The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, it has beautiful views, but it is VERY inconveniently located, and one of the direction signs on the island, midway up to the hotel, points the way in exactly the opposite direction. It is a bit of a dangerous climb as well, because the pedestrian path often vanishes, and local traffic has no idea of traffic rules and no respect for pedestrians. It is so steep at the end it's next to impossible to climb it with any luggage, and their 'shuttle'(an old banger, van-type) is not very convenient. Rooms were very spacious and very clean and beautiful, you get gorgeous views off your little personal balcony, but you can't help hearing/seeing what the neighbours are doing if they are in the next room, or on their own balcony. And you could hear their tv very well through the wall. Also at night there were LOADS of very painfully biting flying bugs(not mosquitoes), so I'd recommend bringing an insect repellent. At least they were there in early September, when we stayed there. And the cockerels - could be very romantic for some, and I didn't mind, but they kept waking my husband up with their early morning crowing. The food wasn't very good, actually it was quite bad, breakfast is included in the price, so you sort of have to have it there, but I wouldn't recommend eating dinner there. The staff seem to speak some German, the whole island seems to be very popular with the Germans, but nearly no-one speaks any English. It would have been a better stay if the town was a bit more interesting, there is not enough going on there, unfortunately. The hotel's pool was superb! It seems to be a good place for a family holiday, esp. if you rented a car, but not interesting or convenient enough for young and adventurous people.

Beautiful setting, but is up a steep hill. Nice, clean rooms, very friendly staff. Had a very enjoyable stay.

A lovely apartment but it located on top of a very steep hill and it is approx 800m and not 400m from centre of Forio. Also there was not much english spoken in the apartment.

La Rosa is a beautiful residence with friendly and helpful staff and a lovely atmosphere. We had the perfect honeymoon there!

Good shuttle service to the beach and into the centre of Forio - once you have found the residence. But for travellers without own car, there should be a pick up service from the marina. Guests with room booking (not apartment) did not get croissants for breakfast.

We were very impressed by the family who ran Residence La rosa, they were welcoming and warm - who did everything they could to make our stay an enjoyable one in the short time we were there. I would recommend this location to everyone. The views from the rooms were fantasic - we couldn't have choosen a better place to stay onthe Isle of Ischa.

Up a very high hill but we were picked up from the lower town by the owner. The big surprise that we didn't know from the webpage was that their pool was heated (with natural spring waters?), perfect for mid-October. We were also offered to be picked up by the owner anytime (until 11pm or 12am I think) from the lower part of the mountain so we didn't have to walk all the way up. We were also given a phone card so we can call them from a phone booth. Nice large private terrace. Well worth the cost.

Fine clean rooms with own terrace with wonderful view over the village and the sea and sunsets. The thermal pool is wonderfull. There are 200 meters of steep street. The hotel offers a Taxi service to the port without charge. We enjoyed it very much.

In my opinion La Rosa offers great value for money, spotless rooms in a family atmosphere, with great views.

We stayed 5 nights in La Rosa. The hotel arranged to collect us at the jetty and took us back there when we were leaving which was very helpful. La Rosa is on the very edge of town about a third of the way up a steep mountain with excellent views and very clean accommodation. Staff were helpful and friendly though only the manager/owner speaks much English. The hotel provides a courtesy minibus service to and from the nearest supermarket which meant that we did not have to undertake any steep climbs back to the hotel. From there it was a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main shopping area so be prepared for a bit of walking. On the down side the hotel did not sell any snacks or cooked food during the day. The only other problem was that there were 6 budgies in a cage by the entrance that began to chirp at around 6am and a large dog that barked loudly half the night. If you want any sleep bring earplugs! Other than that - excellent value for money.
