We stayed a few days in February for the carnaval. We had a single and a double room at the 4th floor, which were spacious (the double room had even a bath tub) with amaizing views over the Venice roofs. Walking distance to all the interesting spots. Very friendly staff. Great continental breakfast - plenty and of very good quality. Resonable room bar prices. My suggestions for improvements would be: a bigger breakfast area, better ventilation in the bathrooms (the ceiling ventilator did not seem to work in any of our rooms) and a more detailed map of location. highly recomended.

This lovely hotel in a very convenient spot. It was very close to St Marks and all the popular areas of Venice. Within easy walking district of Rialto bridge. Loads of good restaurants around.Only a short walk from vaparetto stops. Directions given from vaparetto stop to hotel accurate and very easy to follow(even when arriving after dark!) The rooms were spotless and bedlinen and towels changed daily.
Hot and cold buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and was replenished regularly. Staff very friendly and helpful. would definitely stay in this hotel again.

If you are in a hurry, don't leave the breakfast for the last minutes. The breakfast room is quite small for this hotel, so you probably have to wait 10-15 minutes to get in. Anyway our stay was excellent, we would recommend this hotel cordially to You ALL.

We have stayed at this hotel more than once... both times were absolutely wonderful. Each time we've gone to Venice for an overnight trip, this has been our go-to favorite spot... it's in an excellent location, is family friendly, and is just all-around wonderful.

The welcoming was great, the breakfast was adequate. The hotel is very close to San Marco square and has lots of restaurants around it.
The only minus point is that it is close to a nightclub, so you can hear voices outside late at night but as the windows are double glazed, it is not a big issue. We had a triple room and the third bed was an unfolded sofa, there was not much space left in the room, we did not mind so much as we spent most of our time outside and only got in to sleep. Air conditioning a great help.

Excellent little hotel just off of San Marco Square, in the heart of the city. We stayed at the Montecarlo for 5 days we booked a triple and a double. The rooms we fantastic the decor was venetian and very nice Murano glass lighting to add a special touch. We paid 99,00 euros for the double and 124,00 euros for the triple. Great prices for Venice and for San Marco Square location. The rooms were spacious for european standards.
The lift was very small, but then again the building is 500 years old, but beautiful. We had our rooms in the fron of the hotel overlooking the main street the hotel is on very charming.
The hotel only offers room service for breakfast, we did not use it. They offer a wonderfull breakfast each morning with fresh to order cappuccino, espresso etc..they have eggs, meat links, cakes, cereal, dairy products, juice etc.. I just the fruit that was offered was fresh instead of the can variety. This hotel is a fantastic value for the money. Hotel is also close to all the major sights. Hotel is very clean and staff is excellent. I would recomend this hotel to anyone and would stay her again if I were to return to Venice. There is a good cafe close to hotel with no cover charge the cafe is Pizzeria Marciana, Calle Larga S. Marco 367 B. ---. the food is good priced the food is vsery good and the staff is friendly and helpfull. The cafe is just across the way from the MCDONALDS, it has yellow tablecloths seen from the window and a bunch of sunflowers in a vase near the cash register., the staff has white coats with black bow ties.

The location is perfect, the relation between price and quality is really very good, it doesn't look like a 3* hotel (no safety box in the room). People are nice, all went well, nothing very positive to say but nothing negative either...
It is an hotel that you will not remember because it is average, but for the price, the kindness of the people and specialy it's location, you will recommend the hotel to your friends. The only negative thing was that the room was too hot, since it was very cold outside, but I opened the balcony door and then it was ok...

My cousin and I stayed at this hotel at the end of January 07, We were on a short break, Hotel staff were great really helpful and friendly, hotel just short walk from St Marks Square, we took the vaporetto all the way round to see as much of Venice as we could, Hotel is close to all the sights, we ate at Restaurant next door to Hotel it was a bit pricey but worth it,plenty of restaurants all around the area. The Hotel rooms were lovely and clean, centrally heated and very comfortable, we would certainly stay here again

wonderful location and nice people in the hotel. The neighbourhood of San Marco is a great advantage and the rooms are with the romantic furniture a nice expierence for living Italian style. The breakfast is excellent, the coffee more Austrian standard than Italian and the staff is friendly and very supporting. Only the bedlamp is a little bid dim for nice reading, but who visits Venice for reading?

Easy to find, plenty of resturants and stores nearby. Short easy walk to Piazza San Marco, museums, palace, gondola's and public and private water taxi's. The breakfast are buffet style and are very good, also good food selection. Breakfast were the only meals we had at this hotel as we were away until late evening. I would recomend this hotel to everyone and would certainly stay here again. All the employee's were very polite and helpful. The staff was very knowledgable of the area and events. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Absolutely ideal hotel to view the sites of Venice. We arrived at 10.30am and were able to access our rooms immediately. The reception staff were very efficient and pleasant. The bedrooms were suprisingly spacious for a Venitian hotel. Breakfast was above average for Italy. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was great once we found our way to it. We came in the hard way and left the easy way.
It was very comfortable, well-located, and had a quaint breakfast - although a little crowded.

The staff was excellent, particularly Dario, who made our stay a real treat. View out the window from our room consisted of the backs and sides of other nearby buildings. Finding the hotel was a challenge. From St. Mark's Square you need to go through the base of the "Bell Tower" (not the Campanile)before you turn right at the first street, then left at the second street. The entrance to that street is literally only five feet wide.

This was my first time in Venice. what attracted me to BEST-Western Monte Carlo was the price and their location close to San Marcus Square. Although the photo on the add suggests a spacious entreé and wide clear room I have found it in a typically narrow alleyway of Venice. There were absolutely now problems with the online booking and I got a pleasent room equiped with all nessecities as described. The bathroom was absolutely clean and in proper conditon.
The personnel was very friendly and there is no reason to complaint.
In the morning due to limited space for breakfeast guests, people had to wait for a free place. This apperantly is caused by the age of the house and rooms are not bigger. the breakfeast itself also follows these conditions. So the buffett is sufficient but not exciting. You can choose between English and Continental style.
The personnel was very busy and motivated to please the guests. Every issue needing to be discussed from guiests view was responded open minded and with all the expected serosity. They all were polite and humorous as well.
Room price is not that low, although for such a city acceptable.
Its centralized location makes Best Western Monte Carlo to a very convinient basis for exploring Venice.
I enjoyed may stay and would go there again for the next Venecian occaission.

My wife and I stayed two nights as part of a 16 day trip to Italy from Florida. We did all the arrangements for the trip on our own. In the Venice environment, the hotel was good value. The location is excellent. The hotel provided breakfast was excellent. The room was very attractive and probably large for the Venice environment in this price range. The staff was very professional and helpful. The desk staff's english was excellent and the rest of the staff was easy to communicate with. A large percentage of the guests that we talked to were from the states. If we return to Venice, would we stay here again? You bet!

This was a wonderful hotel. It's in the heart of Venice and easy to find. Walk thgrough the clocktower, take the 1st Right and 2nd left. We had a room for 3 that was quite spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was an American buffet which was a welcome change from the croissants we'd been having.

The hotel was in an excellent location. Close walking distance to all the main attractions of Venice. The staff, especially Dario, was extremely friendly and helpful to new travelers of the area!
The room was very clean and a decent size for 3 of us, and the bathroom was big with good shower facilities. Would definately recommend this hotel to future travelers of Venice in the San Marco area.

A small 3 star hotel with services which could have been applied to a four star hotel. However the price of the room reflects a 4 star hotel. The only negative thing was the size of the room that it was very small. Good bathroom facilities.

We traveled with two small children and had an excellent experience at the Montecarlo. The staff were helpful and patient, and took care to meet our needs, including providing a crib in the room. We took our breakfasts in the room instead of in the common breakfast room (for an extra 5E charge per day) and found this worked well for us and our family. The hotel is so close to Piazza San Marco - only a minute's walk away, and fantastic in terms of travel with children. Our toddler loved chasing pigeons in San Marco and jumping in puddles, and we were only a stone's throw away from a clean, dry change of clothes! The hotel is highly recommended for families, and we'll be back.

Hotel in excellent position. Very friendly staff. Breakfasts were typical for Italy, however best to have an early breakfast as after 8.30 am you may have to wait for a table.
Rooms very comfortable and looked like a brand new bathroom.
Take plenty of mosquito repellent! (although I suffer wherever I go). Would definately go back again.
