Very unfriendly staff from the minute we checked in. We paid for a sea view room which we got, however these rooms face the entrance and parking lot of the hotel, as well as the noisy road just outside the property. Room A/C did not work and reception staff indicated that it was not hot enough to turn on the building's A/C. Shuttle bus driver never smiled nor said good morn ing or good afternoon, he certainly did not seem to enjoy his job and it showed.

Very good hotel. Staff very helpful. Shuttle service to Sorrento very useful and efficient. Pool could be a little warmer + stay open longer in the evening.

A really good hotel,great staff, attentive but not overbearing. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is used by british and European tour operators, but this detracts nothing from the overall experience. The only minor flaw is that the hotel is placed agood way out of Sorrento, and without a car many people could feel a little trapped, despite the free bus to town. You risk life and limb walking on the road towards Sorrento!, especially in high season

We loved the hotel and the staff. Our disappointment was how far from town it was and the limitation it put on us to get back and forth to the town. If this hotel had been in town it would have been perfect. If you have a car than that problem would be eliminated. Other than that we loved the place and if you have a car or don't want to be in town and sight see than it would probably be perfect. The staff is excellent.

Very nice and comfortable hotel outside Sorrento. Hotel has mini bus to take you into Sorrento at various times, except Sunday. Nice swimming pool with plenty of chairs and sunbeds,large covered area with tables and chairs next to pricy 'bar' for drinks, snacks etc. Only had the breakfast whilst staying, which was good with plenty of variety. Overall, an enjoyable stay for a few nights in a beautiful, but busy area.

As with all Sorrento Hotels they don't come cheap in high season but La Solara makes up for the price by having all good things at hand. The only negative thing about the hotel rooms is the that the walls seem paper thin, its not really a problem unless your trying to watch a film late at night with the air conditioning on(1 Sky Movie channel No.4 available). If you have any tetchy neighbours then its not long before an apologetic phone call from the front desk! The pool is lovely and very handy for any sun worshipers, a bus runs several times a day for the town (3K's too far to walk and especially not on Sorrento roads). If you have a car the number of available space are limited (approx 9 cars) but we had no problems. The hotel puts on a Gala dinner on Sunday nights, we missed it but from afar it looked very atmospheric being seated beside the pool at candlelight. The staff aim to please and the cleaners do a great job by turning down your bed in the evening and leaving a chocolate each side of the bed, nice touch. True to say, the small things sometimes can really make the difference.
