We stayed at Westbahn with two adults and two children. The family room contained a double bed with two couches converted into two rather uncomfortable single beds. People at the reception where friendly. Breakfast was very good and free for the kids.

In my opinion, this is by no means a 4 star hotel. No noise-proof windows, no chair in room. No bathtub, shower too narrow for comfort. Very small elevator. Cleanliness in room/bathroom: Dust on table. 1 of our 2 rooms was acceptable, the other one much smaller. Big asset: really close to station and public transport.

This hotel is in an excellent location. Its proximity to the Westbahnhof railway station makes it accessible to any part of vienna, be it by bus, train or tram. The railway station is also the main access to any train travel west of Vienna. We bought a Vienna card which gave us access to all transport options and discounts galore. We found the hotel to be an excellent choice. It is competitively priced. There are plenty of places nearby to get meals or buy food, including the railway station. The hotel can provide tourist information as can the railway station. If you like walking Vienna central is nearby. Plenty of shops also nearby for the shopaholics. Breakfast is served at the hotel. It is good but expensive. We sussed out a few other places. Take a German phrase book. We travelled all over Vienna on public transport with no trouble at all. The staff are good. The internet access is great. The only negative and it is a big one is not the fault of the hotel. Austria is one of the last EU countries to ban smoking in public places and if you aren't used to it you will notice it. Even the bedding smelt of smoke. We felt sorry for the staff as they had to leave the front doors open, but this only meant the smoke was forced upstairs. All in all if you can't stand cigarettes don't go to Vienna; if you can this hotel is a great choice, as long as you don't need a big room.

The breakfast surcharge was presented to be of 13 euros (instead of 11 as published on the site) even if, after a short "complain" we were granted the rate as it appeared on the page we had printed out. The hotel's structure is old and it does not hide it... the rooms are not big (we stayed in a double room): our accomodation did not possess a pleasant smell (a mixture of cigarettes and sweat... not to talk about the bathroom). The moquette and the walls are not very clean. The shower in the bathroom has been quite an experience: we had to squeeze the shower itself in order for the water to flow at a just tolerable pressure and the drainage was awful ( a pool, 10 cms high, formed after just a fistful of seconds). The breakfast, despite what we could observe from other visitors' comments, was not a 4 stars hotel breakfast (I strongly recommend that you go out, reach Vienna's center and find one of the beautiful Cafès there to find a way better offer, at almost the same price!). Another comment on the breakfast: it's been the first time in my lifetime that (in a 4 stars hotel as well as in 3 stars ones...) I've been told that if I wanted an espresso (or cappuccino or anything else except from the terrible water-coffee they serve or from tea) it would have not been included in the breakfast rate... As an overall comment, I'd say that for the same price you can find a way better accomodation. The surroundings are not worth visiting and the closeness to the station is not helping with all the noises coming from the street. The public transportation system is awsome: reliable and capillar... Do not bother trying to find an accomodation in the very center of Vienna: you can easily and comfortably reach there... even from Grinzing! I would not recommend the stay in this Hotel.

Good hotel and very nice people. It is a pity that the hotel does not have a restaurant (not too many in the sorroundings).

Room was very little. service was not good. elevator was little and old and really unsecure (not suggest with children). there was not bath, just shower. sigarette smell anywhere. anyway I can't believe this is a four star hotel. i will sure not come back in that place. not recomend.

this is by no means a 4 star hotel. However, it is convenient and a decent 3 star. Its at the rail station - while not really convenient to anything but the rail, thats enough to get around.

The people at the desk were very friendly and knowledgable. The breakfast was excellent and the internet service was very useful. The location was especially nice after a long day of walking and sightseeing. All in all, this is a great place to stay.

The web listing led us to believe that breakfast was included. It wasn't, and was an additional 18 euros. They also tried to charge us 8 euros for 2 local phone calls. The rates are apparently posted somewhere, but not anywhere we looked.

The only good thing about the hotel is it's location at the Vienna station andit's breakfast. In no way it seems like a 4-star hotel as claimed on the website. The family rooms (for 4 people) are actually double rooms with sofas converted into bed, which are not at all comfortable. The street noice is unbearable during the night and lack of ventillation forces you to keep the windows open, making the problem worse. I am sure tere would be better hotels than this in the close proximity of the Vienna station. Would not recommend this for families.

It was very convenient as we travel by railway. The hotel was just opposite to the station & it takes less than 3 minutes' walk. However, our room was quite noisy as it near the main road. Besides, it was hot during our stay in Jun.

The staff of the Westbahn could not have been more friendly or helpful. Breakfast while not included in the price was good value for money and very good. My wife and 2 young children thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel Westbahn to anyone. The location was also extremely good with most major sights only a few underground stops away. We will be visiting Vienna again for sure and will most definately be stopping at the Westbahn. If I had any grumble at all it would be that air conditioning would be benefical. Finally, the open court yard was quite delightful. Many thanks to the staffa nd owners :)

I estimate the relationships between price and quality not very well. It is a four stars hotel, but in a close to the railway station area location and has not a very modern attire.

We had a great time in Vienna the hotel is in a good location - especially if you are travelling by train. Day and Night Staff were fantastic, very easy to talk to and spoke excellent English. The only drawback was that there is not any air conditioning. We would recommend this hotel to anyone as long as it isn't too hot at the time.

When we checked out we will double billed and American Express is now trying to fix the problem. We found it on the internet and payed the price when we made the reservation. We were also led to believe that the breakfast buffet would be part of the price but apparently it was not. One of the employees was very good but the others were very average. The temperature outside was very hot and the room was also hot as a result. There was no veltilation. Also with the windows open we could hear everthing in the courtyard and also in the rooms around us. The location was very good for us as it was near the train station and public transportation.

Since we arrived from the west of Vienna, the hotel was in a perfect location, a 2 minute walk from the WestBahnhof. Value for money was excellent at the Westbahn. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend a vast amount of money on accomodation in Vienna, whilst at the same time enjoy a clean and friendly hotel. The staff were very welcoming and were more than happy to answer all our questions and provide useful recommendations on where to go and what to do etc. I would go back to this hotel.

price quoted was inclusive of breakfast. But we were charged 8 euro per head increasing our price by 160 euros which was a poor value in comparison with other 4 star hotel prices. If we knew , we would have had breakfast elsewhere at cheaper price or would have booked other hotels offering better value services. In room tea coffee facilities -overstated by giving an impression that these are complimentary. These were in fact ridiculously priced. There is room for much improvement in the fields of representing the price and in room facilities.
