The hotel is situated in one of the most peaceful areas of the Venice lagoon. The area of Cannaregio (called sestiere by Venetians) is just off the beaten track but still centrally located to easily reach the main landmarks.

It is easy to find bacari - a small and popular wine-bar serving Venetian appetizers - and the typical trattoria restaurants, walking around the hotel neighboorhood.

The Jewish ghetto (the oldest in the world ), with its beautiful schools, Tintoretto's home, the casino, hosted in the Ca' Vendramin Calergi palace, overlooking the Grand Canal, the numerous churches, with their precious masterpieces and the island of Murano are just a few of the major points of interest of Venice and not far from the structure.

Loved it! Coming back for the second time in a month. Only down side is that too many people have discovered this little treasure.

Very nice and quiet hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet. A lot of Venetians life in the area of the hotel. Therefore, it is more original than all other touristic places in Venice. But you can reach everything within minutes. For example, it is just 5 Minutes to some Vaporetto stations, 20 Minutes to the Rialto Bridge. Great romantic hotel for young couples.

This is a lovely hotel with great service. It's a bit far from the popular part of the city (if you want to walk), but the bus stop is pretty close. I would definitely stay here again!

Very nice hotel out of the most noisy part of venezia but within a walking distance. Nice breakfast and very remarkable rooms. We did enjoy our stay there. I strongly recommend it

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff and excellent breakfasts. Watch out however for the "free taxi service to Murano" - its a glass factory and the sales people are VERY persistent! Overall a lovely place to stay.

Nice, quiet location. Large room with a good breakfast provided with plenty of choice. Although expensive for a night, it is comparable with the general price for hotels in Venice. The hotel made our stay very pleasent.

We booked a superior room. It was actually small and very dark. One small windows on one side with a view to a construction site... Otherwise nice furniture and a more than adequate bath room.

We had a great stay. The hotel is a little difficult to reach if you don't know how to get around in Venice, but we finally got to it. You have to take from the airport the boat to Fondamente Nove, and from there the 41 boat going to Piazzale Roma, not to Murano (our mistake), and get off at Orto (the first station), from there if you have a map it's easy to find. If you come from the airport by bus (5) you get off at Piazzale Roma and from there you have to take the 42 boat to Fondamente Nove and get off at Orto. The staff was very friendly and had great recommendations for where to eat. If you want to go to Murano the hotel provides every day at around 10 a free taxi till there, where a guide will pick you up and show you a glass factory and a glass exposition. The breakfast was included in the price.

The hotel stuff was extremely rude when we arrived and did not even let us in the hall before the check in time. Outside it was raining but the conceirge told us clearly stated that till the check in time we could not even stay in the bar or in the hall of the hotel. Unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.

This hotel is perfect if you stay more than two nights in Venice. I can only confirm what the other reviews state. If you stay only two or three days, I would recommend the Hotel della Commedia, which has exactly the same owner, has opened only recently and is more centrally located. Of course then you will miss the wonderful quiet surroundings of Ai Mori, and all the nice osterias and bars ...

Good: Interesting Venetian/Egyptian(?) decorated rooms. Clean. Free water taxi service to Murano to watch the glass blowing factories. Bargain rate for a 4-star(?) hotel. Bad: Quite far to walk from the Vaperetto (water bus) stops, especially if you have to lug around heavy luggages. Room quite small (We got a room in the attic with slanted ceiling). Not sure if that's due to the discounted rate that we got.

We stayed an unusually long 8 days and 7 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. Superb hotel and surroundings in a quiet area with easy access to the busier and touristy parts of Venice.A very romantic and memorable visit to celebrate 26 years of marriage. We recommend that you explore off the beaten track for sights and eating out to sample the "real" Venice

Coppia eterosessuale.

The stay was ok but we didn't appreciate it too much. First of all we didn't like (and think it is unreasonable) the freezing temperature inside, outside there were 27 degrees and inside 19 degrees. In your room you could adjust the air conditioning but: for example on the first evening when we arrived, we turned the air conditioning off because it was already too cold inside, took a shower and went out for three hours for dinner and a walk. When we came back the bath tub was cleaned, there were new towels, our personal belongings were arranged differently (without any clear logic, we rather had to see what was where to find things again) and the air conditioning was reset to 19 degrees. From the bed the covering layer was removed,- I don't like feeling that someone went into the room like that. It felt like a control and intrusion rather than service. Also in the breakfast room it was freezingly cold,- we had to put on a pullover! The staff wanted to represent "top service" but were cold and very arrogant (the breakfast staff was friendly), looking arrogantly at my husband's short trousers (which reached the knees, so they were not too short after all, and if you don't put on short trousers in the summer then I don't know when. Maybe they envied him because they were all in long trousers because of the cold inside?) Somehow the atmosphere was strange, we didn't feel at home. A apart from the nicely decorated rooms and the water steam in the entrance there was nothing arab, and somehow it didn't make me dream like others described the hotel. For what ever reason the breakfast of the first night was included, the second night not but anyway we had to leave early (maybe I have overread this when booking?). The breakfast had a big variety but the coffee and hot chocolate didn't taste good. If I compare the service and the way they treated us to the Hotel Tivoli, I have to say that Ai Mori D'Orienti cannot compete. The nice rooms and the cold atmosphere didn;t mat

A very nice hotel. I have stayed at this hotel before and think it represents one of the best value for money hotels in venice. The hotel has a boutique quality - it is well decorated in a Byzantine style. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are sizeable and have marble bathrooms. Towels/sheets and robes are of top quality. Location? It is quite residential and gives you a respite from the crowds, yet still close to the attractions. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel. If you are willing to pay a little extra I would definitely reccommend this hotel. We got the upgraded room for 240 euro a night and it was well worth every penny. It is located in a fantastic area of Venice which is clean and quiet. You will be overwhelmed with the amount of tourists there and it was so great being able to come back to a quiet area and a nice room. The best part about this hotel is the staff. The bellman insist on carrying your luggage and the counter staff are willing to answer any questions you have. Breakfast was free and fantastic. You can even take it back to your room and the lady carried my tray packed with food up to my room for me. They are super nice and very helpful. This hotel was very nice for American standards and I would definitely stay there again if I ever went back to Venice.

Ai Mori D'Oriente was one of the best boutique hotels I have stayed at in a very long time. Stayed here for 4 nites in May 06. Located in much quieter "ghetto" section of Venice, we were extremely, extremely happy about the lack of crazy crowds over here, yet still within reasonable proximity of all the major sites (if you can find your way through Venice streets, of course). Local restuarants within a few minutes walk of hotel provide some excellent al fresco dining opportunities without tourist menus. Staff and accomodations are top notch, breakfast in the morning standard continental, but good. Rooms cozy, nice bathroom, beds very firm but good. Cable TV has very little english TV..oh well. But honestly, were I to again stay in Venice, I did not see or find anywhere else I thought would be better, at any price. My advice is definitely stay here.

We loved our stay at Ai Mori d'Oriente. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, and the staff very welcoming and helpful. We also really liked staying in Canareggio. It's a quieter neighborhood of Venice, so it's possible to get away from the crouds.

Very goodhotel overall - directions given on venere will get you to the hotel in no time - however do not take heavy luggage with you to venice if you do not intend in taking water taxes. This was the third time me and my wife booked through venere and i can say that thanks to reviews and info offered by venere we were never disappointed - all info on the hotel was accurate Ai Mori D'Oriente is set in a characteristic venetian area and there are quite a number of good not particularly expensive restaurants in the vicinity. My recommendation is to walk in the narrow streets of venice to get a good feel of this wonderful city. Going to places like Piazza San Marco is a must but if one goes only to touristic areas then one will miss a lot of the character of the city- the Canarraggio area where Mori D'Oriente is situated offers exactly this - it offers the visitor the true character of venice.

We (two couples) had a very nice stay there for two nights in february. The photographs of the rooms you see on the web page correspondent 100% with the rooms we've been offered (612 & 613). Our rooms were absolutely clean and warm enough even in the colder days of february and we found them in excellent condition. To mention is the extraordinary nice italian-stile bathroom! Don't expect one of the famous postcard-views of venice from your window. There is no view from your window, except your neighbours window. You're in that ordinary and authentic, lovely and very quiet part of venice, where also italians seem to have choosen to live at (which could be seen as a good sign not only in restaurants). And you'll have found that kind of accomodation, where you like to turn back to after a long days walk in venice. But: Breakfast buffet and coffee even let you dream of your last visit at your dear friends in Lancashire and the coffee in that pub .......... but finding your good cup of coffee in venice is not too difficult. After all: Don't hesitate to recommend the hotel (not the coffee!) to your very best friends, they'll love you even more after that.

This property was exactly as advertised. We had a spacious room on the first floor, as requested when we made the booking and the room itself was very well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The nighborhood is excellent for those not interested in immersing themselves in the flow of humanity on the Rialto or along the Grand Canal. We walked north over 2 bridges at the suggestion of the Front Desk and found ourselves in the midst of a local produce market, lots of lovely restaurants and more shops than one could imagine. Great location and wonderful value. I will stay here again and again.

Very nice, spacious room with seating area and chaise lounge. Nice bar area, enjoyed coffee one afternoon, nicely decorated. Gleaming with mirrors and brass, and rich red walls. Breakfast was plentiful. Short walk to vaporetto stop. Not bad if you aren't carrying lots of bags but manageable with rolling suitcase. quiet neighborhood, not "touristy", dining nearby. one recommendation did require reservations - which the hotel arranged for us. Great risotto. I would stay here again.

This is about as far away from St. Mark as you can stay - it is quite a walk, but not too bad if you like to walk. Being that it is a little far from the center of things, it is quiet, but we walked back late one night and it was DARK. Everything and everyone in the hotel was great, although we were woken up in the middle of the night because we could hear the guy in the room next to us snoring, so the walls aren't too thick. The bartender there is great - she was very nice, and from the Venice area.

this was our first visit to Venice and although we have some friends that live in Italy we relied completely on the information on your website, and I must say everything presented was identical to what we saw and experienced. The hotel was located in close proximity to all the points of interest yet a little off the beaten path which made for a quiet stay. The front desk was very helpful in helping us navigate ourselves around Venice and even booked our train ride up to Milan. Our room was ideal and truly looked identical to the literature presented. Every time we travel to Venice we will definitely stay in the same hotel and request the same room
