We expected to stay in the Viennese Due but instead they took us to the Viennese. Every sound blared through our room. Below us was a restaurant and we found a huge roach in our room, quite alive. When we got up in the morning from our large comfortable bed, we had insect bites that we could only assume were bedbugs, a horrible thought. We stayed at the Viennese II (due) three years before and were disappointed this time. They were very nice but I cannot support BUGS.

We arrived in Rome late in the evening and couldn't find the street the hotel was in, but when we finally did we then couldn't find the hotel as it is not signed or labelled at all. We rang reception and the manager very helpfully came out the front to show as the way and helped with bags and parking the car. All other staff though could not speak English which made communication very difficult. Room was good if a bit shabby and dank, although bathroom was very small and shower didn't have any screen, so everything in bathroom got wet. They also had the terrible over sized tea towels to dry oneself with. It was pretty location though and great value for money. Breakfast was reasonable at the corner bar. The area that the hotel was in was very shady though to say the least. I wouldn't have wanted to walk around on my own at night.

When we arrived, it took a while for the people to come n check us in as the main reception was in their other hotel. However, the rooms were clean and gave us 2 double beds each room as requested. It will be better to bring your own towels as the ones they gave us were bedsheet material and hardly considered as towels. Breakfast was provided but its only a choice of pastries and coffee at a coffeeshop round the corner. Good points was that the hotel was extremely close to termini and off the main road. Service was rather good and they were helpful and friendly with travelling in rome. All in all, the stay was pretty good expecially with the rate we paid for a budget hotel.

This place was okay - right across from the train station, relatively okay for the price and city I suppose. The major issue we had with this place was the air conditioning and its lack of power or it simply not working. Though the staff came in repeatedly and were attentive to the matter, we were still very uncomfortable. It would have been appropriate for them to provide us with some sort of compensation. Breakfast was available at a cafe on the corner - just a juice and a danish.

Ok, I'll keep this quick... We arrived at 2am and our hostess was up and waiting for us. Hotel is a block from Termini, great location as far as travel convenience, not so great to walk there at night but it is such a short walk, not a big deal. The hotel is a floor of a multi-story building with different hotels on each floor. We didn't expect that so we had to ask a local pizza place. Luckily it was right next door!! The room was clean, modern, well air-conditioned. The bathroom was new also. Maid service was exceptional. I slept great every night but then again, walking sightseeing in Rome will do that to you :) Our hostess was nice and spoke english well. She was very knollegable about the transportation systems. The only complaint I have is the "breakfast", if you could call stale danishes and OJ served in a cracked glass breakfast. For the amount we paid for the room, the breakfast should be better. One last tip, use the exchange on Via Marsala 2 blocks to the north on the corner. NO COMMISION!!! It'll save you 15 Euros to the 100 over an exchange with a commision!!

The Viennese Due is actually a pensione, with several "hotels" controlling blocks of rooms in the same buildings. It made this one a bit hard to locate. Lena was very helpful, but don't expect much from a 2-star in Rome. Our biggest issues were the lack of hot water pressure (and the fact that the entire bathroom is the shower stall) and the flimsy towels provided (we got real terry ones from Lena). The neighborhood appears a bit dicey but we didn't have any problems. The location is very convenient and there are some really good restaurant values nearby.

Room was not ready when we arrived, we had to wait two hours. The rooms are also very tiny. The thing that I can say was good was location in relation to train station.

The room stank of smoke, had a broken mattress and showerhead, and the entrance to the elevator was littered with garbage!

Hevorragendes Preis- Leistungsverhaeltnis, Sehr zentrale und sichere Lage. Fruehstueck in der gegenueberliegenden Bar ist annehmbar, der naechste Supermarkt ist lediglich 3 min. Fussweg entfernt.

Hotel staff was courteous and friendly. Room was clean and everthing was very comfortable. One issue was the bathroom. The tiles blocking the shower water from running out was not high enough. But this should not be an issue as long as you don't shower aggresively

We enjoyed staying here very much. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was also a ceiling fan which was quite nice. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. We arrived early in the day and they even had a room available (with a separate bath, but we didn't mind). In spite of being so close to the train station the room opened onto an interior courtyard and was quiet. There really weren't common areas per se, a hallway and desk. There is also an elevator as the hotel is on the 4th or 5th floor! Breakfast was by voucher at a shop nearby with a wide selection of croissants/ sweet rolls and coffee. The hotel itself is in the first block on the right, use elevator 'B'. We would stay here again!

Great location, one block from Termini train station and bus depot. Breakfast was interesting: a coupon for coffee and pastry standing at a corner coffee shop. Ok with us since we just left a cruise.

The room was very clean and well kept, and the people working there were nice and helpful. Being situated right next to Termini it was a short walk to all the main attractions. I would really recommend the Viennese Due as a priceworthy choise of accomodation.

Disgusting and horrid. A miserable place to stay. The bare minimum. Problems with plumbing, TV/cable, phones, service, smell/odor in bedding, etc etc.

Absolutely terrible. Bedding smelled unwashed. Drain in shower plugged. No services. No one at the desk or available. I could go on and on. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

We asked for a quad and were provided four beds, however in space for a three- max! Although we didn't spend much time in the hotel room, it was very cramped. Bathroom was especially small. Shower provided hot water for two of the four showers taken/morning. Also, you can hear everything that is happening outside room at all hours of the day. Hotel stated that breakfast was included but failed to mention it was done the street at a "bar" that was very small.

Good clean basic accomodation, friendly helpful staff, the provision of a safe at no extra cost was very useful, only drawback was that the whole bathroom got wet when the shower was used, excellent location for Termini, very happy to recommend.

This is a good example of a budget hotel. Once we had found it - it's on the fourth floor of an apartment block which also houses a number of other hotels. The location - just round the corner from the main stations for trains, buses and metro - meant we could go anywhere with a minimum of fuss though there are some run down areas nearby. Lina, the receptionist, housekeeper, fount of all knowledge is brilliant - the place revolves around her. Breakfast was a specially Roman occasion as it was served in the friendly snack bar at the top of the road - two seats so you had to stand for it most days.

Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff spoke flawless english and went above and beyond to make certain our needs were met. Helping with tours, bus maps etc. We were able to leave our bags there between checkout and flight home. Ten euros extra per night for air conditioning. Hotel is literally 200 feet from Termini station. Very easy to walk. Hotel is in courtyard with several other hotels so is easy to miss from the street. Coupons for breakfast at corner cafe very convenient. Very safe and secure since doors to rooms open to locked hallway (you are given a key). All hotels in Rome are expensive this is a great value for the money! My wife her sister and I had a wonderful experience.

Philippines, May 2003
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel mainly because of the friendly and competent staff of Filipinas. We immediately felt at home especially since we are Filipinos and were traveling as a family with 2 young adults and 1 child. The location of the hotel was very convenient being close to the central station, tourist sites, a grocery and eating places. The rooms were always kept clean. I would definitely choose to stay in it again and have in fact already recommended it to friends and relatives.

Perfect location next to the central station and lots of restaurants right across the road when you're too tired to tackle the metro on your first evening. Staff are excellent, very willing to provide lots of help. When we decided to stay an extra night, they even found us a place at a great hostel up the road, at discount prices, even though there was no need for them to do so. Would definitely stay there again and have recommended it to my friends. Thanks to the receptionist and owner, Lynn and Claudio.

Excellent located hotel! Only 5 minutes away off Central train/Bus/Undergroundstation. Very friendly staff! Rooms are new renovated and very clean. Definitely at least 2 star rating. A lot of nice restaurants and bars are in the surrounding. We will definitely select the hotel again!

I reserved a room over 2 weeks in advance and told that my arrival time would be rather late. When I arrived at the hotel at 11 pm, they told me that they had given my room out to another person, and I, my wife and my 10 month old with all our luggage had to walk over to one of their other hotels. We finally got a room at half past midnight, but their were no apologies for the inconvenience and no price change. We still had to pay 75 Euro.
