Fantastic boutique hotel - was surprised to see any negative comments in previous reviews. Great location, friendly staff, very clean and modern rooms/interior, decent breakfast...it felt like home very quickly. Didn't really find the rooms noisy as other reviews had mentioned. Would recommend paying a little extra for the suite, as the jacuzzi in the room makes it well worth it. Overall we thought this hotel was great value for money and would recommend to anyone.

I could not recommend this residence.
Room would have been pleasant when new but now stains on bedspread carpets and chair. No hotwater for shower in evening and not prepared to fix untill next day.
Breakfast-microwaved frozen rolls, tinned fruit etc.. Would have been very easy to get fresh bread and fruit.
Unable to book a table for us, subsequently booked directly.
Convenient location.

This is a welcoming property in a superb location. The tram to Trastevere is right outside and the bus stop is only half a block. But you can walk to most ancient attractions as well. The Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo di' Fiori and Piazza Venezia are all within easy walking distance.
For opera fans, the hotel is located right next door to Teatro Argentina, where Rossini's "Barber of Seville" saw its ill-fated debut in 1816. If you prefer Puccini, San Andrea della Valle, the site of the first act of "Tosca," is only a block away.
Breakfast is about as good as you will find in a very small hotel, and the coffee is excellent. No automated dispensers here- they make it fresh, and they remember what you like.
There are only six rooms in the hotel, and someone is always on duty at the desk. One more compliment to the staff- when they say they will do something, it gets done.
The hotel is VERY secure, located on an inner courtyard. You have to announce yourself and get buzzed in. If it's late, you have to do it at two different locations.
A couple of caveats. The elevator is of typically Roman size and the hotel is on the third floor. If you don't like climbing stairs AND you are claustrophobic, choose another hotel. Also, at least one of the rooms is on two levels, which is charming in a way, but could be a problem for older guests.
Finally, the modern decor might be a problem for people looking for something more traditional. It's whimsical and colorful, and we liked it very much.
If you are looking for a moderately priced hotel by Roman standards that is comfortable, secure, and centrally located, Argentina Residenza is a good choice.

My wife and I were visiting Rome for our honeymoon. Her first trip to Italy, my third. The location was excellent, within blocks of the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo Di Fiori. Largo Argentina is right out the front door as well as the tram and bus stops and a taxi stand a half block away.
Our stay was for 7 nights. The hotel was consistent with my expectations. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. The one exception to my expectations was the bed. European beds are typically firm, but our bed felt like a brick. My wife actually checked under the covers to make sure it wasn't a box spring we were sleeping on. Other than that the room and bathroom were spacious, comparable to American rooms.
As to street noise, I've not stayed in a city hotel where there wasn't some sort of noise at night. Our window was facing a side street and was quiet for the most part. Though some might not, we found the muffled rumbling noise of the tram stop mildly amusing as it sounded like a large trash can on wheels. The tram terminal stop is in front of the building and did not run during the night, after 11:00pm, or so.
The access to the hotel was secure. You have to be buzzed in through the main doors to the courtyard and then to the entrance to the hotel portion of the building. The hotel is not well marked but easy enough to find and know that you have to go through to the back of the interior courtyard to enter the hotel.
I hope readers find this review of interest.

Rather expensive: 190 EUR x 5 nights, without discount! In other hotels in Rome, they give a discount when you stay min. 3 nights.
190 EUR is much for such a small room. And for a hotel that is situated in the back of a building. It takes some minutes before you reach the front door of the hotel from the street.

Finding the place was a little challenging as it does not have an official facade. Would be helpful if they had noted the entrance was shared with other buildings and a tram stop is directly outside of it
Staff have been very helpful in assisting with transportation to the airport. We had some problems with opening our luggage which they were very helpful as well in assisting.
Overall, if you're just looking for a clean place to sleep / shower, this would be a good place.

Great location with a small and hip feel and relatively quiet (though once they opened the doors to the courtyard in the morning we could hear the trolleys outside). Our taxi driver also had a hard time finding the place so NB it is diretly across from the Lago Argentina ruin and directly next to the theatre and right where the trolleys start.

My Husband & I stayed at Residenza Argentina on April 26 & 27. The hotel and staff were wonderful. I would however say that if you are a light sleeper like I am, it is in a noisy location with traffic and trams and the noise does continue into the night - although our room was on an alley that came off the main road, the noise travelled down the alley. My husband slept like a baby. There is someone on duty all night so you do not need to take your key and risk losing it - and I mean all night as we came back in from a friend's wedding at 2am. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone who is not a light sleeper as it is central to all the sights.

Do not pass this property up!!! I researched thousands before booking. It was beautiful, clean and in a great location!!! I would definately stay here again. Newly remodeled and worth the price for a great spot in Rome. Quiet rooms in a busy city.

Great stay when comparing price to quality. Special place. Location perfect, walking distance to most monuments or if you perfer, there are major bus lines which pass directly in front of hotel. Area is very safe and well lit. Room and bath clean and nicely decorated. Safe in room closet. Well stocked mini-fridge. Breakfast is standard fare. Will return.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days during our honeymoon. We enjoyed our stay at the Argentina Residenza very much. The place is pretty small and intimate. There are just a few rooms. It was pretty much as advertised in the pictures. The room was very nice and the place was very, very secure yet centrally located. The price was reasonable for Rome. The location was great - walking distance to the Pantheon, the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps, Vatican City etc.
The only difficult thing was finding the place. Even our taxi driver was confused. He let us off on the right street but we still had trouble finding the building. They share a building that is pretty nondescript. Look for the little sign and ring the bell to get in. It is right next to Theatre Argentina. This should be helpful. That's how we found it.
We would definitley stay there again.

This place is a real gem. You could not find a better place in the centre for good simple rooms at a very high quality. Added to that, you can get there from the Airport with train and Number 8 tram (which drops you literally 20 yds from the entrance).

LOCATION!!!
We had a great time. The Residenza is perfectly located to walk to everything in old Rome. The only bus ride is to the Vatican and the Train Station and the bus stop is literally 20 steps from the front door! You might want to use their airport shuttle if you don't want to take the train and taxi.
Francesco and the rest of the staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were quiet and well appointed with all the necessities. They are not small by European standards but Americans may be surprised. Watch out for the elevator, it only holds 3 people without bags but it is part of the charm of the place.
We will stay here again for sure.

The Argentina Residenza is to be thoroughly recommended. It is very handily placed, opposite bus and tram stops; and given that it is in a busy part of Rome it is surprisingly quiet and tranquil. The service is low key but very helpful. The lift is very small, but perfectly functional, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Rooms are quite nice, I recommend the two level room, even if it is a bit smaller then the other ones, but it is very charming.
The staff is very friendly. There are some excellent restaurant in the surroundings, a little wine store which has good food in the evening. next to the french embassy is a good restaurant as well, if you stay in front with your back to the emabassy take the little street which leaves the place on the very left side. it is just at the corner.
All main sites are walking distance, (vatican, forum romanum etc.)

This hotel has very nice rooms and a great location. The breakfast is simple but adequate. Internet access in the room is very nice. This was the nicest room of the 5 cities we traveled to in Europe and Italy, but it was also the most expensive at 150 euros. Still a good value compared with other hotels in its class and in its great location.

VERY NICE BOUTIQUE HOTEL. OUR ROOM WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THE BUFFET BREAKFAST WAS GOOD, AND THE CAPPUCINO'S WERE WONDERFUL. I WOULD HAPPILY STAY AGAIN. THE GENTLEMAN AT THE MAIN DESK WAS VERY KIND, HELPFUL, AND QUITE COMPETENT AT HIS JOB.

This was a very nice room...expensive but very nice considering the hotels in Rome. The front desk was a pleasure to do business with and they served me the best croissant and cappucino after the hours assigned for breakfast.

I really found this place beautiful - much more beautiful than the pictures indicated. It is beautifully done in a very modern Italian style.
The residenza is in the inner courtyard of a large building - so that even though it is in the heart of everything (right off of a central plaza), it was very peaceful once you were inside. I will try to stay there again next time I am in Rome.
Getting into the building is a little challenging as front door is next to the tram stop and the buzzers letting you in take a few tries to let you in and the signs for the residenza are very discreet. But it is worth the effort.

This hotel was more than we ever dreamt it would be. It is right in the heart of Rome and is an easy walk to all the sights. The rooms are very comfortable and modern with exceptional bathrooms. The only thing that is lacking is the breakfast which consisted of a piece of cake and a coffee and fruit juice.
You enter off a busy street, into two courtyards and the rooms are off a quiet side street. The car pick up service to and from the airport is well worth the money and means you can have maximum time in Rome. I would recommend this hotel and would certainly like to stay there again.

The Residenza is FANTASTIC. New, neat, clean, comfortable, etc. You won't find a better deal in the center of Rome, where good hotels are lamentably difficult to find. Those who know Rome might be afraid of the location (a major bus/trolley stop), but the hotel is off a back courtyard and the rooms are quiet. The one thing is skip is breakfast - better coffee and cornetti are available in any bar in Rome.

In the description it said that the room where soundproof, this wasn't quite so. But overall, I found the rooms very delightful and the location was very good.
It was a good place to stay with a baby, since the eating area and the rooms where so close.
