Hotel was absolutely perfect for a family with a couple of kids, Didnt get to use the pool because there were so many attractions in La Rochelle. A small walk into the town but the choice of shuttle boat or walk around by the markets was a pleasant one. Staff were friendly and our late arrival was handled very well with a call and a text from the manager to show us how to access the room after reception was closed. It didnt exactly work out but some friendly people helped us out. Breakfasts were fine but you would want to be there a bit before 10 as things started to run out. Will definitely use this hotel again. (Was a bit of street noise one night but it faded away about 11.30.)

The Residence Appart'Hotel and staff were great but the area surrounding the hotel was a bit barren and very industrial. The route from the centre of La Rochelle back to the Hotel in evenings was quite dark and very quiet and we had to walk as no bus or taxi unless you walked in the opposite direction to find bus depot or taxi rank (the water bus only takes you to the point where it is dark and quiet). Being two women on their own we found the walk a bit daunting.

We didn't stay at Residence Appart'Hotel Archipel and had been moved in Domaine du Château - Residence Lagord so we can't judge the first hotel.

I was quiet unlucky during the night I spent in the hotel, since there was a lot of noise till 5 Am !!!! (group discussion around the swinmming pool then group discussion on the balcony just above my apartment). However, the staff was willing to solve the problem. I contact them too late in the morning. Except this problem, it is a good choice.

Very nice hotel, but situated some way off the main track. Not well signposted. However we like walking and enjoyed getting the water taxi across to the harbour - 60cents. And we do like walking. Query - In our apartment we had 2 plates, 2 cups, 2 saucers, 2 knives, 2 teaspoons, 2 forks, 2 glasses, a saucepan, a frying pan, a carving knife and a tin opener. Also a dishwasher! I don't understand the logic there.
