| The hotel Kaiserpark-Schönbrunn is situated right in front of Schönbrunn Palace, one of Vienna's most interesting historical buildings. The city centre and the main sights, such as St. Stephans Cathedral and the Imperial Palace, can be easily reached by underground (the nearest underground station is about 100 metres away) in around 7 minutes. |
|
double room
The hotel offers elegantly furnished and comfortable single and double rooms, each featuring private bathroom with hairdryer, Internet access, radio, direct dial telephone, cable TV, mini bar and heating facilities. Most rooms are furthermore equipped with safe and air-conditioning.
Additionally, the hotel offers non-smoking rooms.

Clean average hotel outside the city center, but accessible by metro; stone's throw to the Schonbrunn but not a good restaurant nearby; the internet connection is also appallingly unreliable - it shuts off after 5 min and you cannot get back on until at least 30 min later; another bad thing is that smoking and non-smoking rooms are together in the same floor; I could see myself returning ONLY if there is a separate NON-smoking floor. This is more an average 3-star hotel not higher as advertized. The staff though are quite helpful.

Hotel personnel very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Price per quality ratio was good. However, the lobby and rooms of the hotel are old (needing to be refurbished) and this hotel does not give the feeling that you are in a 4 star hotel.
Though, I may again stay at same hotel.

"Very faded elegance" best describes this hotel - no shower curtain (why?), leaky taps, and mattresses so thin that the springs almost protrud into the sleeper. Our room also faced a very loud and busy road. Luckily, the rooms are equipped with air conditioning and if the windows are closed, there is not too much noise. The thing that most upset us about this hotel was that we were stopped several times when entering the lobby by lobby staff demanding to know what were doing there. We had a similar experience at breakfast and were asked to show our room keys to evidence the fact that we were indeed staying at the hotel and not sneaking in at 7 am to steal from the breakfast buffet (the cold cuts and warm yogurt would not be worth it anyway)! All in all, not too friendly and a bit humiliating. Although the hotel proprietors seemed quite nice, it would probably be in their interest to better train staff in dealing with guests. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel to other travellers.

This hotel is right across the road from the Schonbrunn Palace which makes it a great location if you want to see the palace then go to an evening concert at the Orangerie. The subway station is about 200m away and it was an easy ride into the city centre. There is a great little Austrian restaurant on the same block (name something like Schwabl??).

Who are they kidding that this is a 4 star hotel? What a pit. Rooms were either loud or dirty. Bathtub and shower but no shower curtain. Or dark dindgy room with shower but no tub. Smoke-filled breakfast area. Old, dirty carpets, yuch yuch yuch. Out of the way location. would never stay here again. Staff were kind but that was the only bright spot.

Very nice location with a great view of Schonbrunn if you have a room at the front of the hotel. Parking is a bit of an issue but not so as to really affect the quality of the hotel.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. They seemed to go the extra step to help out.

On its own, it is a nice LITTLE establishment with clean LITTLE rooms; ours overlooked the trash in the alley and other balcony's with laundry and "stuff". The elevator holds two people and luggage is a squeeze. The frühstück is filling but unremarkable. The people are wonderful and you are CLOSE to the palace but must cross busy intersections to get to it. Close to the Bahn and very clean but dated. Quaint Christmas Market.

We really enjoyed our stay in Vienna. From the hotel it really is only 1 minute's walk to the entrance to the Schoenbrunn park - which has lots of excellent places to eat and drink. And only 2 minutes' walk to the U-Bahn station, with frequent trains to the city centre. Hotel is clean and simple, and very good value. We would definitely stay again.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this 'Viennese'hotel. Whilst not right in the centre of the city a brief walk to the 'Green Line' and a brief 15 minute trip on the train you are at the main 'central' station, taking you to shops, the opera - everything in the City. It was great!

Kaiserpark Schoenbrunn has a good location near the U-bahn and Schloss Schoenbrunn. It is located near a very busy intersection, however, they have soundproof glass on any rooms facing the street - which is fine during the winter (but may be loud in summer, if you wanted the windows open). The staff were friendly and helpful. The room decor was tired and old (orange drapes and orange tile bathroom floor, with pink wall tiling!), but for 75 Euros, you can't complain for Vienna!

Very nice hotel in a old building. Very clean and silent, although the near and noisy crossroad. Excellent relationship between price/quality. Efficiently served by U-bahn (underground metro). In the hotel there isn't an internet point, and there's no parking, but you can leave your car on the near streets or in the big payment parking in front of Schönbrunn Castle. Altogether, very good hotel.

The hotel is OK. The problem is the location. Except for the Schönbrunn Park and Castle, there is nothing of interest. No choice of Café or Restaurant... At first, I was sick, I want a sandwich. The Hotel doesn't serve it. My husband was obliged to go very far to get one. So,the unplaisant thing is the location.
But, the room on courtyard was quiet, and everything was clean. Breakfast was also good.

The stay at Hotel Kaiserpark offered a very good price/quality relationship; the proximity of the next underground station (Schönbrunn) offered a fast and reliable means of reaching the inner city; the availibility of a cheap and secure parking facility was a great assett as using a car in Vienna is probably not a good idea for tourists. Our only negative impression was the hotel restaurant that claimed to serve food till 23:30 - when we returned from the opera at 10:20, it was impossible to get anything but a croque and some salad. And there is not very much choice of other restaurants in that area.....

The hotel was very nice, in a wonderful position in front of Schoenbrunn Palace.
It was clean, the breakfast was very good and the employees kind and competent.
I advise this hotel to everyone planning to visit Vienna!
