Hotel Portonuovo Vieste - Venere.com hotel outside The hotel Portonuovo is situated in the beautiful Portonuovo bay, 4 km south of Vieste and 150 metres from the beach, overlooking the Portonuovo small island, a landscape of absolute beauty.

The property has been entirely rebuilt and widened inside a private pine-wood of around 20.000 sqm., near the beach.

The structure is fully air conditioned and features an Internet Point, a restaurant, a swimming pool, a tennis court, two bars and a private beach.

The reception desk is open 24 hours a day from May till October.

Very pleased with the spacious beach facilities and we never felt we were packed in like sardines, even in August. Close to Vieste(by car)for dinner at night.

Wonderful pool. Short walk to beach. The hotel is next to olive grove and very comfortable. We enjoyed the town of Vieste with it numerous places to dine. No problem parking down town at night. Would go back in a heart beat.

Vieste is a jewel of a city worthy of a return visit. We only regret not being able to stay longer, in order to visit the caves. The hotel is a bit isolated to go places on foot, with the exception of the beach. But as you will have to reach it by car anyway, this is not a valid drawback. And Vieste is only 4 kilometers away. We only had an excellent breakfast at Hotel Portonuovo, with cold and hot food.

The big restaurant has a wide selection of excellent food and good Appullian wines, and service is prompt and very friendly. However, mature couples who are looking for peace and quiet and who like to dine in a quietish atmosphere in the evening might prefer a stay at the hotel outside those holiday periods when families with young children share the restaurant, as it can get quite loud in there when the children get excited or upset.

The public rooms whilst very spacious are a little too minamalist and hence echo any noise. The assistance offered by management and reception staff was outstanding. Catering was excellent and very good value. We enjoyed havgin a balcony off the room. A very happy choice of hotel!!!

New hotel (june 2004), so in general it's nice. However, pls note it's a good 5 km out of Vieste center (1 hour walking) and public transport is scarce (taxi is 20 euros!). Good place for families, but a bit too quiet for couples/young people.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
From the North: proceed along the highway A14 until reaching the exit Poggio Imperiale. Continue straight ahead for about 100 km, following the indications for Vieste.
From the South: take the highway A14 until the exit Cerignola Est.
