Mario and Luisa are great hosts and informative. Luisa brought in breakfast every morning. We had a great stay and the B&B was terrific. We had a room with a sofa and flat screen tv, ocean view with a patio. The pictures didn't do it justice. Loved it...we had a choice of rooms, too...could send emails during the day... or look up information...
would stay there again if we went back to Positano...

We really enjoyed our stay at La Rosa dei venti. We were there for 8 nights. Mario and his family makes you feel very welcome. They greet you as you leave and welcome you when you return. They are very accomodating! The residence is in a quiet part of Positano, away from the traffic (which can be noisy). We didn't here any traffic noises from our room. There are many restaurants and a little grocery store in walking distance. Several tv stations are available in English as well. We stayed in the Tremontana room which had a nice view and was very clean. My only complaint would be the bed was extremely hard. Otherwise, a wonderful place to stay and priced very well!
If you have a car, park in the Milano Garage which is less than a 5 minute walk to the La Rosa dei Venti.
The La Rosa dei Venti is near the top of Poistano, and the beach is hundreds of steps down. We took the steps down a couple of times as it is faster, but only took them up once! You can also take the roads up which is a little easier on the knees. There are also taxi's and buses that run in the area.

Stayed at La Rosa Dei Venti mid-Oct for a vacation with my boyfriend - was absolutely gorgeous. Our room was Scirocco - could not have asked for a better room for the price. Small kitchen we never used aside for chilling beer - clean bathroom - clean and spacious bedroom - absolutely magnificent view from the balcony. Mario and the staff were most accommodating. Breakfast was sent directly to the room so we could eat on the balcony every morning. Staying for 4 days and definitely could have stayed forever.
Note: we rented a car from Naples and drove into Positano. Got a little lost but locals were very nice. If you are driving in - once you turn onto the street that takes you into Positano, park at the second parking garage called Parcheggio Milano (on left hand side of street). Tell them you're staying at La Rosa Dei Venti and you'll have to walk your bags down a good number of stairs to reach the B&B. i.e. The B&B is not on the main road.

We stayed at La Rosa Dei venti for 4 days and it was the best part of my one month european holiday. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, nothing was a problem. The room and bathroom were very spacious, spotless and nicely furnished. We felt very comfortable from the minute we stepped in. The hotel is located in fornillo, not the main beach, we found Fornillo to actually be nicer then the main beach in Positano, so the location was perfect, not too many steps to the beach, or the restaurants located higher up, also a nice walk into Positano. Our room was really quiet with an excellent view from the good sized balcony. Breakfast was served every morning whenever you like, and was fresh. Our stay here could not be faulted and I will definitely book this hotel again when I return to Positano. I think this hotel would suot anyone

A wonderful welcome from the hosts...told us to make ourselves comfortable, enjoy the day and do the registration later...this was great since we had a rather hot and long journey from naples. Fantastic and cheerful service everyday. Great and private view of the sea we enjoyed everyday. We appreciated that it was in a place with a few rooms in a neighbourhood setting away from the crowds yet not far from the beach.

We had a very pleasant stay, the view was wonderful and the apartment was nice and comfortable, big enough and clean.
Only points of comment.
Breakfast could be better next time, suggestions - fresh orange juice, boiled egg, cheese.
Route description to your Hotel. It was a little difficult to find. A better sign in the corner on the road that’s more significant.
kind regards, Chris & Marianne

We had a beautiful stay in La Rosa Dei Venti. The family that runs the place is very welcoming and befriend us like we knew each other. Our only problem was the breakfast. You expect more quality in Europe with the amount of different foods. The bread was not eatable and very little variety. Also, be ready to walk the steps to the beach. They didnt' tell us about the lift at La Vittoria hotel until the last day there. They view was the best and it was very clean.

La Rosa Dei Venti was a wonderful place to stay. Everything was immaculate and we appreciated the small kitchen and extra space. It's located in the older section of Positano which seems quieter than the hotels. There are a few stairs from the road to the doorstep (30). We found the road the easier way to the town center although the 400 stairs to the surf gave us exercise when we wanted. Positano was one of our favorites places and we would highly recommend La Rosa as a great value. We will stay there again.

A great place to stay and explore the Amalfi coast. Mario & his staff were exceptionally helpful. Our room was spacious with a great balcony and view over roof tops to the ocean. There are no public areas, just a reception desk but that was fine by us. A continental breakfast is served in your room at your convenience. Although not in the centre of town it is only a 15 minute walk passing plenty of great restaurants, little shops and great views or you can catch the local bus which passes every 15 minutes.

A charming place to stay being in the older part of Positana. It is a bit of a hike with cases/bags to get to the hotel door - 100m but nearly all stairs. But the upside us that these stairs are winding around old houses and overlooking the bay so it is a great walk.
It is a difficult spot if you wanted to swim every day but there is a lift facility at the nearby Hotel Vittoria which La Rosa guests can use - only if you pay for an umbrella/deckchair spot or want at a meal at the beach restaurant - "La Pepppitta".
There are plenty of restaurants nearby back up the stairs from La Rosa so no need to track into the newer more touristy parts of Positano just for a meal. We used the local bus which came nearly every 15 minutes to get to the busier area if we were feeling too lazy to walk along the pathways - which also only took about 15/20 minutes but a lot of steps along the way when walking.
Mario speaks good English and was very helpful arranging good taxi fares for us - seemed to get very prices!
The breakfast was adequete and delivered to the rooms - and as all rooms have balconies and good views of part of the bay it was a treat to enjoy breakfast on the balcony. Certainly recommend this place to others who like to get away from the tourist glare.

This is a very quiet residence with 6 rooms. All with breathtaking views of the Bay. All rooms are very large and clean. Breakfast is brought to you each morning on your terrace overlooking the bay! If coming from Naples, be sure to plan your way there ahead of time. Overall it is a piece of heaven.

This was by far the best place we stayed during our 2 week trip to Italy. The apartment was very clean & spacious, with an entry room, bedroom, full kitchen, large bathroom, and private patio. The place was nicely furnished and looked like it had been recently remodeled. The view from the patio was great, you could see the ocean, coast, and hills below. Good standard breakfast was served on the patio. The hostess (forgot her name) was very friendly and helpful. Steps down from the hotel led to Fornillo Beach (the less crowded and nicer of the 2 Positano beaches). A/C, television, phone, even ice cubes in the freezer (hard to come by in Italy)! Also got a 10 Euro discount per night, for paying in cash. Four thumbs up!

The room and location were wonderful and we greatly enjoyed our stay here. The local restaurants and shops were excellent and the central area of Positano wasn't far away. We'll definitely stay here again next time.

My husband and I stayed in the Tramontana room in June 2004. We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the accommodation and the service. Our balcony was very pretty and the breakfast (served on a tray to our room) was excellent. The owner/staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We are planning on visiting Positano again next year and will definitely try to book a room at 'La Rosa'.

Wonderful place to stay. Owner has done a beautiful job on the apartment. Very welcoming. Even gave us a bottle of wine. When we needed something, like special cookware, he provided it. Owner helped us with tranportation arrangements when leaving.
