Expensive but excellent hotel in the grand style. Lake front location with lovely views of the lake and Pallanza from the front and side. Parking limited but the helpful staff find you a space if one isn't immediatly available. Excellent location for nearby Villa Taranto and the pier at Pallanza. Would love to return and stay longer.

Private beach facility was poor as it was in a narrow channel with boats passing through frequently and also mooring there. Choice and quality of food really wasnt up to the standard one would expect of this class of hotel. Lake Como is much more scenic

The Grand Hotel Majestic was everything we had hope for. Quiet location within 10 mins walk of town and boat dock, pleasant lakeside gardens, wonderful views, spacious and relaxed air about the whole place. Only ate in restaurant once - typically pretentious as you would expect; food good but expensive for what it was; service inattentive. Earlier correspondets had commented about the limited parking (which is all free). We visited in mid June and with the exception of one night, when there was a large conference being held, there was never any shortage and on the night of the conference the staff coped well, opened up additional areas, and no-one was left without a space. If and when we return to this part of the lake (likely) we will certainly have this hotel high up on our shortlist.

had the most wonderful stay here, the location, grounds, views and facilities were wonderful. The town centre is a beautiful picturesque walk away along the shoreline of the lake. Lots of villas to gawk at along the way. Friendly people, summer resort town atmosphere catering to mature adults. Many terrific restaurants with outdoor seating so you can enjoy the fantastic vistas of lake, opposite shores, mountains. The hotel is very quiet, and is perfect for those looking for a relaxing, luxurious hideaway without paying a huge price. The pool and fitness area are great. Full breakfast included had all you could ask for. We want to return, but stay longer next time.

We had a fantastic time at the hotel. Its in a peaceful location yet with a view to all the beautiful surroundings including the islands and a short walk to the local town. The staff were friendly and attentive at all times. Would definately recommend this hotel if you are planning a short peaceful break away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Majestic and thought that Pallanza was a lovely resort. Good local restaurants and ideal for taking the ferry to various locations. Visted Como on a Sunday and found it absolutely mobbed with visitors.

Very nice hotel, extremely service oriented. Ask for a sea facing room, the backside is not very attractive. High Class Restaurant, but a little bit too expensive.

The hotel is a spledid building with direct view on the Lake with a garden and small beach along the lake. The services provided are very good and what we could call : Top Level. However, considering the price invoiced we could expect a bath instead of a simple shower for the room and why not a jacuzzi on top of the pool and sauna. The map delivered on the website is too light and confusing.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
From Milan, take the Highway A8 in direction of Varese-Laghi. Follow the signs to Varese until you reach a crossaroad: here you must follow the signs for Gravellona-Toce. You will automatically merge onto highway A26. Exit at Baveno and follow the signs for Verbania. You will reach a large roundabout where you must turn right. Follow the signs for Verbania-Intra-Villa Taranto and keep going straight until the front lake. Turn right and you will pass in front of the famous botanical gardens of Villa Taranto. Proceed along the lake shore for about 1 km/0.6 miles until you see the hotel on the left side of the road.
