Kame Hall is located in Piazza Mattei, the heart of ancient Rome, in a meticulously renovated building which dates back to the 1600's.
Our name is inspired by the splendid Turtle Fountain which faces our Luxury Rooms and by a passion for oriental culture.
The term "kame" in fact in Japanese means "turtle".
These turtles are not only the most particular characteristic of the square but also a symbol of joy and beauty for cultures all over the world.
It is this philosophy that suggested us to create this elegant oasis for people who want to share with us the joy of living the atmosphere of the "Eternal City" Rome while staying in a comfortable and relaxing setting away from the hectic environment that characterizes many hotels.

I came with my wife to Rome for a long weekend primarily to see Andre Bocelli in Carmen at the Teatro dell'Opera. By chance I came across Kame Hall on the Venere site and it turned out to be a fantastic find. Kame Hall turned out to be in a quiet yet fantastic central location for sightseeing. Our room was spotless, bed so comfortable and a good choice of breakfast was always delivered on time. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helful.

My experience at the Kame Hall has been mixed. I booked a room on Venere (immediate confirm) for the price of 130 euros.A few hours before my arrival to Rome I receive an email saying that there was no room for me due to overbooking...sorry! I had to call from Spain to know what was going on and they offered me to stay only the first night at their B&B. Hence, instead of immediately looking for an accommodation of the same quality for me and my GF they proposed to go to another B&B of lower quality but at the same price (130 euros) by saying that the overbooking was not their problem at all. Only after a day of discussion (where I also had almost to call the police) they accepted to move me to another B&B of the same quality at the same price. At the end they also apologized tough. So, I hope that my experience taught to the manager of the Kame Hall how to manage these "overbooking situations" ..but we almost saw our holidays in Rome ruined because of a mistake we were not responsible of. Maybe if I hadn't been Italian they would have succeded in sending me to a lower quality hotel at a very high price! The B&B is nice tough but be careful with the booking!

It is a gorgeous hotel, the breakfast is excellent, everything is perfect, we enjoyed very much. But we couldn't find the hotel by asking or also showing the map that were shown in the web site. We managed to find by taxi. The taxi driver used the navigation service to find the street.

Fantastic place will definitely stay here again. A real gem!! The room was beautiful, clean, light and airy. The bathroom was emaculate. A lot of time and effort has been expanded by the owner and it shows.

Se agradecería algún asiento más cómodo en la habitación, para los periodos de tiempo en que se está descansando en ella. El resto, me pareció magnífico.

We stayed in a room overlooking La Fontana Delle Tartarughe. The location was excellent, the room was quiet at night. The bed was good, my partner is 6 ft 4 and had no problems with the length of the bed. Would recommend it for a bit of luxury and privacy in the heart of Rome's old town. We liked the fact that the service was unobtrusive, so that we had help when we needed it but otherwise were left to our own devices with the key to our room also opening the front door. If you want to make lifelong friends with staff/owners of your lodgings try somewhere else! If you want a clean, quiet, well decorated room with a great location/view and breakfast brought to your door promptly every morning, try Kame hall

Room and breakfast was very good.Would have liked to have stayed longer to form an opinion about staff,The gentleman who served our breakfast and booked our taxi was more than helpful. He even helped with our bags which was great as we both are retired folks.Overall we would stay in the same apartments again. We would also use your company again.

Absolutely perfect - location, ambience, size of rooms, bath...and free internet. Quiet, good base for exploring almost all neighborhoods, walking distance to Campo dei Fiori, Vatican, Trastevere, Gianicolo, Forum. Interesting restaurants nearby. Love that fountain.

We would definately stay at Kame Hall again. The room was excellant, central to all the major sites. The only negative comment I can make is that on our last day in Rome we were unable to leave our bags at the hotel after 3.00pm. Our flight was at 21.05, we therefore had our bags in tow for 4 hours which was not an easy task on the cobbles.

we enjoyed our stay at the kame hotel and highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a great 'boutique'hotel. Service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and curtious. We will definitly be staying at the Kame hotel the next time we are in Rome. There is an excellent Trattoria nearby called Aristocampo on Via Della Lungaretta 75.Great food.

Lovely small/familiar hotel in the center of Rome. Best location in order to walk around most of the tourist points. When you come back to hotel you feel as confortable as your house. And the breakfast is served in the room.

- Breakfast could be improved (fresh orange juice would be great) - we could not leave our luggage later than 15:30 because we were not sure someone would be there later - ideal for couples, gay or straight, very well located and wonderfully decorated property

We had a lovely stay at the Kam Hall. I loved the rooms and breakfast. I loved the location. It is a quiet area, Piaza Matei is lovely. Nice restaurants at 10 min walk. No to many tourists in the area, and still close to all major attractions.

Kame Hall is a jewel in the crown of B&B in Rome. Situated in the Jewish ghetto section, Kame Hall is tucked away on a small side street in an area seemingly less roamed by tourists. The rooms are exceptionally quiet also owing to the hermetically sealed windows. There is a little noise in the morning between 0800-0900, but otherwise very quiet. While the building may be centuries old, the interior has been completely upgraded to high standards. The room we had was a good size considering city location. The bathroom was well-appointed. The breakfast menu was varied, and delivered to our room promptly at the requested time. The staff was courteous and friendly. The location could not have been better, as it was short walking distance from Trastevere, Pantheon (and associated areas), and the Roman Forum/Colloseum, and Vatican City.

Once we located the door from the square and climbed the stairs we knew a lot of time and care had been invested in this Suite of rooms. Quality and style and a friendly greeting met us. The room was superb, teh bathroom with stone bowl and shower with rose and power handle was excellent. The view was excellent into the piazza. Breakfast excellent - choose as much or as little of the options and it will be brought to your room ontime. Fantastic location, a walk to vatican city in half hour, the Pantheon is ten minutes, Imperiali is ten minutes too. On departure we met Emanuella who was very friendly and interested in who we were. Brigit and I would certainly stay there again for our next shopping trip! Shoes and suits are excellent in Rome and half price than UK with much better style. Thanks to the team. You have a good business.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this hotel. I had search the whole internet and couldn’t find any reviews about it. But seeing as I had left it quite late to book a hotel and most have been booked up I risked it and decided that it looked good enough and was quite cheap. I can only say that I was hugely impressed with this apartment. The staff were very helpful and polite. I emailed them a week before as they said that the check in closed at 10, however I thought that we might of arrived about 11 so I asked if it would be a problem but they said it was fine. Lucky we arrived just before 10 and there was a very helpful young lady who checked us in. and it seem that nothing was too much of a problem apart from the credit card machine, which she did find difficult which she explained she had only used a few times. This led me to believe that these apartments are brand new! The bed was King size and very comfy, if not a little short but lucky I and my girlfriend are quite small! The bathroom was amazing and to be honest my dream bathroom. I've always wanted two bowls in a bathroom (I know I lead a sad life but who cares). The location was really good. I was a bit hard to find and the taxi driver had to look for it in a map. (Saying that it cost 10 Euros, but be careful and make sure you get a proper cab, we were told it would be 18 euro because it was downtown) But you can get there from the Termini by getting a bus to Torre Argentina. But be careful of the buses as they do get very crowded as I found out on the way back. But the apartment were walking distance to most sights and at the Piazza Torre Argentina there is a Tram stop and buses to most places. A coin was tossed in the Trevi fountain and no doubt I will return to this apartment as well.
