This was my husband's and my first stay at La Locanda di Montisi and we enjoyed our time there thoroughly. The Tuscan countryside around Montisi and vistas were breath taking. We were staying there on Mother's Day and our grown children requested Roberto, the owner, arrange for flowers in our room when we arrived. He very enthusiastically fulfilled their request. He also gave us good suggestions of sites to see, restaurants and directions.

This was a very nice, but, extremely quiet place to stay. It was off season so my friend and I were the only people in the hotel. Roberto was pleasant and accomodating. He puts out a very nice breakfast. We had a great couple of nights at he Restaurant DA ROBERTO, which is owned by the former owner of La Locanda. He's a very interesting person with a great knowledge of wine pairing. The town is cute, but, I probably would rather be there in a time where there might be more people to communicate with.

We had the most wonderful experience staying at this quaint hotel. Delicious breakfasts and the location is great for exploring the country side. We are looking forward to returning in the near future!!

Roberto is a fabulous host and gives amazing driving directions! I chose this hotel due to a glowing recommendation on trip advisor which was actually for the previous owner, another Roberto - the legacy is safe :)

Roberto who runs La Locanda is incredibly helpful and nice. This was our first time to the Tuscany area and we thought this location was ideal - in the middle of everything and easily accessed from A1. Free parking, great breakfast, very clean rooms, and Montisi has a medieval feel. We also signed up for a balloon ride which was walking distance from La Locanda. Great stay and Roberto makes it even better. The price of our four nights here was the cost of our hotel room for one night in Rome - I thought it was a great deal!

As soon as we arrived and saw the place and its surroudings, the first thing I wanted to do is to cancel our next reservations and stay here longer. The hotel and the town is like something straight out of a fairytale. What a great experience! The hotel is a little jewel, plain and simple! Elegantly designed and impeccably mainained down to the smallest details. Air conditioning would be nice, but when you're staying in a house from 11th century?... who cares! Our delightful host and owner, Roberto, immediattely offered us a fan which did the trick just fine. The breakfast included in the price of the room was one of the best we had during the entire trip, beautidfully serverd in a no less beautiful breakfast room. By the way, while in Montisi, DO NOT neglect to dine at Da Roberto Restaurant (yes, another Roberto! :). Spectacular food, great wines, fantastic ambiance and Roberto himself is probably the most passionate and interesting Restaurateur and a person we've encountered. If you want a dinning EXPERIENCE, be sure not to miss it!... Our stay here was definitely the high point of our trip to Italy, and a memory that we'll cherish forever. We're coming back!...

What a great stay we had a this place. Roberto is a fantastic person and he was so very helpful. We don't really know how he can run the inn and taverna. The food was really good and Tuscany is truely a gem. We spent four days driving around and this is really country driving. Roberto was always willing to give us some touristic hints. Hopefully we can have him comer over here to our place in Canada - the offer still stands Roberto.

Pretentious, though not fit to its own ambitions. Good in case you look for vacancies and cheap fares in overbooked periods.
Pretenzioso, sebbene non all'altezza delle proprie aspirazioni. Prezzi abbordabili e disponibilità di abitazioni anche in alta stagione.

The Locanda is an awesome place, from all points of view, but it is made much more so by the efforts of Roberto, the owner, who goes well beyond the norm to make sure his guests have a great experience. Contributing to this is his restaurant, Da Roberto, and his extensive knowledge of good wines and foods. We exchanged email before our arrival in Montisi, and he took the time to advise us on Montepulciano, Pienza, and the general area. We are planning a return to the Locanda, this time for at least a week.

A wonderful experience. Wish we had time to stay longer. Roberto was a marvelous host, and his cooking was even better. So, stay at his pensione and eat at his restaurant and you won't be disappointed.

Our stay at Locanda de Montisi was wonderful. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for and Roberto, the owner, took excellent care of us during our stay. He gave us great advice on places to go and things to see in the area. He also owns a small restaurant nearby and the food and wine there were delicious. Roberto, we are looking forward to a return visit!

My mother and I went to Italy for 10 days and without question, our most comfortable and memorable accomodations were at La Laconda di Montisi. Roberto, who is the owner of both the inn and his taverna (which is excellent!) is a gracious and friendly host. He took the time to go talk to us about our stay in Italy, what we'd like to get out of our stay in Tuscany, and advised us with great care and detail. He led us to places we would have never known, like to the chanting gregorian monks at St. Atimo, just south of Maltacino. We also had our best meals of our trip in Roberto's taverna, only 50 yards from the inn. He even opened for us on a night he was normally closed. We tasted great wines and ate fabulous fresh food prepared by the ladies in the kitchen. It was truly fantastic!
Montisi is quiet and lovely- a great comfort after being crowded in the cities and more touristy towns in the region. You can walk the entire town in 15 minutes- but there are places to linger, overlooking the spectacular countryside, and contemplate if it would be in any way feasible for you to just up and move to this place.
We were very impressed and we hope to go back next year and years to come.

Andateci!

This extremely beautiful and comfortable B&B is tucked away within an old stone-walled building in a quiet, gorgeous tiny hill town. The owner/manager is extraordinarily gracious, helpful, friendly and ensured a pleasant stay -- as well as a table at the excellent restaurant nearby.

Great place to stay. Could not be more helpful and friendly - English is spoken (more good than us!). Watch your head if you have the top room - but views are great. Fridge in room very handy. Roberto - thank you. Hope your(nearby) restaurant is open next time.

Roberto (the owner) is an amazingly gracious and friendly guy. La Locanda di Montisi has beautiful rooms in a medeival building. The town itself is tiny and breathtaking. Roberto knows many people in town and he helped us to feel right at home. He speaks english very well and knows a lot about Tuscany. Meeting Roberto and staying in Montisi made us feel very lucky to have found such a gem. I can't wait to go back and stay longer.

Very, very nice place and we can really very recomend this hotel. One of our best stays in Italy. Very romantic.
