The breakfast left much to be desired. Nothing fresh - all out of packets. We also didn't realise they had a dog which set off my hubby's allergy. However, the owners were very sweet with our toddler and let her play with the dog and come into their private area. More than made up for the other shortcomings.

The hotel has very poor signage.. there is just a non descript door with no sign. As a result, the hotel is very difficult to find. Other than that, the stay was excellent!

My friend & I (27 and 26, male) were pleasantly surprised by this B&B. We arrived at Termini station & it took us under 15 mins to walk to Aries. We were welcomed by a friendly staff member who quickly booked us in & showed us around. We had booked a twin room with a shared bathroom. Perhaps we were lucky, but it was if the bathroom was our own as we did not once have to wait in the 4 nights we stayed. Also there was a sink & a mirror in our bedroom which made things easier too. Obviously this is no 5* palace, but bearing in mind the price, I doubt you'll find much better. Cleanliness was high on our agenda & we weren't disappointed. Our sheets were changed everyday & the bathroom cleaned. Only negative thing I could say concerns the breakfast. The coffee is good, the orange juice is good. However the actual food consists of a packet sugar croissant, a packet apricot tart, and packet toast! This was fine the first 2 mornings but after that I gave up. I chose to enjoy my coffee & orange juice and find food elsewhere - there are a couple of good little cafes close by (turn right on to Via Settembre & you'll soon pass one on your right hand side). Our reason for choosing Aries, apart from the price, was the location. We were able to walk to EVERY site (the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Vatican City etc etc) without too much effort! Once you find your bearings, you realise just how close everything is to each other. We were extremely lucky with the weather, so walking everywhere was enjoyable. I think if you really want to take in Rome, it's the only way to do it. If walking isn't for you, Aries has a metro station close by which is simple to work out & only 1 euro for a single journey. Last but not least, we arrived at about 2pm & needed somewhere quick for lunch as we were starving! Between our very broken Italian and the landlady's broken English, we were able to find out a good pizzeria around the corner from Aries (turn left onto Via Settembre & take 1st left)

A great quiet place to stay near the stazione and therefore easy access to the major sites. The hotel was clean and we could get hold of the staff if needed even though they weren't at reception the whole time. We got what we thought we would and were pleased.

The staff was extremely helpful! Dispite a slight language barrier, we were able to communicate very well with the staff. Fatastic place and a great location. The hotel allowed us to have a late check out and they even helped us out by storing our bags for us until we could pick them up. Great place, good people and we would recommend to all of our friends!

We highly recommend Hotel Aries! We had a two night stay in Rome and and decided to stay one more night on the way back from Florence. This Hotel was great for the price and location. It was a close walk to all major sights and attractions. There was a local bus that we caught in front that took us over to Vatican City (bus 62). We also walked everywhere and found that the Hotel was easy to get to from many areas of the city. We loved that it was so close to the Termini Station. Easy walk about 10 minutes. By the way, take the train from the airport Leonardo Express 30 minutes only 11 euros than wlk to Aries...so easy. A bit of a challenge to find at night but look for the numbers on the buildings and its close to the corner..a big wood door with a sign on the right no light on it so be aware and alert. We felt very safe. The rooms were a bit noisy especially up until about 11pm. This hotel is for the traveler who uses their room to sleep & shower and go! Not a lux environment but very clean, nice hot showers and a tasty cappaccino. We were in room number 1 which was the largest room it seemed and a nice big bathroom. WE had dinner at a restaurant down the street called Andrea pizza and pasta the night we arrived and it was Awesome! Get any pasta on the menu...so good! HAve fun in ROME! Ciao!

The place is located in a residential area within walking distance of the train station. So it was very handy for moving around. It was good value for the money if you are just looking for a clean quite bed to sleep. Best part: good central location; the owners are nice people. Worst part: I had the single room and it was a bit cramped.

on the main road there is no signboard indicating the hotel, at night after 8.30pm the streets are deserted and while walking one can feel unsafe. Rooms have wafer thin walls and next rooms toilets/flushing make huge noise, mattresses are put on spring beds as such beds are very soft and sagging persons with back problem must avoid. Breakfast is very poor quality of juice and bread and nothing to talk about. T.V has poor reception and few channels in ITALIAN as such those looking for English news or channel will be disappointed. Shower is for namesake only water falls in small dribble. For the price paid this is not value for money though location is excellent.

Very convenient to the Termini train station and only a 15 minute walk to the Trevi fountain. Good neighbourhood, restaurants nearby. Rooms quite adequate in size. Only problem was noise from the street outside...not a main street, but noisy with garbage collection in the wee hours of the morning, people talking loudly outside another hotel. Overall, good value for the money, though.

For anyone wanting a nice, clean place to stay that's affordable and within walking distance to most of the tourist hot spots, Aries is perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Noise was a bit of an issue, although you'll find that to be the case just about anywhere in Italy. Also, the hotel itself was a little tricky to find; I recommend arriving during the day if possible.

We arrived during the night. It was very hard to find the Hotel Aries d/t their sign is only about 4 x 6 inches. It does not have a light on it either. Except for hard to find at night this is a really nice place to stay. The owners Maria and Stella were the best hostesses. Enjoyed the breakfast and expresso every morning.

Thanks you so much ! We had a very pleasant and romantic 4 days journey (for our 2nd anniversary of wedding) at Aries which is 20 minutes away by walk from the Colosseo and other historic sites. The bus can also pick you up in front of the suite to go Vatican (or it takes about an hour by walk - we did it!). That's right, English is not very well spoken but people are so kind and helpful that communication (with your hands if needed) is very easy and make your wishes come true ! Do not hesitate to ask for the Air Conditioning remote control at the reception ! If we have a chance to go back to Rome, we will go back for sure to Aries ! ;o) Grazie mille per il vostro sorridere i compassione !!! Vanessa & Jean-Pierre BOUTHERIN

The thing that I like most is the location, because we could go to almost every places walking. It takes you around 10-15 minutes to get the important places in the City. People in Aries were very nice, answering our questions about the city, giving us some advices, even changing the breakfast time when we needed. The room was clean and spacious. The en suite bathroom was very simple but it was clean, so enough. I will recommend it to my friends... for sure!!.

Aries is a Town House Suite (bed & breakfast), so do not expect hotel service. The rooms are clean and you get fresh towels every day. The lady who owns it is very nice and helpful, and although she only speaks a little english, you can talk to her, if you use your hands and your imagination. The location is excellent; it is easy to find fra Termini Station, and you can walk to all the major sights in the city, except the Vatican. I would stay there again!

The room in Aries was very small but clean. Its floor is dirty. However, it was noisy depending on the neighboring guests, and if you open the windows. We shared the bathrooms, which were large and clean. This hotel is very close to the train station, and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast was good (bread, cereals, juices, fresh coffee, oranges/bananas, and yogurt. Overall, it was good value for the money.

Because the Aries is not a hotel, it does not have someone at the front desk at all times. The price charged is too high because the service and the breakfast are not good. Also the owners do not speak good English. There was a lot of noise from the street. There was no ventilation in the bathroom. The place is also difficult to find. However the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

A great place to stay. We walked from Central Termini, and could walk to all the important sights on foot- except the Vatican, but the bus went past the front door. A helpful Mum & Daughter team who did a great job for a couple of visitors. I'd stay there again if I nneded a base to see the city.

The B&B is very conveniently located. The neighborhood is safe and clean. It was easy to find this hotel. The hostess is very nice and friendly. She does not speak English, but still could explain us how to get to some places etc. Her daughter speaks some English and can help. The room was big, but the bathroom looked like 'budget'. The shower was not very good and was sprinkling water all over the place (you just have to make sure your toilet sit is covered or lifted when you take a shower). Walls are thin. So, if you do not sleep well at night, noise from your neighbors' bathrooms may bother you. Other then that- it was good, and I would consider this place next time I visit Rome.

The Aries was very conveniently located just a few blocks from the central railway terminus. There were several reasonably priced restaurants in the area and we were a short walking distance from the main attractions in Rome.Although the signora did not speak much English, her daughter was more fluent and they were both very pleasant. The rooms were large enought to accomodate our bicycles. There was some bathroom noise from the other rooms , but otherwise it was very quiet. The courtyard was useful for assembling and disassembling our bikes at the beginning and end of our trip. We were also able to store a suitcase and our bikeboxes there for 3 weeks until we returned to Rome. A very enjoyable stay. We would not hesitate to recommend the Aries to friends or stay ther again.

I was very pleased and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an inexpensive place that is suitable for families.

La estancia estuvo muy bien, muy cerca de la estación y del centro, quizás hacía mucho calor en la habitación y sólo había un ventilador en una habitación. The lady who operats the place did not speak much English. Though she wanted to help, she could not. We got lost after locating the property and registering when we went to park our car. Excellent choice for budget lodgings. Short 7 min walk to Termini station. Was given own keys for the main gate, the apartment and our room to come and go as we pleased. Room was better than expected. It was spacious and very quiet - had double paned windows with air conditioning - very necessary with the summer heat. Also came with mini refridgerator and TV. Beds were very firm - a luxury! Room was spotlessly clean. We chose shared bathroom, which was down the hall. It, too, was very clean at all times. Only strange thing was that our shower did not have a door. Some water splashed out onto the bath mat but it was not too bad (did not get the room wet). Breakfast of fresh croissants, coffee and juice served in the morning was nice if nothing special. Our hostess lived in on the premises in private quarters so was generally available for any questions or assistance. Would definitely stay here again next time in Rome.
