Hotel Taburiente was a generous finishing of our 2 weeks holiday on Tenerife this year.
A very modern hotel in ancient surroundings with all facilities. Relative small rooms but cosy and clean with a light and well equipped bathroom. Especially we liked the svimming pool on top of the roof with a fantastic view outwards the town.
Easy to find, just opposite the famous botanic
garden in Santa Cruz.
Coming by car, don`t try to find a parking place around the hotel. The whole town is crammed full of cars. Park your car in the hotel garage and experience the town on foot. The hotel seems to be well suited for conferences and the restaurant was fully booked in the evening, but only a few steps up the street, on the corner, we found a small new restaurante with excellent food.
We look forward for further visit.

Very good value for money hotel. Good sized, clean room, although perhaps looking a bit 'tired'. Conveniently positioned, only 10 minutes from main shopping area. Breakfast was pretty poor - either a typical continental breakfast or a cooked one that had been left out too long and was not nearly fresh enough. However, the hotel restaurant 'Gom' is truly fantastic - excellent food, beautifully presented at extremely good prices. Most definitely worth a visit.

As I had a departure from the airport Sunday morning at 09:20, I couldn´t get any breakfast. I think it is too late to start breakfast at 08:00 Saturday and Sunday. There should be some way to order a more simple breakfast the night before so it could be sent to the room next morning.
The hotel is well situated and a shopping center is within 5 minutes´walk towards downtown. It is also easy to reach the new tram/light rail line that goes to La Laguna - an experience to go up 600 m above sea level in a modern tram.

We stayed for 5 nights in the Hotel Taburiente, with small roof pool and the fabulous Parque Garcia Sanabria across the road. We chose a double in Wing 4 - at extra cost - maybe this is why the room was so quiet. We could not fault the facilites for the price and the staff were always helpful despite our limited Spanish. For a city, Santa Cruz has a safe feel to it - easy going yet stylish. It suffers from the same problems as most cities however - traffic, difficulty parking, bungled 60's and 70's architecture - yet there are many gems. Parque Garcia Sanabria, with it's jasmin smell and tropical feel, the chic area between Iglesia del la Conception and the Puente Gen Serrador for bars and food - for traditional and cheap try La Hierbita [C/ El Clavel, 19 ] and the pedestrianised Calle de Castillo up from Pza de Espana for tourist shopping. Well worth the visit and the roof pool was a useful getaway after a hard days sight seeing. Book parking at hotel for less hastle. Further afield - less than an hours drive North West - try La Quinta Roja hotel in Garachico - a real gem of traditional Tenerife.

We stayed at this hotel previously. It was undergoing major renovations at time , but it has been upgraded spendidly. The bathrooms are superb, the decor is pleasing. The park opposite, and the location generally are truly perfect.

Good for any occasion. We stayed for three nights on a holiday in Tenerife. Others were using the hotel for business and weddings. The public areas are very stylish.
The hotel has a good location directly opposite a fine park and close to good restaurants and shopping.
The room was well appointed but, the 'cost' of the venere bargain price is a small room with no view.
Breakfast was buffet style with good Spanish ham and cheeses, lots of fresh and dried fruit, even an approximation of a cooked English breakfast.
We stayed in October 2006 when much of Santa Cruz was affected by construction of a new tram system. The hotel is unaffected by that. However, if you are planing a trip we suggest you wait until they have finished!

The information given on the web as was not accurate as we did not have some of the facilities quoted i.e. a fridge or even a window! There was building works going on at the hotel and I think the rooms above this should have not have been used as the noise level was unacceptable. When this was brought to the attention of the reception we were told the only way we could chage rooms was to pay an extra charge. We therefore chose to leave after one night.

I can't praise this hotel highly enough. Even before we arrived the Director had contacted us to welcome us, and then when we mentioned before arrival some of our intended holiday activities he helped us out further, even going so far as to get tickets for events that could not be booked from abroad. It is next to a beautiful park and away from the hurly burly of downtown Santa Cruz, but close enough to walk to. Although we only stayed for one night we were treated royally, and my wife stayed again after a passport loss required her to be back in Santa Cruz, where the hotel staff were very helpful about having documents faxed through to enable the problem to be solved. We look forward to our next visit.

The location across the street from a park and
within walking distance of the shopping area was perfect. The park has some very reasonable prices for outdoor dinners. In the hotel, in November, swimming and sunning on the rooftop pool was absolutely
heavenly. The room was bit noisey. I could hear locals singing until 3:00-4:00 in the morning! Overall though, it was a good place to stay.

Communication is often difficult. Some hotels ignore messages sent to them or don't provide the rooms the way they were ordered. Taburiente IS AN EXCEPTION! I ordered two rooms which really were side by side and even parking lots were provided (downtown area). There was friendly staff and I can recommend this accomodation to everyone. Although there weren't much children among the guests we hadn't any problems with our two and always felt welcome. Good breakfast too!
