I've been in Bologna for the Half-Marathon (beginning of September) together with my wife. The hotel is far from city center but bus stop is close to th exit and in 20 minutes we got to Bologna main attractions. The room was cleaned, large and totally noiseless. Internet point in the hall is for free and people are really kind. The breakfast, included in the price, is really pleantiful and good. I suggest this hotel.

Perfect and tidy hotel, even better than 3star, a bit far away but: quiet! and: busstation direct next to the door with only 15 min. to the center, climatized an everytime on schedule! So more than ideal to stay there!

This hotel is a perfectly designed Italian middle-class hotel (with regards to facilities) with high-class room and food quality - for Italian standard. We paid 33€ for the room incl. breakfast. It was the cheapest and the best quality hotel during these two weeks vacation. Within a stone throw to Bologna and the airport, but not easy to find. Poor street signs.

The hotel was amazing! Great, helpful staff...wonderful FREE breakfast, tidy rooms. The location was prime for us too because it got us a little away from the city noise and such. The bus drops you right in front of the hotel, which was convenient. 100% recommend the hotel!

The Imperial is located on the outskirts of town but has a bus stop right outside the hotel and is very regular, every 20 minutes and on time. It was a great way to see your way around Bologna on your way into town. Make sure you try the tortellini, bolognese of course and bolito misto. Also there is great gelato on the square behind the two leaning towers.

I had stayed at this hotel in August and what a decline, there are currently many construction workers that are working on the hotel extension staying there. They are a bunch of noisy arrogant rude I could go on for weeks. they have NO REGARD for hotel guests and conducted themselves disgracefully blatently smoking in non smoking rooms areas and hallways. They were drunk and very noisy after 3 phonecalls to reception the last being at 0200hrs they finally quietened down a little. My advice to travellers is do not use this hotel until construction is complete, prior to this I would have scored this hotel 9/10 at present sadly 2/10

Would have been a fantastic stay if the sheets had been clean. They were used, filthy and smelly. Staff refused to change them and said the sheets are changed only every second day and if I wanted to get clean ones I would have to pay 10€ extra, also because I'm staying with the cheapest room rate. Sorry, but no matter how cheap a room is, I'm expecting at least a clean bed.

Staff, especially reception, were very helpful and curtious. Very clean and modern, breakfast really good with lots of choice. Rooms were spacious, quiet and immaculate, breakfast was as expected, and the hotel staff efficient and friendly. The hotel is out of the centre of the city, but it is an easy and cheap 20 minute bus ride from right outside the front door to the station. If you want to stay right in the city centre, then choose another hotel. Otherwise, it is impossible to fault this hotel for the price that you pay.

Hotel Imperial was a very nice hotel, and offered a good breakfast. The bus ride in to the city centre took 15 min, and buses ran quite often. Taxi from city centre was about 13 euros, so not too expensive. The room was clean, nice bathroom, and acess to internet, either in the hotel lobby or wireless. 5 nights for 177 euros is very cheap, I would stay in this hotel again.

First problem: Hotel is at least a 30 miinute bus ride from the central station--far from the main part of city. It is at the last stop of bus line #25 and if you're not careful you can end up taking the bus in the wrong direction. Second problem: Situated in what appears to be an industrial area and there is construction going on all around it. Looks like a war zone in a third world country--no exaggeration! Did not feel safe. Room was quite small and minimially decorated--reminded us of a small room on a cruise ship. Shower door broken. Seems to appeal to business travelers not tourists. Breakfast was generous but very automated--push a button on a machine for the type of coffee you wanted--does not have a personal touch. We paid 99 Euro with a no cancellation policy. Overpriced. A rip-off. Big mistake. I paid more than is atually listed on on the web site at this time. Would never, ever recommend it to anyone.

We've stayed one nigth in Bologna and it was very nice. The hotel imperial is a very good place. The breakfast buffet is very varied and abundant. The location is very faraway from to the center downtown, but there is a bus (number 25) that it goes from the hotel door to the center downtown in almost 25 min. It is necessary to known its timetable to move in Bologna.

ok, this was a last minute booking while we were in bologna. The room itself was awesome. The bathroom was big and a big shower 3 weeks into vacation this was a delight. A fridge and actual channels that had english speaking programs yea!.We were happy about room. Directions and location, a bit out of way we got so lost, and bad directions off web site. they have a restaurant and since we were so tired we went there and were served frozen (stoffer) type dinners for the same price as restaurants cooking fresh. It was aweful why even bother. This ruined our 1 night in Bologna (known for some of the best food) go out! the breakfast served though was awesome! A complete 360. I would stay for a stop over but not extended because it isn't near anything. The price for the room and breakfast was great. We met some great people from Napa, ca who had the same dinner experience and we had a good laugh.

If you don't mind being away from the heart of Bologna then this hotel offers outstanding value for money. The hotel itself is a short bus trip of about 15 minutes from outside the railway station and stops directly outside the hotel. The bus service operates every few minutes. The hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean. Rooms are large and very well equiped. Staff were extremely helpful, efficient and welcoming. Breakfast is excellent but the other meals, ordered from the Bar, are not up to the same standard. There are very few shops or resturaunts near the hotel so don't rely on stopping off for a meal or snack on the way.

A very nice little hotel convenient to Bologna. We stayed only one night en route to Berlin from Naples. Our room was beautifully furnished with hardwoods, and the bathroom was done with very nice marble tile. The walls, however, were fairly thin and in the bathroom we could unwittingly make out the conversations of our neighbors.

Excellent hotel. We used this hotel on our way between Venice and Florence for a stopover after staying late in the day in Venice. It was the perfect location (off main highway) for our itinerary. The concierge gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner not far from the hotel, and we enjoyed eating a delicious dinner with the locals. The hotel rooms are lined in beautiful woods and the large bathrooms appear recently updated with tastefully selected fixtures and tiles. Everything bright and clean. Contemporary and functional decor. Free parking on site and wireless internet were bonuses. Would not hesitate to recommend this quality hotel.

This place was fantastic value. Very nice clean rooms with spacious bathroom and comfy bed. Fabulous breakfast with warm pastries, fruit salad, cheese and hams, yoghurt, cereal, juice etc. For 41 euros a double this place is great value. The only drawback is that it is not near the old town, but it is so easy on the bus that it hardly matters. Just go out of the train station, cross the road, go down to the right a few meters and you are at the stop for the No. 25 (Via del Gomito) bus which stops right out the front of the hotel. And when you are heading back into town it drops you right at the main Piazza. Too easy!

We had been stayed at the Imperial two nights and it is just much value for the money. The room and toilette were very spaciousness and it had fit in 4 stars hotel. The breakfast was very delicious with a big variety of the different food and it had been included in the price of the room. The buss connection to the city was very good as well because buss station is just in the front of the hotel and the buss takes you to the city center. We used the buss instead for car second day of our stay 'cause it is cheaper and more convenient. The only thing which is a bit disturbing is a ugly surrounding but thinking on everything the hotel provides to one for the quoted price it is VERY WORTH to stay there. I should point that we had been there with a child (5 y.o.)and it was very convenient and children up to 12 y.o. stay there for free if they

First of all, this hotel has some major advantages: air conditioning, free WI-FI internet connection, and a private bathroom in each room. These three things alone would normally triple the price of a room closer to the center of town. Depending on how much you value these amenities, the trip out to Hotel Imperial may be worth it. This hotel is on the outskirts of Bologna-- the #25 bus is very conveniently located, but it takes about 20-30 minutes to get into the center of town. Some travelers might like to know that the #25 bus stops at the train station, so it would be easy to catch the bus to the hotel. The location of the Imperial is unfortunate, especially since there is NOTHING near the hotel (except for what appears to be a broken-down car lot, some corn fields, and a falling-in barn). The hotel offers food services, but it is overpriced, rather tasteless fare reheated out of the deep freezer. In a city known for great food this is nothing short of a disaster. That said, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, and you really can't beat the price. But if you want to soak up the nightlife of Bologna I would look elsewhere.

One of the best hotels on our Tuscany trip. The hotel is brand-new and therefore clean and up to standards (aircon etc.). Breakfast is very generous and staff is nice. Free internet is also included. The int and ext design of the hotel is very simple, sometimes resembling a better hostel, but during our two-night stay we could live with that. The price/quality ratio is outstanding.

Difficult to tell from the map on the site exactly how far out of town this hotel is! This wasn't a problem as the number 25 bus stops at the hotel door EXCEPT for when the buses were on strike! The room were lovely and staff very friendly. Excellent breakfast, wonderful service.

Excellent quality for the price, i.e. if you're aware of the location of the hotel outside the tangenziale. Good bus schedule with the bus stop just outside the hotel and possibility to buy tickets (1 euro) in the reception. Only one complaint: A better map is needed, we took via Stalingradi in the wrong direction and needed one and a half hour to reach the hotel instead of five minutes! Use the map which the hotel has on their cards!!

Excellent room and staff. Clean, quiet (as it is outside city centre). A 15 minute bus ride to and from the central station, and the bus stops right outside the hotel's gates (no need to worry about getting off at the right stop because the hotel is the end of the line, and the bus stays put for about 5 minutes). The same bus takes you back into town. When arriving from the central train station, make sure you get the right number 25 bus (look for "via del Gomito" on the front of the bus). The bus stop is located, with the station to your back, to the right and across the main street from the station. Take time to read the bus stop route signs and you will not go wrong.

The location was convenient to access the city as the bus stop was out front. The price was a little high for where it was located. But the buffet breakfast was nice. Unfortunately the barking dogs made it hard to sleep. The pictures on the internet made the rooms look alot bigger and nicer. (Below it asks if I would be interested in receiving a newsletter about selected events and I checked NO. But it won't let me continue until I check a box in number 2 & 3. So I will check something just to get out of this but I don't want to receive anything.)

The hotel apparently lost our reservation even after it was confirmed by Venere. Fortunatelly there were rooms available but it was not a nice experience.

A little out of town but great quality accomodations - nice rooms with modern decor. Excellent breakfast and very reasonable price. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel but the service is sometimes irregular.

The pluses: Rooms new and quiet and clean. The breakfasts were outstandingly good. Wide range of choices and the quantity was unlimited. Extra blankets, soap provided on request.Free internet access. Help provided with most direct routes to neighbouring towns for sightseeing.Really impressed with the "extras" provided (eg. we asked to use two cups in order to make tea; they provided cups, saucers, milk, tea bags, hot water all on a tray for us every night.)In addition, I left my jug behind and received an e-mail asking me what I wanted the staff to do about it. Staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful in arranging tours. The bus to the city centre leaves from directly outside the hotel and was frequent and cheap. We could buy tickets from the hotel for the bus. The service started early and continued till late at night.Excellent value all round. Would stay there again. Minuses: Note: only take the bus Number 25 with Gomito on the front to return to the hotel, NOT Domito unless you want to visit the sleazier side of town and take two hours to do it!!!Too far to walk from town to hotel, but bus services frequent.

Colazione ottima, varia ed abbondante. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo e pulizia molto accurata.

We enjoyed very much the friendliness of the staff, and the marvellous breakfast as well! Only one thing was missing: these was no window we could open in our room! Everything else was just great!

I stayed all over Italy for a week... yet no other property compared to the Imperial. The property is beautiful and well priced! I would recommend staying there. The hotel rooms and the loddy area are beautiful, and the location is great. Also the locations provided by the hotel are great!

Ideal hotel if you have a car and intend to make trips from there. Rooms, service, breakfast and facilities (even internet connection) are all excellent. Very low rates since hotel is not near the center, but this can be an advantage too, see above.

It was an excellent hotel in suburbian area of Bologna. All offers were peferct and the price was allready fine for this category. Breakfast was every day a highlight of the day. All you need and a free internet connection in the lobby of the hotel. Be aware of expansive taxi rate at night. We pay 12.59 Euro for 5 (!!!) minute Taxi drive! (This has nothing to do with hotel imperial)
