Our 2 week stay was absolutely incredible. The ambiance and views from our Ocean Side room were to die for. Waking up every morning to Mt. Vesuvius and the rich blue sea was spectacular. The entire staff was friendly especially Nino in the dining hall!! I couldn't picture staying at Vesuvius without him... he will ensure all your culinary appetites are satisfied. Good old "Sorrento" charm goes a long way! Grazie Nino per tutto! Rooms were very spacious, clean and the front Desk (Tonino) will be able to assist you with anything you require. The view from the dining hall is enough to keep you sitting and sipping morning cappuccino's four hours! The food was equally superb!!! I could go on forever however you can see my fiance and I loved this place! We have been to Italy many times and the Southern Italian charm never ceases to keep us coming back.

Absolutely perfect two weeks away - ideal for relaxing and doing nothing. The hotel and location are faultless with superb friendly staff. There is a fantastic bus service that runs from the hotel to Sorrento - which opposed to what we've read on other reviews, was always on time and the drivers were great. the hotel restaurant was first class and we especially enjoyed the mid-summer poolside buffet that was laid on whilst we were there. However, we would recommend going into Sorrento for dinner also as there are plenty of excellent restaurants for all budgets - particularly recommend Francos Pizzeria and Tasso's in Tasso Square. The days trips we organised through the hotel were also very good, especially the day trip to Capri which is a must if you have never been. Had an excellent english-speaking guide and the highlight being the chair lift to the top of Ana-capri to see the most spectacular views ever. Would return again and again.

Good morning,
we are a 60 year old couple from Canada with extensive travel experience in North America, Britain and Europe.
We recently returned from a trip to Italy and Ireland and cannot say enough about the enjoyable stay at the Hotel Vesuvio. Everyone and everything was excellent from the moment we checked in, until we were given a complimentary bottle of Lemmoncella at check out.
Out Sea View room was big, clean and the view from the balcony spectular.
The food and service was excellent and your staff were extrememly pleasant, efficient and very helpful.
The Hotel Web site is exactly as described and the shuttle service into Sorrento was excellent. Some people may object to the location of the Hotel (approx. a 5 minute bus ride from the centre of Sorrento), however we found it refreshing to be away from the hustle & bustle of downtown and sitting on the Veranda after dinner listening to the enterainment provided by the hotel to be the perfect end to a lovely day.
Should we ever plan another trip to Sorrento, we look forward to staying at the Hotel Vesuvio..... First Class 5 *****

This was a very nice proerty but a little old. The room was nice and big but again old, TV's were small and one remote was taped together (kinda tackey). Staff was very helpful ans freindly and view from room was great.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Vesuvio very much. The location was far enough from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento and yet close enough to be part of the action when I wanted to be. The shuttle bus was a great service and saved lots of money in cab fares. I highly recommend this hotel.

I would like to see the price on the evening dinner menu as we were staying Bed and Breakfast only. Also we would like to have had some kind of introduction (ie type of booklet) on arrival of services at the hotel plus a map of sorrento.

We paid for a seaview and this was one of the most magnificent imaginable. The hotel was genuine 4 star, excellent room, service and pool area. We went out for dinner because there are so many excellent restaurants in Sorrento but the hotel dining room was not really a rival as it lacked a bit of atmosphere but that is our only (slight) negativity - the overwhelming feeling was when can we come back to this great hotel.

Probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. Our room wasn't the standard room - we paid a little bit more, but it was well worth it. We had a balcony, with a stunning view of the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius et al. The double bed was HUGE! Plenty of space in the room / suite. Our 2 year old son enjoyed the swimming pool. The place wasn't over run with kids. Good selection of food in the restaurant, and prices were excellent for a four star hotel.Hotel is a little bit out of the way, but this is made up for with the complimentary shuttle coach which runs between the hotel and the town centre very regularly. Don't despair -it's only a twenty minute journey!
Overall - full marks. My wife loved the place, my son loved the place, my wallet wasn't emptied - so I loved the place!

This was an absolute cracker of a hotel especially the location and the view of the Bay of Naples.
The food was good though the breakfast could be a bit more varied. The staff were really god and very helpful. The restaurant though large could be a bit more "romantic" if the lighting was a bit more subdued at night so that the view out of the excellent windows could be seen to all it's splendour.
We would definitely come back.

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Vesuvio. There were a number of plus points (room space, staff, minibus, location) and just three identifiable minus points. 1. Room was "very" noisy. I think we were at the end of a drainage run so you could hear every toilet flush from 5.00 a.m. onwards! 2. The pool was "freezing" and 3. Although a good size hotel with well decorated corridors the overral ambience was "cold". Some of the public areas and the lobby need a few more strategically placed plants/flower and perhpas some fabric. In particular, the front of the building looks very bland for a hotel of this size and rating (see Hotel Capodimonte for comparison). That said, notwithstanding these monior points we did enjoy our stay and consider it was good value for what we paid.
