Before booking, I read negative comments about the bus staion outside the hotel so, I requested a room on one of the higher floors. With the windows closed, I could not hear any noise from our 7th floor room facing the bus station. With the windows open, I could just hear a general blurred noise from all of the surroundings - no problem! The walk to the city centre and the beach is a leisurely 10 - 15 minute walk. You can take a bus - there are several different numbered buses to choose from - they cost €1.20 (May 2008 prices) and take 5 minutes. AFter the buses stop running, approx midnight, taxis are about €6 from the old town.

Adequate hotel, a 20-25 minute walk from the beach, old town & all the life. A slightly noisy island site, surrounded by traffic, & probably more suited to the business traveller than the holiday maker.

My sister & I stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was great as was the bathroom, spotlessly clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. No breakfast was included in the rate but a very good choice offered once you paid extra which was quite expensive for breakfast. The public areas - lobby, bar & cafe - were nice but not great. A plus for us was that the hotel is right next to a bus station (very small) & was convenient for early morning travel. The biggest negative was that we were a bit far from the centre of the city & it wasn't really feasible to go back & drop off shopping during the day so once you left in the morning you were gone for the day.

Very nice hotel, newly rennovated rooms, welcomming personal, great (really GREAT to what can be found in most the Spanish 4* hotels) buffet breakfast, easy access from any motorway to the city. Despite the fact that the noisy bus station is just next to the walls of hotel you can hardly catch it from your room - only through the open windows. Only 3 minor facts (if the rest is good): - the location is 15 minutes walk from the historical centre of San Sebastian and if you like to walk through rather pretty streets it's okay, if not - the taxi to the centre costs only 3,5-4 euros and can cover this problem; - hotel doesn't have its own parking (that is typical for the most hotels in popular cities in Spain) and it'll cost you 11 euros per day (even if you'll take the car to go to another destination); - I can't recall was the breakfast (let me repeat - the good one) included in the price of the room, but we were regular charged with 11 euros per person and our kid (7 years old), too. But normal price for the kid's breakfast is 4.81 euros, so put your eye on how the childred will be charged.

A good hotel overall, although it's location means a 15 minute walk to the town. We were less than impressed with the restaurant the quality of the food did not meet the claims made by the hotel. Also the restaurant was poorly located next to and above the hotel bar which seems popular with the locals. All the staff were efficent and friendly.
