great location within steps of union square. there are several good places for breakfast just a block away and many great restaurants in the vicinity. the price, considering the location, is excellent. the decor of our room was a bit drab and the bathroom was small, but the service was excellent and the staff very friendly.

Good impression in general. Great location in SF's centre, good rooms but not quite generous in space and quite clean. We (family with 2 kids) had a room looking at the backyard, not especially spectacular in terms of views, however very quiet. The most impressive of the hotel are its elevators (including sofa).
Take care: we had a 4% discount for booking through Venere.com, however they did not consider this discount and we paid the rate booked without the discount. In addition, we tried a couple of international calls, of course the bill was quite high for the successful call, but this is something normal for hotel telephone bills. The problem was that a couple of unsuccessful calls we made (nobody picked up at the number we called) appeared as charges at the final bill. At the end, we had to pay for one of them, even though that call was never made!

Under "notes for the hotel" we noted that we assumed continental breakfast to be included, as this was listed while browsing the web. No reply to the contrary was received from the hotel. On arrival we were informed that breakfast had been discontinued several years previously. Despite several messages left onh is voice mail the manager failed to contact us.
We intnd to take this matter up with the credit card company.
