We only had a two night stay in Rome but were lucky enough to stay at Giovy. We would highly recommend this hotel. It was clean, spacious and the host (Joanna? - spelling sorry!) was absolutely marvellous. She was there to meet us when we arrived very late at night, showed us our room and made sure we were very comfortable and happy with everything before she retired for the night. She made us feel very welcome and special as she did all her guests. We cannot fault this accommodation and would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a more personalised service than one of the bigger hotel chains.

Giovy is a sweetheart, and really went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable and taken care of. When we mentioned it was our honeymoon, she even gave us a small gift and a bottle of champagne. The breakfast each morning was filling and she was a generous hostess, even packing us a bag lunch the day we left in case we got hungry on the train. The room was small but more cozy than anything else. There was a small desk and mini bar, and the bed was spacious with extra blankets and pillows. Air conditioning was brand new and worked within seconds. The shower was a little of a tight squeeze, but super clean and modern. We requested the room with the balcony overlooking the inner courtyard, which is part of a larger apartment complex, where everyone was fairly quiet... a great location, steps from the train station but very safe and comfortable.

We stayed for two nights at B&B Giovy. The host, Giovanna, was very welcoming and friendly. She was the best host out of all the B&B's we stayed in Italy. She gave us very helpful advice on the city too. She makes delicious cappuccino, and we would certainly stay there again when we return to Rome.

Giovanna was a gem! She makes all other B&B's in Italy pale in comparison to her superior hospitality, accommodations and breakfast. I would highly recommend staying at Giovy the next time you vacation in Rome.

Giovanna is a joy, and her sparkling personality really makes this place. The room was comfortable, the location very handy for the train station (a plus if you have an early morning train) and buses. Giovanna's coffee gets the day off to a good start. For the money this is a very handy and comfortable base (and did I mention the wonderful Giovanna?)

The accommodation was perfect for our needs, an overnight stay in Rome before travelling by train to Paestum the next morning. For a longer term stay we would book more centrally. My only comment is that breakfast was a little too basic and could be improved.

We werent expecting the warm welcolme and family like atmosphere we received at Giovy's. The rooms are perfect for short stays, the location is easy walking distance with heavy bags from the Rome Termini, restaurants, supermarket and close to many attractions. The continental breakfast provided consisted of more food than we were able to eat. The most special aspect is Giovy herself. We feel we left a friend. You will know what I mean if you stay there.

This was an excellent B&B for the price and very conveniently located close to Termini Station for the airport express, national trains and the metro. Also walking distance to the Colleseum. Rooms had a quiet air-con system and an unstocked mini fridge so you could buy your own drinks and keep them cool. Entrance is difficult to find the first time - no large sign, just a name on an entry-phone. Some rooms (like ours) overlook a pleasant courtyard. This makes them a little dark but they benefit from being cool as they out of the direct sun. They were also very quiet with no traffic noise even though you are in a busy part of the city. The restaurant opposite the courtyard entrance (Cecio) is well worth trying.

The B&B Giovy was everything the reviews said. Joanna was friendly, helpful and informative. Her lattes were both yummy and plentiful. It was the first time either my daughter or I had ever stayed in a B&B. The room was ample, the bathroom was compact and the beds were "firm". Most of all the room was very clean. We were only spending two days in Rome before boarding a cruise ship. Location was a high priority as we were planning on touring Rome on foot or by bus and staying at the Giovy accoplished that. We easily got to the Closseum on foot and Vatican City by bus. We had not made prior arrangements for tours and when we got there the lines were long. We were approached by independant tour guides who offered speedier entry and audio ear phones for the english speaking guided tour at what we thought was a reasonable price. We decided to take them up on their offer and never regretted it. The only negative experience happened at a restaurant near Vatican City. We were charged 10 euros each for an ice tea and a fountain pop. Our disbelief and protests went unheeded so we paid the 50 euros for our very "simple" lunch. The important lesson we learned was to always ask the price of an item before ordering if it was not listed on the menu. With lunch leaving a bad taste in our mouths we were headed to McDonald's for dinner when we happened upon a restaurant called "Twins Bar" celebrating their Grand Opening. You guessed it the owners were twin brothers. They procceeded to restore our faith in Italian hospitality by serving us a delicious meal at a reasonable price. I would highly recommed Giovy B&B and I would not hesitate in staying there again.

We stayed in Rome for 4 days, this was our first trip there. The owner is very friendly, kind and went out of her way to make us feel at home. We met several members of her family during our stay. Breakfast was delicious more food than I could eat (pastries, yogurt, fruit.) She served us our breakfast in the morning (as early as 7:30) and will even make you an expresso or cappuccino as she has her own expresso machine. We felt like we were at home.

A genuine warm welcome from mine host, who took the tme to acquaint us with facilities and the area. A map of the city was provided and suggestions as to where go and how to get there.

Giovanna (pronounced Joanna) couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very clean. As other travellers have noted, the washrooms are very tiny. This led to a few humourous incidents - such as inadvertently knocking the hairdryer off its holder, turning it on automatically, causing the user quite a start. Giovanna can be contacted directly at giovanna.69@tiscali.it

This was our first visit to Rome. The best thing about this B & B is Giovanna. She makes all her guests feel at home. She is very welcoming and lovely, and is on call 24-7 should you need her assistance or if you arrive late. This place is also in a really good location if you are arriving or departing by training. It is only about 5 mins walk to the station. The area around the station is not really that flash, but once you walk in side the big door and into the courtyard you leave the hustle and bustle of Rome behind. Highly recommended for couples in their late 20s and 30s.

Our host Giovanna was incredible. She was very accomodating and extremely helpful to us and to our other guests. The breakfasts were tasty and filling, with as many cappucini as desired. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Giovy. Giovanna is a wondeful hostess and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfast is very good (fruit, juice, bread, cheese, pastry) and Giovanna's coffee is excellent. The location is ideal - close to the train and bus stations - and Giovanna is happy to tell you where to go and what to see in Rome. She is also very entertaining over breakfast. The restaurant across the street (Cecio) has excellent food and we found it to be very good value for money. We enjoyed our stay at Giovy so much that we returned there at the end of our holiday in Italy.

My boyfriend and I stayed with Giovanna (the wonderful proprietoress of Giovi) in March 2008, and had an absolutely amazing experience. Wonderful value for the money, gay-friendly, and free breakfast, plus Giovana is the nicest person you'll ever meet. The *only* complaint we had was that we weren't told ahead of time that the hotel is cash-only, so we had to scramble a bit to get cash before check-out, but otherwise, a great experience. We highly recommend it!!!

Giovanna is a true delight, she is the ultimate hostess. Would have given a higher rating for quietness of the rooms, because the exterior windows are fabulous - but the interior soundproofing (door to hallway) is paper thin. If anyone is in the hallway talking, it sounds like they are right next to your bed. The breakfast was croissants, cereal, cheese, bread, fruit, juice & coffee/hot chocolate/tea. All personally served by Giovanna. The room is large, the bathroom small (as expected). All very, very clean. Can't say enough wonderful things about Giovanna - she is fabulous!

Unforgettable! I can't imagine to go back to Rome and not to stay at Giovanna's place. Everything about her and her B&B is praiseworthy and ready to please you. I spent there 7 nights with my friend. After first night Giovanna offered us bigger room with the balcony, and since we were already unpacked she insisted to move our clothes and stuff by herself while we were enjoying Rome. Breakfast is plentiful, with as much yoghurts and fruits as you can eat, and of cours her memorable capuccino. But the best thing is her personal touch and effort she made to make you feel at your own home, especially tears in her eyes on our parting.

THE ONLY PLACE TO STAY IN ROME! If Giovy is fully booked for your intended dates, I would recommend changing your dates. The hotel is brilliantly positioned about three minutes from Termini bus metro and train station. The welcome and customer care is the best I have ever received from B & B to five star. Giovanna is a mine of information, is prepared to book events for you on her PC, and all in all spare no effort in making sure you enjoy Rome to the full. We stayed four nights and met guests from all over the world from early twenties to over sixties. The only minute flaw, was that our bathroom, although big enough for one, was small. If your idea of a great holiday in Rome demands a big bathroom, then Giovy is probably not for you! Unlike many B & B's in this area the accommodation was on the first floor, so there was no mountain of steps, or need to use a lift.

We were very very happy with our stay here and agree with all the positive previous comments made. Giovanna is a wonderful host- this is like staying with your favorite roman relative. She could not do enough to help us and her other guests. The accommodation is very clean and well priced. Other reviews have commented on the surrounding area. Although the area surrounding the termini is not the nicest in Rome, we did not feel unsafe there. On a positive note this location is very close to the Termini. It is only minutes walk with your luggage from the termini which you can get too easily by train from the airport. The termini is also the central hub for buses and the metro which made getting around to all the sites easy, although the the hotel is also within easy walking distance of major areas like the colosseum.

I chose this property based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews here and on other travel sites, especially the glowing remarks about Giovanna, and I'm so glad that I did! I have to echo many of the previous comments, the best part of this B&B is Giovanna. We received a very warm welcome to the B&B and were impressed with her boundless energy and wonderful hospitality. Giovanna was easily the best host we stayed with during our three-city trip through Italy. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and more than adequate. Some folks have commented on the neighborhood being sketchy and all I can think is that those reviews come from people who have never lived in a real city before. At no time did I feel like the area was unsafe and I was out and about at all hours. The location is very convenient to the train station, local bus lines, and an easy, downhill walk to the Colisseum and Forum. Also, there is a beautiful Church right around the corner that is worth visiting. I would have no problem recommending this place to my friends and family and without question, will return someday in the near future.

Our stay with Giovanna was excellent. The location was convenient to the termini station and a great stepping off place to touring Rome. The restaurant across the street was so good that we returned to have a second dinner there during our limited (3 day) stay in Rome. Also convenient is a laundry/internet kiosk right across the street. We can't say enough about the brightness, knowledge, and enthusiasm that Giovy brings to the stay in Rome and we will return to stay only with her during our next visit.

I booked 3 nights at this B & B following the good reviews I'd read and I was not disappointed. Despite the good reviews I was not prepared for the lovely reception we received from the owner who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I felt as though I was staying with friends and family, especially as we ate breakfast with her Dad and neice there sometimes. Apart from the incredible hospitality of the owner the room was comfortable and the quietest room I'd ever stayed in in Italy. The location was also ideal for our needs (less than 5 min walk to Termini station) and links to all tourist spots. This was essential as I'd only recently had an operation so being close to transport was ideal!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Giovy. It is in a great location (you can walk to the colosseum in 15 minutes and the termini station in 3!), was very clean, quiet and great value for money. Our stay in Rome was brief but enjoyable, made all the better by the lovely welcome we received from Giovanna. The rooms were immaculate and the hotel was very close to Termini so it was very easy to get around the city. Town House Suite Giovy is a treasure waiting to be discovered in Rome! Giovanna is the best and most hospitable host. Whenever we need anything, she is just one phone call away. She will be in your room in a minute. We enjoyed our stay in her place. We had a luggage delay for 2 days. It was Giovy who called the airline office every 2 hours while we were having our tour of Rome. We went there as "clients of the owner" and we left the place at "friends of the owner." We hope that there will be more rooms to accommodate more tourists in the near future because it is really a nice place - close to the Roma Termini and the city center ;-) We will recommend this place to every friend, relative and other Filipino tourists who would like to visit Rome. The location is good - within a few minutes from Termini staion, the metro and bus station. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Giovy! When we heard Giovanna call out to us by name as we approached, we felt welcomed and secure immediately. Their knowledge of the attractions and restraunt suggestions were perfect. It was a wonderful place to stay while in Rome!

We were in Rome for 2 days, traveled around Italy and returned to Rome for 3 more days. We stayed all 5 nights at the Giovy. We were happy to return to it when we returned to Rome. Joanna, the owner, is just the BEST! She does everything she can to accomodate. We felt like old friends. Giovy is ideally situated to get around the city very easily by bus or by Metro. Termini Station is only 2 1/2 blocks away. The Giovy is 2 blocks from the beautiful Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. This church has Bernini's tomb in it and another Sistine Chapel, which is the gravesite of Pope Pius V. It is one of the prettier churches in Italy.

Honestly the best welcome I have ever had in a hotel. Really super friendly lady. (We discovered she had the same birthday as me, but that probably is beside the point.) Has all the time in the world for her guests and even gave us a mobile number so if we ever needed anything we could contact her direct. I have no complaints whatsoever about the stay and look forward to returning. Plenty of breakfast and Joanna (sorry I am not sure who to spell her name in Italian) is very generout with everything. (We asked if we could take some food with us and we ended up with a back pack full.) Cannot reccommend her highly enough. Go here. Also - gay friendly which was nice. (Incidentally - our room looked out into a courtyard with plants and fish) (also - rooms air conditioned / heated and you can change the settings very easily yoursef... with a remote control so you don't even need to get out of bed)

This bed and breakfast was wonderful!. From the moment that i walked through the door to the moment i left our host Giovanna was there to make you feel at home and special. The location was fantastic only being a very short walk from the train station. Took me about five minutes. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast provided is unbelievable (i have not eaten more in my life). You are provided with maps and given inside knowledge on what to see and do from your host. Overall i was sad to leave but i will definately return if i am to return to rome. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have never been welcomed or treated so well. Joanna runs this B&B with such passion and her service is the best I have ever received. If I go back to Rome I would always go back to Giovy without a second hesitation. This is quite a basic B&B which is easy to get to and you can walk to all the sights from, what makes it stand out though is the service Joanna provides.

We rented 2 rooms for 2 couples. The bathrooms in both rooms were very small. There were problems with the shower in one room either not producing any water, or producing cold or scalding hot water: bizarre and dangerous! One room was spacious with a balcony decorated with beautiful plants. The other room was much smaller, especially for 2 people. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated with refrigerators in each room. The mattresses were terrific, and the best I slept on during my 2 weeks in Italy. The convenience to the train station was one major reason we selected this B&B. The building is nice and the elevator a godsend since we were on the 5th floor. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

It would have been nice to have some fresh baked food for breakfast and not a roll in a cellophane bag. Rest of breakfast OK. Excellent location. Close to Termini Train station so able to get anywhere easily.

The best feature about this accomodation is the proprietor (Joanna); she makes you feel very relaxed and at home. The location is great for using train, bus or metro.

Giovanna is the best hostess we've encountered in Italy! Upon arrival, she brought in orange juice and fruit to welcome us. She also put free water in the fridge everyday. Location is close to the termini station and metro. Room is clean and spacious. We'll stay there again.

After reading all the wonderful reports on the B&B Giovy and our host Giovanna I was have to say it was better than I even expected. Great location. My wife and I walked everywhere from there. As stated it's about a 5 minute walk from train station. Rooms are clean, good sized, with excellent showers. For thoughs of you who have stayed in Italy, you know that water pressure is not alway very good. Giovanna was more than a wonderful host, she was a good friend. We trully felt we were staying with family. Also don't miss her sister's resturant accross the street. Great food, good wine and excellent service. Wouldn't even think of going back to Rome and not staying at the Giovy.

I love Italy, I went to Rome, Florence and Venice, each one very different than the other, all incredibly beautiful. In Rome I spend a night at Giovy. Giovanna, the owner made the stay very warm, she is an excellent hostess, giving great advice of places to visit, transportation, etc. Her place is not modern, but it has the italian charm. Definitely a place to go.

B & B Giovy was a highlight of our 6 wk. trip to Europe. Giovanna is the warmest hostess you will ever meet. Upon arrival she greeted us like family right from the beginning and went out of her way to help us get our luggage up to the room. Her husband is credited with the great cappucinos that are served for breakfast, however, he was out of town during our stay so we can attest to the fact that Giovanna's cappucinos were the best we had in all of Italy! We were there for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay there thoroughly. The B & B is very convenient to the train station and all local transportation. It is true what the other reviews have to say about the breakfast. It is all packaged items, but it gave us a start for the day and the warm welcome each morning and the cappucinos made up for the rest.

I guess being from USA, my idea of a B@B was not like what we had. The owner make up for that with her kindness and generosity. She would do anything for you. It was within walking distance from the train station, but a little hard to find, since we were unfamiliar with area. It was clean and well kept. WE had air condition and a private bath. The room does not have any phone, For a one night stay in Rome I would recommend it.

Giovanna is the most welcoming and helpful host you could hope to find. Her 7-room B&B shares an fairly uninspiring street-level entrance with other properties, but Giovy (on the first floor) is a gem of a place - spotlessly clean, quiet and our room was spacious, very comfortable and tastefully furnished with good quality fittings. The location is very convenient for the train station - about 5 mins walk. Very good value for money and we will definitely stay here again when in Rome. The restaurant just across the road is great too!

The B&B is situated just 4 short blocks from the central Terminal and location of city tour bus stop. Near a number of eateries. Giovanna the proprietor is very conscientious. She welcomed us with drinks. Arranged for taxi service, provided advice, etc. Good service and accommodations for the price. Only drawback: no common area to relax with other guests; cold but sufficient breakfast only partially offset by all the espresso or cappucino I desired. I'd recommend this to anyone on a budget.

Giovy was the sweetest woman. My boyfriend and I arrived at the train station and it must have been less than a 10- minute walk to her place. She waited outside for us and gave us a warm welcome. She made me feel so comfortable and gave me a map of rome and circled all the great things to see. I had read everyones reviews and expected her to be very nice, but honestly, she exceeded my expectations.. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was wonderful and her capuchinos were AWESOME.. I LOVED MY STAY!!! I would definetely recommend her to anyone and when I return to rome I will be staying there again..

Giovana is exceptional and the reviews we read about her do not even do her justice. She is so gracious and tries to help every traveller feel at home in her home. The location near the train station is excellent especially if you are dragging luggage and want to take day trips from the station. Restaurant across the street welcoming and wholesome.

Giovanna must be the friendliest, most welcoming hostess you could ever hope to meet. Our room was spacious, clean, light and airy, making for a comfortable stay. Giovanna and her husband are wonderful hosts. Especially Giovanna cares for her guests in all belongings. The location of the hotel is perfect; close to the Termini Station and many sightseeing spots; bars and restaurant also close by. Only point for a small criticism is the breakfast which is plentiful but very sweet and not with many fresh products. Some toasted bread and a little bit of fresh cheese or sausage would be nice instead of all the cookies and cakes. But all in all we enjoyed our stay and would come back to Giovannas house every time.

This is a lovely little B&B. Rather uninspiring from the outside but Giovy is so friendly and welcoming. Once inside the rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. And it's within easy walking distance of all of Rome's sights. The only thing that could be better is the breakfast - more fresh bread rolls and the like might be nice but the coffee, as made by Giovy's husband, is great! I would recommend this to anyone.

Giovanna was the most gracious host we encountered on our trip. Our train was hours late and we didn't get to the hotel until almost 3 am but Giovanna was extremely welcoming regardless of our late arrival. She made us feel like her personal guests and was very helpful with any questions we had about Rome including bus information, tourist activities, and safety issues. We would highly recommend her to anyone visiting Rome on a budget.

Giovana, the owner of the hotel, is one of the most welcoming and accomadating people we know! The hotel is within walking distance of Termini station and is close to many of the tourist attractions. If we are to find ourselves back in Rome we will definitely stay at Hotel Giovy. We recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome!

Giovy makes you feel like you are part of the family. Great location for public transit and closeness to sightseeing. Also great location if you want to feel the real "ambience" of Roma. I had read the reviews about Giovannah before we booked and she is every bit that was described. Wonderful experience.

Giovanna was delightful. She was very accommodating. However, she could improve on the breakfast...the same thing was served every morning. It was a little difficult getting in and out of the room and building. You had to use several keys.

The six of us (three middle-aged couples) received a very warm welcome even though we arrived from the airport well after midnight. We appreciated Giovanna's advice and help in planning our days sightseeing around the city and breakfasts were full of laughter thanks to the lively banter served with the excellent coffee. The Giovy offers excellent value with very clean and comfortable rooms. The rather cramped en suite facilities were compensated for by the generous provision of towels. The accommodation added to the splendid time we had in Rome - we shall be back!

B&B Giovy and the hostess, Giovanna are the best value in Rome. My wife and I just returned from a trip to Italy. We stayed at B&B Giovy in the beginning and at the end of our two-week trip. Admittedly, Giovy is not a 4-star hotel, but you can't beat it for the price. From what I understand, the whole place has just been renovated as recently as two months ago and it shows. We stayed in two different rooms and both were nicely decorated and immaculately clean. They looked like they were brand new. The showers and bathroom are a little small (I'm 6'5) but were very clean and usable. When you stay at a B&B though, the rooms are only half of it. I'm convinced that the hostess, Giovanna (pronounced like Joanna here), is the hardest working woman in Rome. She stays up late welcoming arrivals and wakes up early to get breakfast ready for the early departures. She must keep going on the cappuchino. Hands down, Giovanna makes the best in Rome. It tastes great and it stays hot until you are finished. You won't appreciate this until you have it somewhere else. Just ask and she will do anything she can to help with your stay, sometimes you don't even have to ask. The nights are just starting to get a little cold. Giovanna noticed we had the heater turned on our first night. The next day we had a nice down comforter on the bed. The rooms were great, but Giovanna is the reason why we would go back to Giovy. She goes above and beyond her call of duty and takes great pride in her B&B. As she said when we left very early Friday morning, now you have a friend in Rome.

after a 3 min walk from the train station, Giovy greeted us at the door and it was like staying with family the whole time. The rooms were very clean and newly remodeled. The breakfast was good and the hot cocoa was awesome. The bathrooms were modern and nice, but quite small, although this was the case in all of italy. If you are an offesive lineman on a football(American) team, you might want to stay somehwere else. But for the rest of us, it was just fine. The best part of the stay was Giovy. She spoke very good english, showed us some highlights of the city on the map, warned us about people ripping us off, etc. In a city known for pickpockets and hotels trying to scam you, Giovy was an honest, friendly, hard working small business owner. Oh, and she had the best towels in Italy. We were asked to change our room once and were put in her sister's B & B. At first i was sceptacle, but I then learned that it was in the same complex and the facility was identical. Her sister was as equally nice/sweet. I did notice a faint smell of smoke and some noise from the other floors. But a week later at the Hilton (2X the cost), I smelled smoke and heard others too. What can you do? The night at her sister's place was equally as pleasant. My wife and I liked it so much there we returned there for our last night in Rome. Good Value, Excellent Facilities, Great trustworthy Staff, awesome city.

Giovy's was the best out of the many places I stayed at for the 3 weeks I was in Italy. She was an absolute pleasure to see after sightseeing always asking if you needed anything. She had answers to any question that you had and even opened the kitchen early for breakfast when I needed to leave to the airport. Her gorgeous B&B is close to Termini Station, but not so close you hear the trains (it's very quiet). It was within walking distance of all the major sights or you could just grab a bus / subway. Without a doubt I will be staying at Giovy's the next time I am in Rome.

Giovanna is a wonderful host and made my stay in Roma carefree. The neighborhood that the bed and breakfast is located in is a real urban neighborhood but quite safe. There are plenty of shops and restaurants and the location is easy within walking distance of the main train and bus depot for Roma. I would stay here again and again.
