We visited Hotel Flora as the last stop on our holiday in Italy, and the comfort and facilities made it a relaxing, enjoyable stay. The room we had the first night was next to the pool and there was a lot of noise until very late at night, despite the fact the pool is supposd to close at 6pm. However we then moved to a room on the 4th floor which had fantastic views of the sea and Vesuvius, and which was very quiet. The breakfasts are good and the pool and television facilities were very good.

Although Grand Flora has lots of positives it's location is its drawback. The pool was welcoming after the heat of the day, the view over the bay of Naples to Mt Vesuvius was impressive, the room was spacious and the staff were wonderful however it is about 1km walk from the vibrancy of Tasso Square and the old town.

This was the first time we stayed at Flora Hotel and we really enjoyed it. The staff were very helpful especially at the reception desk. The room was spacious enough with a splendid view of the Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. I recommend it.

Flora is a lovely hotel. We had 2 rooms overlooking the pool with a view of Vesuvio. The pool was large and clean, but closed at 6:00, way too early. The personnel at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. I loved the roosters in the lemon groves. The only drawback was the walk from the train station, a little too far.

Hotel Flore screwed up our reservation and shipped us off out of town to another hotel. Skip the Flora and skip Sorrento!

Decent hotel in a good location in a great part of Italy to explore. The breakfast was fair and good if your a Euorpean. The hotel is little old but the rooms are spacious and their is a nice outdoor pool if you arrive in the summer.

The Flora was exactly as specified by Venere. The hotel receptionists were available to answer questions give times of buses, trains etc. Our room was on the side of the hotel and you could hear the traffic from the busy road at the front of the hotel. The breakfast was basic continental but very enjoyable and the dining staff attentive. The only let down was the airconditioning which was poor but as it was September it didn't bother us particularly. The Flora is excellently situated for both bus and trains and walking into the main square of an evening. I will be visiting the Flora again.

This is expensive for the quality of hotel, despite the area. I would rate this as a good three star hotel and not four star. I would expect the rooms to be bigger and much nicer in terms of decor (shower was particularly poor), as it is looking worn and dated. Service was excellent and the staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant.

Good central location within walking distance to many attractions. We booked our rooms with half-board which was a nice touch. The street-side restaurant/café was quite adequate with friendly and helpful staff. The airlines lost our luggage and we were a bit surprised and greatly relieved when it was delivered to the hotel albeit two days later. Old town Naples is somewhat intimidating for those expecting a cushy tourist experience but very rewarding for those willing to overlook the crime and grime, quite an adventure. The desk staff was very helpful with suggestions and advise on sites. This hotel is a good value.

The review is not for the Hotel Flora but for the Hotel Antiche Mura. On arrival at the Flora we were told that they were over-booked and we were being relocated to the Hotel Antiche Mura. The Antiche Mura is very new having been opended 2 years earlier. Unlike the Flora it is right in the centre of Sorrento, 100 yrd from Tasso Square. THe rooms and grounds were superb and very clean and well kept. We certainly book there if we ever return to Sorrento.

The location is a little too far from the town.

A nice, clean hotel conveniently located near Piazza Tasso, the hub of social life in Sorrento. In addition, it provides free parking, unlike most other hotels. The only negative is that the hotel's restaurant provides a relatively limited menu. As a result, we did not choose to eat there (the reality, of course, is that our preference was to eat at the many other trattorias, restaurants and pizzerias offered by Sorrento). Would definetely go back there.

The Hotel Flora is situated on a busy and noisy main street in Sorrento, Italy. It is very close to the train station, bus, and all major downtown attractions in Sorrento. It is easy to walk to just about everything from the Hotel Flora. We had a room on the 3rd floor on the back side of the hotel which overlooked the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. It was a beautiful view from our balcony. Rather than have all our meals in the hotel, we only had the continental breakfast there each morning which was included in our rate. Pretty much standard fare. We wanted to and did eat lunch and dinner everyday in many of the restaurants all over Sorrento. They are fantastic. The Flora has a very large pool in the back, and drinks and snacks are available. Just along side the pool is a large beautiful lemon grove. I am not sure if the hotel owns this grove or not, but it is alongside the pool in the back of the hotel. Be warned! For whatever reason there are roosters kept in that lemon grove. They start crowing at about 5:00 am. every morning and they continue until about 7:30 every morning. If you get a room on the back side of the hotel over looking the pool, the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius, unfortunatly you also get the roosters. I am surprised the hotel mamagement allows them to be so close to the hotel. Overall, the Flora, its pool and central location make this a hotel worth considering if planning a trip to Sorrento. I would stay there again, but next time, I will definately ask about the roosters in the lemon grove.

The rooms are beautifully tiled, and appropriate. The location for day trips to Capri, Ischia, Amalfi, Pompei is excellent. The staff is very pleasant. The breakfast, however, was unvaried. Coffee and juices were awful. Parking is extremely difficult. Porters are not available before 7AM, so with an early flight, you're on your own. Air conditioning is meagre and controlled at the desk. Day trips have to be paid in cash instead of being charged to the room. All in all, a three star hotel. certainly no more.
