The stay at the Beresford Arms is truly a unique San Francisco experience. The hotel is listed on the National Register Of Historic Places as one of the architecturally significant structures comprised in San Francisco's Nob Hill Historical District.

The management, over the years, has strived to preserve the historical character of the hotel and at the same time offers our guests every convenience and modern luxury.

Only two blocks far from Union Square and the cable cars running to Telegraph Hill, Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39, the hotel is at an easy walk to fine shops, theatres, Chinatown, the financial district, the Moscone Convention Center and the Museum of Modern Art.

Among the services offered there are a complimentary high-speed Internet Point, laundry service, off-site fitness center, complimentary newspapers and tour desk. Furthermore, fax and copy machine are available at the reception, which is open 24/7.

    This hotel is a great deal in San Francisco. The location is close to Union Square; the rooms are spacious and comfortable; and the morning cold breakfast and afternoon wine hour are a nice touch.

    The only real problem my wufe and I found was that nobody replied to our e-mails before our arrival. We just asked about the best way to arrive to the hotel (shuttle, etc). But probably NOBODY considered that request as important to be responded.

    Positivs: The location is central. The house is classy. Negativ: The backyard view is owfull. The lobby is god but the cleanliness could be better. The cleanliness in the rooms is not sufficient. No possibility to prepare tea at room. To less place in the lobby during breakfast time. No toast bread available. No watercooker on request at the desc. Hot water offered in the lobby has a taste of chlorine.

    i was quoted $100 dollars by yourelves for the night. it was a lovely place, but the bill was $145, all i had extra was 2 beers at $2 each. my scores represent the extra bill. it is a lovely place, but exceeded my buddget.

    Our room was big, clean, and cheap. Location of hotel is perfect for visiting san franciso. A few blocks from Union Square and walkable to the BART which takes you to/from the airport. Not to mention they had a free wine/cheese reception every night and a great continental breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay there again.

    From East Bay/Bay Bridge, take Interstate 80 West across the Bay Bridge, then take the 5th Street/Downtown exit, on the left. Veer left onto Harrison Street. Take Harrison Street one block west to 6th Street and turn right. Cross Market Street (6th becomes Taylor Street), take a left onto Geary Street, a right onto Leavenworth Street and finally a right onto Post Street. The Beresford Arms is at 701 Post Street, on the right side at the corner with Jones Street.
    From Marin/Golden Gate Bridge, take Hwy 101 South across the Golden Gate Bridge. Take Lombard Street exit and follow Lombard to Van Ness Avenue (101 South). Take a left onto Post Street. The Beresford Arms is at 701 Post Street, on the right side at the corner with Jones Street.

    By airplane
    From the Peninsula/SF International airport, take the Hwy 101 North to the Downtown/7th Street exit. Stay on 7th Street going north, cross Market Street, take a right onto Leavenworth Street and a right again onto Post Street. The Beresford Arms is at 701 Post Street, on the right side at the corner with Jones Street.
