reception
The building, which dates from the 12th century, housed a girls boarding school in the 1800's. Closed for the last ten years, the site was recently restored to its former splendor and prepared for its present use thanks to the Iacopini family who has been its proprietor for many years.
This work has left unaltered the original structure of the building, and has successfully created an elegant, charming residence in the heart of Lucca's historic city center.
The entrance hall, breakfast room, bar and lobby are tastefully decorated with fine fixtures and upholstery in elegant pastel hues.
Near Parking.
Breakfast, a buffet of fresh, local products, is presented in harmonious style and elegance with services of fine silver, crystal and porcelain.

Known today as the Palazzo Alexander, the residence encompasses four floors of rooms and apartaments, all with modern, private bathrooms - some with whirlpool baths.
In addition, all rooms contain such conveniences as satellite television, telephones, hairdryers and computer hook-ups.
The décor of the residence reflects the noble Lucchese style with the use of antique wood floors in all the bedrooms and fine marble and other local stones in the bathrooms, lobby and common rooms.

The decor at this hotel was a bit naff, but I only rented the room! However it was spotlessly clean, we had a large room with windows on two walls, clean sheets & towels every day and a good breakfast. Our emergency, husbands crown snapped off,(not fell off) receptionist found us an english speaking dentist, made an appointment and booked us a taxi, what more could we have asked for?

Very convenient location, inside the walls of the city and easy to access from the bus station or, as we did, by taxi from the train station. Lucca is a lovely town, and the staff were extremely helpful in recommending a restaurant to us on Monday evening as most of the restaurants close on Monday.

Lucca is a superb place - hadn't really heard much about it before this trip but we will be back. Palazzo is a nice small hotel - staff very helpful and their restuarant recommendations are superb. Rooms a decent size - old fashioned decor adds to the Lucca experience.

A comfortable hotel in a great city. Staff was attentive. In room AC worked well but was very loud. Lavish breakfast. Biggest bathrooms we had in Italy.

I thought I was staying in a 5 star hotel! The staff was exceptionally warm, friendly, knowledgable (great restaurant recommendations!). The room was lovely and the fresh fruit left in the room each day made me feel very special. The breakfast was delicious and professionally served. This hotel will also be on my all time best hotels list and I will recommend it highly to everybody.

Very nice room, almost luxurious, great staff and great breakfast. Not cheap for this part of Italy, but worth the price.
