We chose the Belsoggiorno on the basis of its location and the photos of the spectacular views from the rooms. We were not disappointed. Our room shared a huge terrace with a stunning 180 degree view. At breakfast in the restaurant we enjoyed the same view. We did not have too far to carry our luggage and the location within San Gimignano was excellent. We would certainly stay here again.

Travelling for 6 weeks around Europe living out of suitcases - Hotel Belsoggiorno was a real highlight. To wake up every morning & look down at that spectacular Tuscan country side took your breath away. The view from the restaurant was equally spectacular. This was a real find - can't wait to go back.

We were of our honeymoon and had an excellent stay in fabulous suroundings. The hotel was nice and perfect. Car-parking was cheap (5 euro/24h) 5 min. away near the roundabout. Trattorie Rigoletto right outside the main gate was a small and nice restaurant that served tasty food. Only 24 seats, so have patient if it's full.
If you want to visit Belsoggiorno, ask for a room with a view. Fantastic.

Outstanding small hotel with a great location in the town. The rooms are spacious, comfortable with my room having an outstanding view of the Tuscan hills.
The breakfast was outstanding with the restaurant overlooking the valley
A definate gem and a hotel that I would recommend to anyone wanting a deluxe hotel at a very reasonable price in San Gimignano.

A very well located hotel, inside the walls less than 100 metres from the southern Porta San Giovanni. The hotel stands by the pedestrian street of San Giovanni, but our room faced the other side of the hotel, the Tuscan landscape. Traffic noise from normal cars (down from the valley) was non-existent.
When accessed by car there is a parking space (P2) just outside the Porta San Giovanni, but it´s often full. Another much bigger parking (P1) is a little further down the hill, generally has a lot of vacancies. Seven minutes brisk walk uphill, or take a bus with the baggage every 20 minutes (note: only until late afternoon), or drop off the baggage at the port (if you are not alone), or simply drag it uphill, it´s a ggod exercise...
The hotel itself and it´s location: Fabulous.

We had one night here -2 may have been better. Once all the tourists leave San Gimignano it is very quiet and quite nice to experience without the crowds. This hotel is close to one of the gates and was easy to find. It was fairly basic but clean and spacious with a large shared balcony which was lovely. The restaurant for breakfast was quiet (so maybe better to not bring your children) and the food was good.

Our room was very comfortable and the view from our large balcony was magnificent. Just being inside the medieval city of San Gimignano was a remarkable experience. We heartily recomment Hotel Belsoggiorno to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful, historic and interesting place to stay. We did day trips to Siena, Florence and Assisi and were always glad to return to San Gimignano at the end of the day.
Thanks for a great experience.

The room 21 or the back of the hotel facing the valley is worth it. The hotel could be upgraded a little. The overall experience was great. Don't get a street side room, you will miss the best part of the hotel.

We booked this for a one night 'second honeymoon' and it was worth it. Paying extra for a suite with a view over the |Tuscan countryside was an excellent choice and we duly set the alarm to watch the sun rise. Breathtaking. A truly lovely hotel and we will return for more than one night in the future.

very-very good surroundings. location is optimal - only 40 meters from the road open for cars traffic but still inside the historical center closed for cars - no noise. You don't have to walk too much with your luggage, as it is so for other hotels.
Rooms are clean and spacious, the restaurant for breakfast has very nice view on the Tuscany hills - good start for a day! I will return there, someday...oxana

The hotel was outstanding, easy to find, and in a prime position. We had room 11 and it had a balcony and views that where breath taking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the only critisism was that there was no fire regs. in the room

The ladies who ran the desk were friendly and accomodating. The room I received was a little small. When I reserved the room in March, I asked for a room with a countryside view, but none were available, which was disappointing. However, this is an excellent hotel, with easy access from the parking and bus stops. I recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in San Gimignano. Instead of making it just a day trip, stay overnight and enjoy the town without the bus crowds.

Delightful stay - kindness and attention of staff outstanding. 4th visit to San Gimignano (our 50th Wedding Anniversary trip)and we enjoyed everything about it. The hotel and the general relaxed atmosphere was exactly as we had hoped. Perhaps the only improvement (for people arriving by train) would be to provide 'phone number of taxi prepared to come to station in a reasonable time. Bus is OK, but not good for first time visitors.
The views from the dining room are wonderful. We were also delighted that our room had a balcony and the same lovely views.

If you want a hotel in San Gimignano, I would recommend you stay here, if only for the view from the breakfast room, it is truly stunning and a marvelous way to start the day, the food provided is varied and plentiful also. Some of the hotels rooms have a similar view too.
Our room, although facing the street and not the Tuscan countryside, was clean, modern and comfortable. It was reasonably roomy and good value at 120 Euros per night in an expensive town.
The hotel is the first that one comes across as one enters the town through the Porta San Giovanni. As San Gimignano is a small place, it is easy to walk to all attractions; the presence of a few hills should mean that you earn your gelati or dinner from any of the excellent restaurants and trattoria around.
Finally, the aforementioned breakfast room doubles up as a restaurant in the evenings. It serves some excellent food and is well worth booking a table. Try to time it so that you see the sun go down – it should make for a memorable dinner.

Belsoggiorno is great IF you want to stay inside the walls of the city. Noise is high because you're right over the main street. Quality is as advertised. As you come into San Gimignano, park in Parking Lot #2. You see P#1 and P#2 in blue sign. P#2 is written in small black and white sign. Come into circle in front of city. When you get to turn where you have to go right or left -- Go straight. That's #2. Walk in on main street, hotel on right about 75 yards in.

We stayed in a suite on the top floor of this hotel. The room had a balcony the length of the whole top floor overlooking rolling Tuscan hills for miles. The only sound we could hear on waking was loud birdsong and crickets clicking. A wonderful stay. Food in hotel restaurant at dinner excellent (breakfast a little uninspiring with not much choice). San Gimignano is a staple on the tourist trail. It is only when you stay there at night that you can really appreciate (and move around freely) in the place. Highly recommended!

San Gimignano is unique and beautiful. This hotel is one of the few inside the walls. The hotel is very nice, and has a great restaurant. Breakfast is good. Room a little small and antiquated - but - the views make up for it. The hotel is basically on a cliff in the elevated city. Our room had a breathtaking view of sunrise over Tuscany. Spectacular views of the countryside for miles. Dining room had similar views. We arrived in San Gimignano in time for sunset, had a great dinner at La Stella, and spent one night at the hotel. In the morning we woke and enjoyed the hotel's breakfast and then self-toured San Gimignano for a few hours before moving on. It was perfect.

This is the second time that we stayed at the Belsoggiorno. We use it as a home base for exploring the area. The location is great. It's the first hotel that you come to after entering the main city gate. The staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks excellent english. We haven't tried the restauraunt for dinner but the breakfast is very nice. Yes, San Gimignano is a tourist trap so don't plan on shopping for deals here but the town is fantastic AFTER all the tour busses have left around 5PM. However, the best reason to stay here are the views. Get a room overlooking the valley. Get up early, open the windows and just sit and watch the sun rise. It's incredible. The sunsets aren't half bad either.

Wew were absolutely delighted with our first 4 nights as we had a huge room (nr 2), with a wonderful terrace. However the last 3 nights we were moved to an attic room (nr 27, with a good window view but we missed the terrace, and the room was smaller. We were not expecting to be moved and were disappointed, and it was the same price! Otherwise the hotel is wonderful, location is perfect, dinner in the restaurant is great, although breakfast could be a little more varied! Staff are all lovely. I recommend it, but be careful about the room you book.

This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are terrific, the staff is freindly and helpful, San Gimignano is a gem, and the view from the breakfast room will take your breath away. When booking a room, I highly recommend getting a "Superior" room. These are the rooms with views. The increase in cost is worth every penny. Although San Gimignano can be very crowded during the day, the evenings and early mornings are quiet and wonderful. Staying in the town is worth the effort.

This hotel is located within the walled village - you need to park your car and bring your luggage up the streets. We didn't mind that but had spent the previous half hour driving around looking for the hotel! Our room out the back had a fantastic view over the Tuscan countryside and the breakfast room has the same amazing view.

Perfect location. We arrived by bus from the train station and walked into the city hoping our hotel wasn't too far away and there it was! It is right on the main street so expect car noise in the morning, when vendors are unloading their goods (as once the tourist crowds arrive, not many cars can get through) so bring ear plugs. The room was the cleanest we encountered while in Italy - I especially liked that the top cover of the bed was fresh white linen.

A wonderful night's stay- wish it could have been longer. the room we had overlooked the most breathtaking view of the valley below. IT was modern, clean and comfortable. Our room actually had a couch and 2 terraces. It was a superior double.

Belsoggiorno was delightful- just inside the walls of the city so easy to get to with bags (as you have to leave the car in the parking areas outside of the city itself). We received a very special room with a large terrace and amazing view of the tuscan hillsides- definately an added bonus and worth requesting! The restaurant downstairs is also beautiful- the breakfast is lovely and we ended up having a very very special dinner one night there as well- highly recommend it. We later found out there is some hotel parking for guests so make sure you ask about it as it is very limited. We used the public one instead (for 5 euros per 24hrs). If you can't get into the hotel parking be sure to use the carpark they reccommend (there are three different ones) as they all have different rates and we saved 50 euros by using the one they recommended.
The rooms were very clean, very quiet- one of the best hotels we stayed in while in italy.
We would DEFINATELY stay with belsoggiorno again!

We only had one night at Belsoggiorno because we moved to a Villa nearby for the next week. However, we visited this hotel for dining and assistance periodically throughout the next week. All the staff was helpful but especially Alysha?. I thought that she must be the owner since her incredibly high level of service and competence was beyond what anyone of our group could have hoped for.
Each room was different but the one I was in was magnificent. It had everything plus a balcony and a view. The bed was very comfortable, the food was good, the room was very clean, and the location could not be beat.
Venere.com is the only way to make your reservation in Italy since all the places we stayed through them were outstanding.
Thank you.

Wonderful hotel! The staff were wonderful. Amazing views from room - we asked for the third floor - you open the window and there lies Tuscany! The second floor with extended terrace will probably work for families with children. Hotel was immaculate, the restaurant was topnotch, fine dining at reasonable prices (be sure to try the pear/cheese pudding entre! - weekends booked up quickly so we had to reserve to get a table. The hotel embodies the charm of San Gimignano. You can't put a price on that view! Location was great, on the main street but no real noise to worry about. Close to the best gelatarias, cafes, wine bar, and the town square. Evening were wonderful, a glass of wine from the winebar, relaxing by the great wall overlooking Tuscany, and running down the street to the hotel if we needed anything. Belsoggiorno has great internet service, and reasonable. This hotel helped make my boyfriend's and my vacation a dream - we found a wonderful jeweller around the corner and commissioned our wedding rings (we became engaged in Venice on St. Mark's Square) - so San Gimignano and Belsoggiorno are near and dear to our hearts - we plan on returning as soon as possible. Do stay there - you won't be disappointed. Try the horseback riding in Tuscany (hotel has information) - that was wonderful too. Best luck to all and I hope you'll be as happy there as we were. - Leslie and Jeff

Everything is close by. The location is fantastic. The view from our hotel room rivalled anything in town.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful, going above and beyond what one would reasonably expect.
The air conditioning was most welcome.

Definitely could recommend this hotel to anybody in this price class. The 3-person suite for 135EUR/night in July was spacious with beautiful views to the countryside. Location inside the town is very good and everything is close by. Hotel garage few hundred meters away was an unexpected plus. Reception was friendly and helpful. At breakfast I felt little akward with two noisy kids vs. other clientele consisting mainly 30+ couples and older people. The town itself was minor disappointment, probably due to too high expectations. I found e.g. Cortona and Montepulciano more interesting.
