| The guests of the hotel can relax at the best beaches, these are situated within walking distance from the Hotel. For those who like water sports, there is a possibility to rent a boat at the Il Gabbiano boat rental and taxi boat agency. For private yacht excursions along the wild coast of Portofino's natural reservation, Cinque Terre (Five Lands), and Golfo del Tigullio. |

Very nice boutique hotel. Single room very small with with lovely balcony. Shower very very tiny, and I am not a big person. Probably a good value for S. Margherita Ligure because hotels/restaurants in the area are expensive. The location was convenient to the train station and to Portofino. I would stay at Minerva again.

This is a very modern hotel with excellent facilities and a good position. Our room and the rooftop area had beautifull views of the bay. The price was fairly high and the breakfast fairly ordinary unless you paid a supplement for extras, generally these were cooked items. I felt this was a bit of a cheek as breakfast was included in the fairly expensive rate of 148 euros a night.

This hotel was just enough off the main roads to provide a wonderful quiet and relaxing base for visitng the areas. We walked to everything or took a local bus to nearby towns. All rooms with balconys with views of the neighborhood and the water.
WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN!
Other hotel options we considered turned out to be on busy roads and very noisy.

For anyone looking to stay in the Portofino/Cinque Terra region this is a great place to stay. A little pricey, but you get a lot for what you pay including clean rooms, a helpful staff, great breakfast, and incredible vistas. Also, the hotel is a short hike away from Portofino and short train ride (30-40 minutes) away from Cinque Terra.

Very reasonably priced room for what you got. Room was good size and service was very attentive. Lucky enough to be on top floor with view of ocean. Breakfast buffet was better than average. Would not hesitate to come back here. It was a very good experience.

We came to Minerva from Nice where we stayed at another three star hotel but found Minerva to be superlative both in the service element as well as general beauty of the hotel and the innovative and modern way the family has renovated the property. The family takes such pride in their establishment and are completely detail-oriented and were very skilled in making us feel like we were super V.I.P. guests. The breakfast was great and was served in a lovely garden setting. We would return gladly, and would certainly use Hotel Minerva as a home base for daytripping around the Cinqueterre and Portofino areas. The rooftop terrace was great for enjoying a glass of wine while watching the light fade away from the bay of Tigullio and the surrounding coastal hills. Really a stellar experience.

Given it was high season (earl Aug), prices weren't going to be cheap, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Minerva. We didn't spend lots of time at the hotel, so it met our needs in terms of location, quality etc. The best part of all was the service from the team at Minerva.....very helpful and friendly.

The Minerva Hotel was lovely with pleasant garden for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. I asked about train times to Genoa and received a print-out of the timetable within seconds.

We had a lovely few days at the Hotel - the staff were very courteous, helpful and thoughtful. The room was spacious and very comfortable.
The common areas were very funky and modern which really appealed to us.
The only gripe was that there was little variety in the continental breakfast compared to other 3 star hotels we had stayed at, so the brekky became a bit boring after the third day.
Other than that, could not fault the convenient, quiet location and comfortable accomodation.

Rooms were attractive, functional, and updated. The staff was helpful. The location on a quiet street with a lovely private garden which our balcony overlooked and the dining room adjoined was delightful. It was only a couple of blocks from the harbor with it's excellent views, but noisy street.

Despite warnings about the curtness of italien proprieters I found the owner/manager of the hotel very welcoming and extremely helpful. His assistance as a tourist information centre was invaluable. The hotel itself had very good, clean, spacious accomodation and furnished in a fashion expected of a relatively small independent. The car parking, although not indicated on the web site as an extra cost, was essential in a part of Italy where streets are narrow and parking generally impossible.

The Hotel Minerva was excellent from initial reception, when our car was garaged for us, to the end, when I was given a leaving gift of a local panetonne. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and we had the option to eat out in the very pretty private garden where shade was afforded by the orange and lemon trees which were full of fruit. We did not dine in the hotel, but the menus looked very good. Advice was given on local amenities and prompt help when I had left my credit card at a local restaurant. We went to the hotel following my son`s wedding in Vernasca, Emilia Romagna. It was just right
I would heartily recommend this deightful hotel and hope to return to it myself sometime.
