The Astor was a very nice hotel albeit slightly overpriced. We did not like the fact that guests could keep pets as there was someone on the same corridor with a very noisy dog staying at the same time as us. Also we did not like the fact that you have to pay each day to take a chair on the beach as this is hotel is advertised as having it's own private beach across the road available for guests.
The standard of the rooms was very good and the fact they had safes in the rooms was very convenient.
Some renovation was going on but we knew about that before travelling.

I guess it is never a very good idea to visit Viareggio in high season. Hordes of tourists wearing down on the local infrastructure. - We could have been treated somewhat more friendly, but there isn't really anything un-satisfying that I could point too.

The Astor Hotel which was on the beach road was very noisy and the rooms small. Although a clean and tidy hotel we did not enjoy our stay here and thought that the rooms were very expensive for what they were. Would not stay here again
