Everything you would expect from a Beautiful French Chateau, except for a restaurant, which really brings the level of service & facilities available down. I would definately stay here again, but the lack of restaurant was not made clear when booking, especially as breakfast is served. The local restaurant, about a km walk was ok, but not geared up for non French speakers.

We arrived by train in Tours, France around 10am. With much difficulty and with the aid of a French traveler a taxi was called 3 times before one arrived about 45 minutes after the call for service. After about a 10 minute ride to Chateau de la Bourdaisiere we were unable to check in but were allowed to walk around the beautiful grounds and utilize the Chateau's den to wait. Upon check in around 2pm we received an extremely spacious and comfortable room with a hugh bathroom. The Chateau was lovely as were the grounds. The staff was accomodating and professional. My problem was that in August on a Sunday it was extremely difficult in getting a taxi to the hotel AND at the Chateau there is no restaurant nor any within reasonable walking distance. Nearby restaurants were closed!! We had no food and no way to get to a neighboring town or restaurant as we had not rented a car. The hotel website does not mention the difficulty of getting food service. All car rental offices were closed and taxi service was scarce on a Sunday. We were told everyone was on Holiday in August. Luckily for us the staff graciously gave us a tray of cheese, ham, bread, and water which kept us from starving until breakfast the next day. Eventually we were able to hire Christophe ABELLO Taxi Service (Tel 0609 71 88 24)for transportation. Christophe was an excellent guide, local to the area and spoke excellent English. He assisted us at a time when we felt stranded. This location is excellent IF you are seeking peace, quiet, and limited interaction with other people. It is a perfect getaway but don't go there without a rental car or having made arrangements with a guide for transportation to the local castles or neighboring towns. Also August is probably not the best time to travel there either...our mistake.

Unfortunately the room where We spent our 2 days are much different respect to the photos pubblished. Our room was in an other part of the Castle (not in the main Structure) and it was very "poor" (forniture and bed)and not in line with the beautiful scenario all around it.

Lovely spotlight for staying in an old castle. Nice park around. Good location for visiting the different castles aroung Tours. Breakfast is very French-like: only coffee, bread and jam is served without extra charge.

Very reasonably priced for a Chateau hotel. The building itself is in need of renovation, but it’s a good value as it is. The room was spacious, clean and had a lovely view. Beautiful and very peaceful surroundings and had a very comfortable and cozy feel. The "living room" was a beautiful place to sit and contemplate how life must have been back in the day. Would return, strongly recommend.

Very beautiful room that belonged to Henry IV's lover, who was the owner of the property. It features 2 large windows that make the room quite bright, it offers a view over the terrasse or the garden.
It also has a large bathroom with shower and bathtub, a fireplace and a window overlooking the park.
