Located only 2 km from the picturesque port of Sami, on the eastern side of Cephalonia, the Athina Beach hotel is a functional complex of fine aesthetics offering guests high quality services & comforts, thus making their stay on the island one they shall never forget.
Set amidst impressive landscapes and endless beaches, visitors will be fascinated by the crystal clear sea as well as by the enigmatic caves and the archaeological sites of the surrounding area.
Because of its quiet, secluded position, the property provides an ideal venue for pleasant and relaxing holidays. A number of restaurants and several shops are furthermore located within walking distance of the hotel.

Good position for island trip just in the middle. 30 min ride by car to reach every place. Very quite and you can't miss the manager Mr Maiki always ready to suggest places and reataurants to spend your evenings.

While the rooms were simple, they were clean. Great location: not in the center of the town, which made it quite, but within a few minutes walk. Beautiful setting on the bay, and in the center of the island, which makes it the best location if you want to explore. The best part of the hotel are the owners. They are fantastic. They treat you as if you are part of their family, and will assist in whatever they can. Be sure to ask them for restaurant reccomendations!

Our room was nice and clean with its own bathroom, free air conditioning, TV, and a balcony. It was a little small, but very comfortable. The owners were lovely and helpful and the hotel's common areas are completely relaxing and afford beautiful views. However, the property is a 20 minute walk from the town of Sami, although the walk is very pretty and along a beach boardwalk. This was a great place to stay. Renting a car is a must for the island of Kephalonia!

My stay at Hotel Athina Beach was superb! The place is clean, friendly, a great value, and close to everything. The owner/manager is directly involved and is intent on making your stay a perfect one. I wish they ran all the hotels I patronize.

We had a wonderful stay at Athina Beach. Elena was very friendly and was a great help in suggesting ways to best get around the island. She also helped us get a better price for our flight out of Kefalonia. Marcus was also extremely friendly and always had a smile on his face and greeted you every time as though you were a long time friend of his. They were wonderful to talk to and we often spent time in the hotel bar with them chatting like old friends. Although we only had a short stay (4 nights) we had a wonderful time. The staff get along with people of all ages. I would say Athina Beach caters for persons of any age. We would definately recommend this hotel!!

The hotel was quite well represented by the photos on the website. The welcoming was great and the owners were very kind in offering everyday tourist information. The hotel is located in the surroundings of SAMI, very near to the port and in a central place to see the whole island and beautiful beaches. In all cases you will need a car to see the island (that is very big).

Very nice people, good confortable and sufficiently quiet place, good services. We were a little cautious when arriving because the photos from the internet were not that great, but we did have an excellent stay and will certainly stay again in this same hotel in the future. Everything was good or even better, and the owners made it even nicer for us as for all their guests. We would strongly recommand this hotel to any person wishing an excellent central location to discover the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca. A very positive experience, and unforgettable holidays in a superb place !

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL
By airplane
From the Eleftherios Venizelos international airport of Spata (Athens) there are daily flights to the island of Kefalonia. The duration of the flight is approximately 1 hour and the airport lies 8 km away from Argostoli, the island's capital city, and about 27 km from the hotel. Bus and taxi services are available at the airport bus station, with destinations throughout the island.
By ferry & bus
From the town of Patra there are daily itineraries to the port of Sami. The duration of the journey is about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
From the town of Kilini you can also travel to the port of Argostoli (2 hours and 15 minutes) or to the port of Poros (1 hour and 15 minutes).
From Athens there are daily bus itineraries to the island of Kefalonia via Patra or Kilini. The island is also connected with Ithaca, Lefkada, Astakos, Zakynthos.
