Obviously the Hotel itself does not know, how to rate itself. There are different signs with two, three and four stars. The correct rating would be only two stars, but in the venere reservation system it is listed as a four star hotel, which caused big disappointment. On the other hand I have to say: the restaurant is good.

The Hotel is an old Mansion in the Highs of Firenze, surrounded with a garden that must be really great in summertime. Rooms are very impressive, and look really historic (however, if you are searching for the high standards of ultra-modern confort, find something else). The breakfeast is served into the old-style Dancing Room, which is great ! The road is scaring if you are not used to drive in the mountains (drive slowly and it will be OK), and I recommend a map or a phone contact to write down the way. However it is easy to find if you start from the center of Firenze. DO NOT try to find a shortcut, especially if you come from Prato late in the night :-) Go back to the center of Firenze, and start the way again from the beginning. You have to know that there is no decent restaurant in a 10km / 30min wide area.

I was surprised that nobody at the desk (apart from the owner) speaks either French or English. In addition, the bedroom was rather oldfashioned and needs to be refreshed. I was also unhappy about the indications given to reach the hotel. Finally, breakfast is the minimun expected. Overall, this hotel in our view does not deserve 4 stars.

Driving at night and find the hotel was very complicated, took 2 hours from Florence. Even the second night it was difficult becouse of poor road signes. The hotel itself was very good. I wanted 1 kingsize bed and got 2 beds, when I asked to change it , they changed just for the second night.

if you have a car you can drive to Pratolino and leave the car there and take a bus. There are a lot more buses coming to Pratolino. Don't drive into the city. Parking is hell.

Very high in the mountains. Take the more direct road from Florence if you drive there first time. Very nice backyard, offering a lawn of camomile flowers, trees and chairs and vie of the mountains. Good and Antique looking furniture.

The address of the hotel was given as Vaglia but, in fact, the hotel was situated in a Bivigliano. Bivigliano is nowhere near Vaglia and we spent a considerable amount of time trying to locate the hotel. Even after telephoning the hotel, it was only by chance that I was able to find Bivigliano on the map.
