The owner left for Rome as we arrived and I believe that the staff was just a bit lax in the wake of her departure. The room was perfect size for us, but had a view of walls. The name for our room was weird, the Camel Room and it had a pack of cigarettes on the mantel. A turnoff for non smokers, though it did not smell of smoke. On the other hand it was very quiet and dark at night. The hotel has an aura of strength, almost like a castle, though we stayed in other places that were less expensive and equally pleasant.

The Drawing suite is very ample and features black walls with chalk-white themes, ancient Venitian styled mosaic marble floors, three ample windows looking over Via della Scala with draped water green pure silk taffeta and a comfortable sofa with a small ancient table.
The accommodation has two queen size beds and pieces of old Chinese furniture from the owner's collection. A children room with a big green velvet sofa-bed is also available. The private bathroom features comfortable shower and separate WC.
The room offers individually controlled air conditioning, LCD flat screen 30" TV with satellite channels and tea & coffee making facilities.
