The Kensington Park Hotel in San Francisco is located on Union Square, famous for its antique Cable Cars "climbing halfway to the stars" and world renowned shopping, from Macy's and Saks to the boutiques of Nike, Disney, Louis Vuitton and Armani.

great location within steps of union square. there are several good places for breakfast just a block away and many great restaurants in the vicinity. the price, considering the location, is excellent. the decor of our room was a bit drab and the bathroom was small, but the service was excellent and the staff very friendly.

Good impression in general. Great location in SF's centre, good rooms but not quite generous in space and quite clean. We (family with 2 kids) had a room looking at the backyard, not especially spectacular in terms of views, however very quiet. The most impressive of the hotel are its elevators (including sofa). Take care: we had a 4% discount for booking through Venere.com, however they did not consider this discount and we paid the rate booked without the discount. In addition, we tried a couple of international calls, of course the bill was quite high for the successful call, but this is something normal for hotel telephone bills. The problem was that a couple of unsuccessful calls we made (nobody picked up at the number we called) appeared as charges at the final bill. At the end, we had to pay for one of them, even though that call was never made!

Under "notes for the hotel" we noted that we assumed continental breakfast to be included, as this was listed while browsing the web. No reply to the contrary was received from the hotel. On arrival we were informed that breakfast had been discontinued several years previously. Despite several messages left onh is voice mail the manager failed to contact us. We intnd to take this matter up with the credit card company.

By car
From the east, the I-80 and the Bay Bridge: after crossing the Bay Bridge, follow Interstate 80 to the 5th street exit. Go up to 6th street and make a right turn. When 6th Street crosses Market street it becomes Taylor street. Follow Taylor street to Post street, turn right on Post street. The Kensington Park Hotel is on the left side at 450 Post street.
From the north and from the highway 101: follow the 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco. Follow the 101 through the city until it becomes Lombard street, then Van Ness avenue. Follow Van Ness avenue to Post street, then turn left on Post street. The Kensington Park Hotel is on the left side at 450 Post street.
From the south, take the highway 101 north, follow the signs to 9th street/Civic Center exit. When 9th Street crosses Market street, veer right on Larkin street. Follow Larkin street to Post street and turn right on Post street. The Kensington Park Hotel is on the left side at 450 Post street.

By airplane
From the San Francisco international airport, take the highway 101 north, follow the signs to 9th street/Civic Center exit. When 9th Street crosses Market street, veer right on Larkin street. Guests of the Kensington Park Hotel are offered preferred seating at the world renowned Farallon restaurant.

The restaurant is the latest work from designer/restaurateur Pat Kuleto. Its interiors resemble a beautiful underwater fantasy and represents the ideal setting for the coastal cuisine menu created by Chef Mark Franz.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property.
