Excellent location to explore the historical part of Rome. Hosts were very friendly, helpful and speak English. Lots of restaurants close by within walking distance. Took longer to walk there from train station than expected. Air conditioning was not adequate. Would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic place to stay! Francois & Melissa were extremely helpful and friendly, recommending great restaurants and giving great advice to us there on our first time in Rome. The room was beautiful and spacious as well as very clean. The neighborhood is ideal for tourists, within easy walking distance of the Coliseum,Forum, etc as well as the metro and buses. We felt very safe even at night, as plenty of people (including locals) are out strolling quite late. Next time I'd take the metro rather than walk from the train station. Only thing I would change is that I would remember to print out the directions they emailed me on how to find it, since the sign is very discrete and we walked past it the first 3 times. We would definitely go back and stay at the Nicholas Inn -- it was great!!

The two main reasons you should stay here are the owners who were friendly and informative, and the location. You walk out the front door make a right and in 3 minutes you are at the Colliseum and the Forum. It was unbelieavable how close they are to these sites. This place has only 4 rooms so if you decide to go here make sure you get one of the rooms in the back and not the room in front where we were.We found out the hard way that one of the walls is also shared with another "hotel"and they had some very rowdy guests at the other hotel. This of course isnt Nicholas Inn's fault but we stayed here three nights and didnt have one good nights sleep. We expected to hear street noise and we did. We didnt care about that but when its coming right next to our bedrooms wall from guests at the other hotel it was not pleasent to say the least. We would stay here again but only in one of the back rooms.

We had an excellent experience at Nicola's Inn. Perfect location, great hosts, great recommendations for locale cafes, etc. Would highly recommend, and will use Nicola's Inn again if in Rome!

Melissa and Francois are excellent hosts! They were very accomodating with our change in schedule due to travel delays. They provided excellent advice and were always available. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The property was always clean - sorry for tracking the recently mopped floor Melissa! Our only negative comment is the street noise - and the "serenading" one night at 1:30 am by locals going home. The location is so close to sites, Metro and bus stop. We would definitely stay at Nicolas Inn again

GREAT place! Spent three nights here, and it did not disappoint. Rooms were clean, Melissa (one of the owners) warmly welcomed us when we arrived, Francois (her husband and the other owner) helped us carry our bags up the stairs, and gave us great tips on Rome. HIGHLY recommended.

My friend and I (both female, early 20s) had a wonderful stay at the Nicolas Inn – or rather stays as we stayed there when we first arrived in Italy and then, after traveling the country, returned for a couple of days before heading home. The Inn itself is in a wonderful location – right in the middle of ancient Rome. It is very clean and very comfortable. The owners are incredibly helpful, as well. They give you great suggestions on everything – including on where to eat – places where there is no English on the menu so that you can get a real “Italian experience.” For breakfast you receive a voucher for a croissant and beverage at a little café downstairs. Very nice! Melissa is originally from Chicago, and as it was our first time traveling out of the country, it was very nice to have an American greet us and help us get adjusted to Italian living. If we ever return to Rome again, we will definitely stay with Melissa and Francois at their lovely Inn!

We loved our stay at Nicolas Inn. We had their smallest room but it was still spacious by european standards. We have been to hotels that moving around the bed requires a "dance". Most importantly the bed was comfortable so we slept very well. The hosts are very helpful and welcoming. It's a level of customer service rarely found in Italy. We enjoyed our breakfast at the bar. What fun to watch the action of the Italians starting their day! The location is perfect.

This was our first trip to Rome. We found the location to be very convenient. Two good blocks from the Colisium, Roman Forum and the Capitoline Museums. Melissa,(who was originaly from the US) the owner, was extremely helpful. She gave specific directions, suggestions for restaurants, how to advoid long lines, and even left ice for our evening indulgence. The room was not very large, but very clean with a nice size bathroom. I would not hesitate to recommend the Nicolas Inn.

Nicolas Inn is the best place to stay in Rome. We had a short time in Rome but they helped us max out our time by sharing some tips to avoid lines. The had a driver meet us at the airport which was wonderful. They even got us a tour at the Vatican that allowed us to avoid the lines. Restaurants they told us about were authentic but very reasonably priced. Little things like suggesting a specific street to walk down while sightseeing allowed us to see things we otherwise would have missed. Enough about Rome. What about Nicolas Inn? The couple that run this establishment truly are wonderful. A lot of thought and care has gone into this place. There is definately a North American touch from Melissa. This is not a bad thing! It is the little touches you do not want to do without like a toliet seat, a shower curtain and a hair dryer with a cord that reaches a mirror. I don't know how long it has been open but it looks newly refurbished with beautiful woodwork and understated decorations. The beds are quite comfy and longer than any other beds we had. The windows are well soundproofed so no problems with noisy Rome. The location is ideal. Just a few minutes from the Coliseum and the Forum. Loads of ruins all around the area. The other sights are not very far on foot. We took the metro to the Vatican but walked everywhere else. Lots of fun boutiques nearby and a great little deli next door. There is an internet cafe around the corner but there is free wireless in the room. Breakfast is at a bar just down the street. Italians have a simple breakfast but we had a huge selection of pastries to choose from. It's fun to watch all the happenings as the locals including many policemen come in for their coffee and chat with other patrons and staff. All in all a great stay. We hope to be back.

We loved our stay! The owners are a delight. We received a big welcome and it was nice that they knew us by name. The rooms are nicer than shown in the pictures. Our room had a beautiful black iron bed - very classy. Nicolas Inn should receive an award for best water pressure in Europe. The showers here are great! The area near the Coliseum is great. We walked all over Rome. There is nothing better than seeing the Coliseum every day - that's why you're in Rome, right? There are tons of little boutiques in the area - bonus points for shoppers. If you stay here be sure to have Melisa and Francois make reservations for you a the family run restaurant nearby - THE BEST! Our coins are in Trevi so we will be back!

We had a fantastic stay thanks to the helpful owners of Nicolas Inn. The rooms are well appointed with all the conveniences you expect to find at a large hotel. We were thrilled to find out that they are also equipped with free wireless internet. The location of the Nicolas Inn is perfect. It is right in the heart of Ancient Rome. Two thumbs up!

It is like staying with friends. The couple that own the place are amazing. They tell you the insiders way to see the attractions and the best places to eat. I have recommended this place to everyone I know. By far the best place we stayed at in italy. We stayed at multiple 4 and 5 star hotels and this place was by far the best. The room was as modern as the Westin in Florence.

I would like to clone these people, and then have them run a B&B at every location I'd ever like to visit for the rest of my life. There are not enough positive things that can be said.

Le stanze sono un po' troppo piccole e vanno lasciate troppo presto al mattino (ore 11.00). Per il resto tutto corrisponde a quanto promesso in web.
