We had a very pleasant stay, the staff were very helpful at all times.Although we had a room at the back of the hotel it was adjacent to the lift shaft which was quite noisy at night. The rooms were serviced with clean sheets and towels every day, very good.

Had trouble finding the hotel although that could have been my fault...
Ask for a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the pool as the ones at the front were a little noisy so couldn't have windows open. Great breakfast...(not just sweet pastries) lazing by the pool was very relaxing.
The wireless internet was down while we were there which was a disappointment but I suppose that's not their fault.
Very helpful staff, one gentleman offering detailed directions on the best way to get to our hotel in Florence. Very nice spacious rooms as well...bus out the front takes you to the town centre or you can walk up the hill about 1km...the walk back was easy.

A very nice hotel, a brisk walk from the city centre ( there is a bus service just outside the hotel!). You can cut through a street to the Duomo, or to the main piazza. Siena is a beautiful city, our favourite by far in Italy. There is plenty of mediaeval tradition centred on the the amazing 'Palio' race run in July and August, but there is plenty to explore in the narrow streets of the city, and the surrounding Tuscan countryside. This was our fourth time in Siena.
The Colonna was possibly the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in! A wide range of buffet, food at breakfast time was a perfect way to start the day. Our room was quiet (albeit on the side of the hotel away from the road). A great pool area is a perfect place to have an afternoon siesta and cool-down (recommended in Summer time - not humid, but very sunny and hot!). The hotel price was great value, we will definitely try to stay there again.

At very first view we were somewhat shocked, because the hotel ist situated directly at a very busy overland- road, so be sure, you make a reservation for one of the backside rooms, which are very quiet and cool. The hotel is very nicely decorated, very clean, everything seems to be quiet new, our room was quite spacy, the bathroom in perfect condition and the staff is very helpful. The breakfast was also pretty good. Very pleasant stay !

The location that was indicated on the map online was a little misleading, but it was very easy to figure it out and catch the bus there. It was away from the city center, which made it very quiet and just perfect for us, but not perfect if you would rather be right in the middle of everything. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, so it's very easy to get to the center from there. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff went out of their way to help us with our lost luggage. The rooms were not huge, but definately more spacious than many other Italian hotels I have stayed in. It was better than I was expecting, but don't expect a lot of extra room.

Very good option if you tour the area by car due the the proximity to major road. The local bus takes you up the hill to the old city in 5 minutes every 15 minutes. Only negative thing was the pool was freezing cold eventhough day temperatures were 25-30 degrees celcius

We were 3 single ladies requiring 3 separate beds and this room was very adequate for us. The hotel had a lovely pool which suited us after a very hot day's travelling. We found the hotel rather a long way out of the centre but buses did service the area. Because it was Pailio, it was very crowded in the town.

We stayed at La Colonna one night and were very happy with the accomodations. Everything was very clean and the girl behind the desk was friendly and helpful. We were close to the bus line and if we had wanted a good walk we could have walked into the main part of Siena. The breakfast was very nice. Be prepared to be on a busy street. We were there in November(off season) and there was still a good deal of traffic.

very nice hotel--friendly, helpful staff;bathroom was extremely small, but functional; bus stop (very closeby) takes you to town center, but it stops running at 8:45 pm; Taxi back to hotel runs 8-10 euros; bus station near town center has direct buses to Florence and San Gimignano; breakfast is small;there is no shuttle service to railway or airport--we took the taxi (about 10 euros to train station)

Located a long way from the actual city. You need to have a hire car, or use the bus for every trip. Immediate surroundings not good, a couple of restaurants that seemed to be closed and a shop. No bar in hotel.
Would be perfect, if it was more centrally located.

This is a very nice hotel, with spacious, clean rooms and a good breakfast. However, if you are not planning to have a car while visiting Siena, do not even consider this place. It is a LOT of traffic on the road in front of the hotel. While technically it is less than a kilometer from walled city, the road leading to the city has no sidewalks, is very narrow and has a lot of traffic. There is no way to walk to the city, so you have to either take a cab or a bus. The busses stop running at around 9 pm, so if you want to have dinner at a restaurant in the walled city of Siena, you must take a taxi back to the hotel. Taxis are not always easy to find in Siena. This is a very good option for people who have a car while they are visiting Siena, but if you don't have a car, forget it.

Hotel molto confortevole, stanze spaziose e pulite.
