Have stayed at this hotel a few times I like the location close to the railway station and lots of good bars and restaurants close by. This time they wanted to give me a room at the Regina Hotel next door I refused so they had to find me a room there the room was not very nice a very small single, don't think I will stay there again will stay at the Portici better value and very chic, one more thing reception staff not too nice.

This hotel caters every clientele who has chosen an urban environment. Bologna is a very old, beautiful town, whith many, many beautiful, old buildings and churches, arts and so on. And it´s very sad that the italientourist has missed it. Bologna is one of my favorit italien cities. Zanhotel Tre Vecchi is near the railwaystation (with an rollersuitcase, it´s a 10 minutes walk to the hotel). From Tre Vecci (which has a small garden and a few garden furnitures) you can walk throught the rest of the town.We have only take a sightseeing trip through the city to be updated. Tips:there is so mucht to look at in Bologna and in every district. There is so many, many museum, buildings, that you have to choose what you shall visit an look at. You can´t see it all! Bologna has records in arcades! Nice when it´s HOT weather. Bologna is a very cosy town.Get an good review before your trip, what you are intrested in. But take a look at the public libary!!! Take a trip to the monister/church San Luca, one and a half hours trip (=WALK =one way)through the worlds longest arcad (666, yes, just like the beast in the Bible). The final approximatley 300 arcades is faily a steep hill, because the San Luca is in top of the mountain Colle della Guardia = a beautiful, but tired walk. And of course, like in the whole Italy, visit all the churches, beautiful art! Take a daytrip to Parma or Ravenna by train, it´s VERY cheep and only one hours traintrip from Bologna and whith the train you step directly in the city of any italien towns! Bologna has the oldest university and that´s something which also has issue the town. It´s and very old, modern town.

Due to previous comments, we Emailed our car registration number to the hotel prior to arrival. The staff had already notified the commune of our details when I checked. If you arriving by any car, rental or other, just give the registration number to the front desk as hotel guests are allowed to enter the traffic restricted area around Bologna - not, however, in the small traffic free T- section surrounding the main piazzas. The rooms were lovely, as was the buffet breakfast, and excellent value for money. A good central position

I used to stay here a lot for work but I'm boycotting them from now on they last time I booked there, they debited my credit card for the total amount 2 days before we were due to stay there! This was the first time they did this and I was annoyed as I have stayed there a lot.

Excellent hotel, ideally located to visit the town. Spacious rooms, comparatively quiet if you consider the hotel location on a very busy central street. The staff is willing to spend hours on the phone to help you reach the hotel without being fined (the system of restricted traffic is a nightmare). My favourite stay in Bologna.

Nice position, good breakfast, but rooms and corridors are a bit shabby. By sure, not the best hotel in Bologna.

Hotel Zanhotel Tre Vecchi DID NOT meet our expectation because there is very bad air conditioning in rooms. We and our friends requested to change our rooms but the situation with the air conditioning remained unsolved. Both our rooms were very hot.It was absolutey impossible to rest.

We booked one double and one triple room and our three teenage boys were relieved when there were three single beds in the triple room, rather than one double and one single. It was an easy walk (pulling luggage) from the railway station and everything went very smoothly. The hotel is well located between the railway station and the city centre and the breakfast was good. We enjoyed our first visit to Bologna and would stay at the Tre Vecci again.

This was my first visit to Bologna, Hotel Tre Vecchi- turned out to be a more than reasonable place to stay- 5 minutes walking from the station and the city center. I'd recommend staying here to just about anyone, but make sure that the room you get has good airconditioning- some rooms' air-con is a bit antiquated. I got my room changed and from then on things were great!

I was very disapponted by the qulaity of the welcome from the member of staff on reception. I was also disapponted that no ironing facility was available on arrival either in the room or through reception.

Our room was hot and the aircon unit was at least 20yrs old and long overdue for cleaning. The vents were choked with filth and so was the fan as the air flow was weak. Management and staff were well aware of the problem and unsympathetic. Their only response was that "They also HAD to work there" - no alternative room was offered. With the sash window open there was a lot of street noise which lasted until 0200 and started again at 0430 when it got light. The info says that the Hotel is 150m from the station - it was a brisk 15mins walk without luggage and a 6.50 Euro taxi ride with our bags. This was the worst night of our holiday. We would not stay there again.

Perfectly located between the train station and Old Bologna. Helpful staff - although not always friendly.Excellent outdoor seating area in the front of the building. We had very poor air conditioning in both of our rooms; even though we asked for help, it never improved.

The hotel was OK, but the room assigned was poor -- a fair number of rooms are "inside" -- the window opens to a shaft to which other room windows also open. There are "better" rooms but these are not offered at the web site so you are likely to be stuck in a substandard room unless you ask for other than the basic accommodation. The set up is not good for quiet. Also, even though temperatures required A/C, and A/C was in the room, the A/C was not operational. Not a good a choice if you are truly looking for a 4 star (or 3 star) property.

Located very close to Piazza Maggiore the impressive main square but still comfortable enough, with good instructions, to find by car. Rooms are large and well decorated as are bathrooms. Reception area not large but hardly matters with so much to see in this city. Breakfast buffet excellent, great choice cereals, breads, danish, meats & some hot choices. Would return to this hotel. Excellent restaurant "Il Colombino" on Via D`Azaglio (€45pp).

Good location but old hotel in desperate need of a makeover. Rooms big but the first night we were next to some ventilation equipment and the noise was very annoying, asked for a room change but hotel was full, next night the room was better and more quiet.

I am not very satisfied. It is not comparable to a 4 stars hotel in the centre. According to me it is a 3 stars hotel.

The size and design of the bathroom could be better. The shower was small and located closely to the W.C.. During my stay there were major road works ongoing outside the hotel which created intrusive noise and the work started early in the morning.
