There was a peculiar smell in the room which we reported to the reception and she told me to tell someone about it the next day. Nothing was done.
A very noisy customer was shouting at 4 in the morning one night and banging the next night.
Otherwise - very good, very central.

Great hotel, little noisy at nighttime but the location and price makes up for it. Enjoyed the rooftop pool. Only quibble was the room stank of smoke when we arrived and took a day or two to go. This may be my fault not requesting a non smoking room. Otherwise excellent.

A nice hotel with basic modern rooms and friendly staff. Rooms have quiet fans to help with the Tenerife heat. A good location, close to the the main square (and the excelent Tapas Arcon) and a short walk from the bus station.
What you want to know is what we didn't like:
- Noise. Not from the town but from the hotel kitchen. We were awoken every day by the noise of breakfast being prepared.
- Which was ironic because breakfast isn't something to look forward to. A reasonabable standard euro-buffet is offered in a cramped sterile room. It would be very easy to add a bit more Spanish flavour to breakfast, improve the room and allow breakfast to be taken in the more attractive loby areas.
- Cleaning lacked attention to detail. Room was very clean on arrival but sand in the bed when we went out was still in the bed under a neatly made cover when we returned. Soap not replenished in the bathroom.
- View. At this price you don't get one.
These are small niggles in what was a reasonable stay but they'd be easy to address.
Puerto de la Cruz is a nice town and and a good centre for a holiday. It has plenty of places to eat and drink and retains some Spanish character.

Really good central place to stay, everything in Puerto is within walking distance. Pretty quiet place and staff are really helpful.

We were really satisfied with Gema Puerto. Everything worked well, workers were friendly and helpfull, the restaurant (at breakfast) was clean and quiet and our room was also clean and comfortable. Only not so excellent thing was the pillow, witch was not softly enough. Location of this hotel was just great! Everything was near. I really can recommend Gema Puerto to everyone and I´m sure I will come back to this hotel, if we some day will go back to Puerto de la Cruz. Thank You!!!
