| The hotel is close to the Aiguadolç harbour and the golf course and in a short walking distance from the Sitges center where there are a lot of pubs and bars. By the other hand, the structure is only in a 30 minutes by car from Barcelona city. Therefore, tourists will have the possibility to visit the Catalan capital and all its monuments. |

first time at Calipolis, very goog time. we booked a room with see view. even if the room was not going directly to the seeside (but we still had a see view!), this maybe was an advantage because our balcony was towards a smaller street so it was not not as loud as the ones which go towards the beach.
Very good breakfast, fancy cocktail bar on the other side of the street. spacious room. coming back!

Only really used the hotel as a roof over our heads at night. Considering the room price is relatively expensive, breakfast should be included not charged extra. But that is an incentive to have a lie-in and go for breakfast at MontRoig (5 minutes walk. Full English including toast, jams and coffee for 5.50 Euros). Plenty of restaurants around for evening meals - recommend Hotel Nina on the front - good for non smokers as tables are not packed together.

The good: The breakfast, although not included in my rate, was nice but expensive at 15 euros. The location is ideally situated near the beach and town. There is nice bar at the pool for snacks and drinks.
The bad: My room was not ready well after check in time so I had to wait in the lobby until cleaning was complete. The rooms are old style (think low budget Holiday Inn type) and the walls are thin so you do hear others if they are a bit loud. The maid often forget to restock the soap and other bathroom products which was really annoying.
Probably would try another property next time.

Friends had stayed at Hotel Calipolis recently and told me about the refurbishment of the rooms from the second to sixth floors - so I emailed ahead and requested one of those rooms, with sea views, and was well rewarded.
Hotel Calipolis is brilliantly located. It is opposite one of the main town beaches - a mix of lounges/umbrellas and space for your own gear. Its two minutes walk from a bank machine and post office; three minutes from the main shopping/eating street.
The rooms are large and cool - with tiled floors and muted decor. The air conditioning is efficient. Floor to ceiling glass doors open onto a well-sized balcony with stunning sea views. Each balcony is private - you can't see neighbouring guests. However, you have an uninterrupted view of the sea and coastline. There is a table and chairs, and you can ask for a lounge. The balconies have electric blinds that you can use to shield the full sun. These balconies are what set Calipolis apart from other hotels - they are the best in town.
The room was comfortable and kept clean - and that is saying something given how much sand was traipsed in from the beach every day. The cleaning staff were friendly and courteous.
The bathroom was a mix of old and new - quite spacious, double sinks. The shower pumped out plenty of hot water. I couldn't help but notice a couple of messy bits of finishing re the refurbishment of the bathroom, but everything worked.
The pool area (and pool) were small but screened from the road and a pleasant place to spend time. The pool is next to a small terrace bar/cafe. Staff were courteous and orders arrived relatively quickly.
Calipolis has quite nice food but there are better restaurants nearby, ie Fragata/Picnic (both the cafe terrace and seafood restaurant)/Santa Maria (next door) and Argentinian Grill (at San Sebastian Beach). Start your day with a fruit smoothie and coffee in the main street, pick up bread/bocadillos from Le Fornet.

I only had two days at the Hotel Calipolis, so it is difficult to give a fair review. Overall, I thought the service was a bit uneven. Some staff members were most accomodating, others not so much. They did not intend to be inhospitable but they fell short in some areas. I would stay there agaain to get a better feel, so please don't interpret my comments as all negative

I stayed in one of the rooms on the 7th floor - this floor hasn't been refurbished and is really showing its age. Friends in lower floors were very happy with their rooms. There was a small TV and a very small valuables deposit box (you have to pay for a key). Overall the room was adequate but more of a 3 star standard. Two v. small lifts not enough and not good for the claustrophobic! The advertised wireless internet is not free (€12 per day). I found the service at the desk to be a bit below average. On the plus side, great location and food was very good as well.

The sea views from our room were incredible and the location is perfect. You can rent bikes from the hotel and cycle along the sea. The only complaint is that the rooms need renovation, were very small and there was construction going on during the day right outside of our window. Internet connection in the hotel was expensive, I feel at a four star hotel this should be a free service or at least cheaper.

Sitges was a wonderfully relaxing place for a holiday and the Calipolis was ideally located for the beach and ease of access to the town centre. We knew before we went that the swimming pool was small and therefore were not disappointed. It's fine for cooling off but not for serious exercise. We didn't eat at the hotel since we tended to explore in the mornings and evenings and found may reasonably priced restaurants. The rooms were comfortable, cleaned every day and a good size. However, it would have been nicer to have a sea view although the view of Sitges was quite acceptable. The reception staff were efficient but seemed a little too engrossed in their work to be friendly. The bar staff were always friendly. In summary, good location, comfortable hotel but didn't score very highly on reception friendliness.

We stayed in a twin bedded room but would have preferred a double room. However the view from our balcony compensated for that as i think we had an amazing view from the 9th floor. On our balcony however, we were right next to a generator which was ugly and visable. It would have been nice to have it hidden. The hotel itself was lovely. We didnt have any complaints about it. The comunal area's downstairs were beautiful. The only thing that let the comunal area's down was the dimly lit corridors to the rooms and the carpet in the corridors was marked. I'd have much preferred to see a tiled floor throughout. On the whole the staff were very nice, the hotel was very comfortable and although we only ate in the hotel once, the food was lovely. The Hotel met our expectations.

Calipolis is in the best place in Sitges and I definitely recommend it. This was actually our second visit.
However, please note that the road Avenida Sofia (=just in front of the hotel) is now under heavy reconstruction, so it is good to avoid the hotel before it is done... I guess they will be ready in June/ early July 2006, check before booking. It makes noice! During our visit it was still very quiet and also our baby slept well, but workmen worked & big trucks drove 8-13 and 15-18 during the week and the noice was bigger every day as their work proceeded closer to hotel.
After the road construction is OK the hotel is the best place to stay in Sitges. Excellent situation, clean room with a nice terrace (sea view), very friendly staff and excellent buffet breakfast 14 euros/ person.

There is a lot of work being carried out both within and adjacant to the hotel. It didn't worry us as we were out and about all day, but if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break within the next couple of months you might be better off looking elsewhere. However we really enjoyed our stay there.

Upon arrival we were not too happy about our room, we did not have a balcony, however the Manager was very pleasant and gave us an updgrade at no extra cost, we ended up with a fantastic sea view room with a huge balcony (room 725) also they offered us one of their new suites for the last three days for a discounted price. The only downfall of our stay was the noise levels, you could hear almost everything from neighbouring rooms - and we weren't staying peak time either. But overall I would stay here again for sure we had a great time and Sitges is just a stunning place to visit.

Very modern opaque plastic ambience in public areas was a bit too bland and the pool at 7m x 3m on the hotel steps (!) was fairly unusable. HOWEVER the rooms are quiet, big and clean enough with full sat TV, bar and balcony. full bath facilities; Buffet Breakfast excellent in beautiful room on first floor overlooking the sea across the road!

PS the price of your breakfast --TOOOOOOOOOOO much--- but all in all we where very satisfied.. Thank you

My review is biased due to the building work underway at the hotel which I was not informed about. Without the building work, I would say that the Calipolis is very well located and reasonably priced (approx 60 euro per night).
The breakfast was excellent, although finished too early (started clearing away at 10am).
I actually could not find the hotel to start with. I had walked right past it due to the front being obscured by builders fencing and materials. Reception was "mocked-up" in the basement bar.
The rooms are fine, if a little tired. Very spacious. My first room on the third floor suffered from noise from the builders, even with the balcony doors closed. I asked to be moved away from the noise and within half hour they moved me to a room on the eighth floor.
Once the builders leave, I'm sure it will be a fine hotel.

We have often been staying at Calipolis, and have always ordered on internet. When we arrived this time we was told that we had to pay add. 12 eur pr day for seawieuv/balcony, we where staying 15 nigths off season.
When leaving there was an exelent man in the reseption( he has been there for a long time, not very tall, slim 40 - 50). I told him that I was not pleased and he rearr. everything, he did a perfect job and is the reason we will book again in des.

Amazing hotel! My only (minor) criticism would be the size of our room (ending in 25) which was the smallest on the floor; still not bad, though. By the way, the picture of the hotel's exterior on the website does not do it justice. Remarkable view from rooms facing Mediterranean (second floor and higher). Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Very nice hotel in a great location. Hotel pool is located off site ( the walk takes a couple of minutes) right off the beach. Although the hotel staff were pleasant and helpfull, we found that the people in general in that area were not as friendly as expected (eg. local restaurant waiters)
All in all, Sitges was a nice place and the hotel was fine. We did not have our own vehicle, so I cannot comment on parking situation, but I suspect it would not be very convenient....or cheap. Hotel requires a security deposit on just about everything....for example....if you need beach towels, they have them, but required a twenty Euro deposit on each towel.
