This hotel was close to the market and to many of the roman ruins. It was very convenient and offered a very good and reasonably priced breakfast. It also had a computer in the lobby for free internet use. We were amazed at the city of Tarragona - originally we had stayed there overnight because of convenience, on our way elsewhere, but we ended up going back for another night to have another look at the ruins and the city. It is a beautiful place.

This hotel was fine and a largish room for Europe. Modern clean and very helpful friendly staff. The setting is just a busy street with a building site in front but was quiet inside. Dinner was fine but not very inspired and free internet was great.

Excellent location, close to the centre. A bit noisy when we stayed as the roads surrounding the hotel are being paved - will be excellent when finished. Staff were excellent, good breakfast, Parking around the corner and reasonable - 10 Euros per day. Access to adjacent leisure club and pool was great for our young teenagers. Only issue is how hard the hotel is to find when you don't know where it is! We eventually stumbled upon it more by good luck than anything else. Tarragona itself is a marvellous place. We stayed 3 days in mid Feb and didn't need to go to Barcelona as we had intended, as Tarragona had a lot to offer. Highly Recommended.

We stayed in Tarragona for one night and enjoyed our time there very much. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful when needed, e.g. when we asked them to order a taxi for us. The room fulfilled our expectations, but we didn't use any of the other facilities in the hotel, e.g. the restaurant of public areas.

We were really pleased with the hotel. We arrived late at night afer a dreadful flight and were relieved to find a clean triple room waiting for us. I'm not quiet sure if I read it wrong somewhere but I thought it was a non-smoking room, but it had ashtrays. Luckily there was no trace of smoke at all (and I do notice these things). The breakfast was plentiful, a continental breakfast with lots of choice. We hadn't paid for this with the room but chose to pay 7.50 Euros each rather than go out on our first morning and find a decent place. This was served until 11am. Check out was 12pm and we were able to leave our cases in a room near reception while we explored Tarragonna before our next accomodation in Torredembarra was ready. Everything was clean. The discrepancy between the photos on the website and in real life was that the website doesn't do it justice. It looks a bit dark and dingy online and this was a concern when we booked it but in real life it was much better. It looks out onto a square which is very continiental and this isn't apparent online either. One more important thing, there is one computer in reception that offers FREE internet access so we were able to log on and e-mail the folks back home and let them know we had arrived safely, and my husband could check the football website too - tut! We might be going back to Tarraogona again in May and wouldn't hestitate in booking here again.

I've stayed at the Urbis before. Very friendly and helpful and reasonable prices.
However this time I had a tiny, gloomy room which was incredibly noisy (208). Noise from televisions either side and and very noisy plumbing (presumably adjacent rooms / above). It may be this one room that is particularly bad, of course. It was OK for a 3 night leisure stay - otherwise I would have moved.

The hotel Urbis Centre is very conveniently located for getting to most places in Tarragona.
The room was very clean, comfortable if a little small - however the bath was a bonus - when you've walked a lot a soak in the bath is more relaxing than standing in a shower!
Excellent value for money.

We were very pleased with the Hotel Urbis Centre. We were in a quad room, and while the room was tight with 4 beds, we were happy to find a hotel in Tarragona that accomodated quads. Looking at the hotel layout, they have a variety of room sizes with various numbers of beds. There are singles, doubles, triples, and they can do quads. There are mini-bars/refrigerators in the room. The hotel parking is around the block, but very convenient. The hotel also has free access to a fitness center over the car park. Tarragona is small enough to walk, even with young children. The hotel is close to the Rambla Nova and about 10-15 minutes walk to all major sites. The hotel staff were very helpful and professional. We would stay here again.

The hotel wanted to charge us an extra 2 euros per extra towel when asked if we could exhange our towels that we had taken to the beach. We declined to do this and felt it was not very good customer service to charge anything for a towel exchange.

The hotel was ideally situated for most of the Tarragona sights. The romm was clean and well stocked (both mini bar and bathroom). Our only criticism is that is was not made clear that parking was an extra (about 8 euros for the night).

Maybe it is normal in Spain that hotel staff dont pay any attention to guest. For example me an my husband had to wait over 15 minutes to get our key and the reason was that the lady in reception was having a private chat in a telephone. It takes only one minute to give a key to a customer.

Upon arrival, the desk person thought we would only stay for a day. Then found out we'd stay for 4 nights. The room he gave was very, very small and on the first floor close to the elevator, so there was a lot of noise as well as banging sounds on our first day. He also did not inform us about the price of parking as other hotels do, and so we thought it was included.
The next day I complained to a nice, helpful young woman at the desk asking her for another room. She immediately understood the poor condition of the room and would try to arrange a proper room. She did, and we got much roomier accomodation on the fifth floor, which was much better as it provided a peep of the sea and no noisy surroundings. This room was worth its *** rating.
The breakfast was fair but in a dining room that would not deserve ***, barely *. Check that you really get the double room booked, rather than the substandard accomodation we were given first.

we price announced in your document was VAT included, with breakfast in addition. In fact, it was the opposite: I payed the 7% VAT, instead of brekfasts, which was more economic. Staff OK, speaking french. On TV, there is TV5 for french language people. Spanish newspapers aviable at breakfast.

Not a bad hotel if you are on a budget. Do not expect luxurious surroundings. The rooms are rather small but they keep them clean. Surprisingly, their breakfast is quite good. There is plently of choice every morning and their coffee machine works ! The staff are friendly and their English is good. The location is not bad either. The historical centre is within walking distance and the main post office is next door!
