Great hospitality, centrally located, facilities continue to exceed our expectations. This was our second time staying at the "Zur Post" and we will continue to stay there whenever we are in Salzburg.

I can't ask for more!!! The staff were super friendly and helpful and their English skills were very impressive. We had to leave at 3.45 am to the train station for our next destination and they arranged for a taxi for us. They also told us how to get to each place of interests and where to eat. Spacious and clean room w/ quiet neighborhood. The hotel was a bit far from the main attractions but w/ a reliable bus line, which was never packed, we had no problem w/ travelling around at all. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Absolutely to be recommended, if you don't mind staying 5 minutes/7 Euros out of town by taxi. Very clean and spacy rooms, friendly atmosphere, and a nice breakfast room with a good breakfast.

One particular lady, working in the kitchens, was very welcoming. As we arrived in the hotel tired after the journey she was hospitable, offering us breakfast, though the kitchen was really closing for this. She got the whole holiday off to a great start.

The staff were lovely. The hotel was lovely. The only reason I have marked the prices quoted as 9 is because we were invoiced a different price to that quoted. This was apparently the receptionist's error (which is why staff competency got a 9 too). We got this sorted out on the day though, and we paid our quoted amount. The staff were very helpful, and embarrassed about this error. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone visiting Salzburg. If you do stay at this hotel and you don't like walking, the bus service is excellent and the No 1 bus stop is very close to the hotel. If you intend to explore, I would certainly recommend the Salzburg card as this allows free entry into many of the museums, galleries and other sites of Salzburg as well as free bus travel and boat trip (in the summer only). A walk into the city centre takes about 25 minutes and is one straight road. Overall a great place to stay with very helpful and friendly staff.

The only problem with this place is that it's a short hike to the aldstadt (20 min on foot, give or take). Other than that, it's great.

A lovely little inn on a fairly major thoroughfare in and out of old Salzburg. Max Glanserstrasse goes through Sigmunds Tor and ends at the west end of the old city, a few miles from the hotel. Walking the other way, one comes upon the Stiegl Brewery and lots of lovely shops and biergartens. The room was large and lovely. I enjoyed my brief stay tremendously, and the staff were very helpful.

Ottima struttura sotto ogni punto di vista. Pulizia e cortesia ottimi. Unico neo la mancanza di aria condizionata e il disturbo divuto alla vicinanza della strada, ma queste sono giusto il classico pelo nell'uovo. Consiglierò caldamente la struttura ai miei conoscenti.

A very pleasant stay. Staff were alwasy will to help and had good local knowledge. Very convenient to airport and city centre. Bus stop right outside. I would have liked Tea and Coffee facilities in the room, but when asked, they were only to pleased to make us refreshments. I would definitely stay again when I return.

While not located in the city center, it was an easy bus ride, and was easy to find with the car. Our rooms were very nice and the service was great. Good breakfast, too!

The hotel is situated in a strategic position located in a residential area near the Airport and close to the motorway; it's about 5 minutes -by bus- from the center of the city of Salzburg: It is quite little and informal, very clean, confortable and warm and has a private parking . You can use the sauna and you can also have massages ; the breakfast is excellent and people very polite .

The pictures on the website were of a room with beautiful white and dark cherry colored wood, but the room we got was not that.I went to reception and asked for another room, she said ok and sent me to look at a room to see if I wanted that one instead. The room I saw was absolutely gorgeous, so I ran back to reception eagerly, however, the room she gave me was not the one I had just viewed, instead it was another horrible room.At this point I was too tired to complaine so I just put up with it.I paid 80 euro which is about 130 dollars american. The hotel was nice and I would stay there again, however I will ask to stay in room 201, which was the gorgeous room I had seen. The people at reception didnt seem especially friendly, even before the rooms changes, but they weren't hostile, and the rooms were quite large. The conforters were really, really nice and warm and because there is two of them there was no fighting for covers.

A lovely spot. Staff were extremely helpful--level of English excellent. Everything was exactly as promised. Breakfast very good. Nice restaurants in the area.Only problem was that it was difficult to find using only the directions provided on the website.

Very nice and spacious rooms, in our case good for the family with two rooms with a common hallway at street level. Some traffic sounds can be hard, but on the whole a peaceful location. Brakfast was great and staff very helpful and nice. Good location for trips with car (parking facilities OK) in neighbourhood (once yoy learn your way around the one-way steets and narrow rodas) and conveniently located for walks or bus trips (5 minutes) into old town.

We would happily return to Hotel Zur Post. The family owners thought of every detail and were willing to answer our many questions and requests with good cheer. The recently renovated buildings were very nice, meeting our test of having two excellent reading lamps, plus other amenties including shiny new white tiled separate bath and toilet rooms, TV, clock, ...everything worked! The breakfast dining room was spacious and attractive with a large and delicious buffet, an exceedingly nice way to start each day. We used bicycles provided by the hotel at a cost well below the city based rentals, in good condition, equipped with lights which we used for a magical ride home through the old city following a concert at the fortress and a late dinner. (the owner was waiting up for us). The hotel is a 10 minute bike ride from the old city, following a bike lane most of the way (altho we avoided the the street during heavy traffic) and passes through a pedestrian/bike tunnel under the Monchberg. The bikes also afforded us the ability to ride through outlying neighborhoods, along streams, through farmlands on well maintained and mapped bike paths. We would have extended our four day stay at Hotel Zur Post if it had been possible.

In summary, I totally enjoyed my stay at Zur Post. It was a pity I was there for only one night. The hotel room I stayed in was big, clean, nice and comfortable. It was the only hotel that provided me with free internet and only hotel with staff that were efficient and so eager to help. Need I say more? ;)

We really enjoyed our stay here. Room was very comfortable and very clean. The front desk spoke english and recommended a local restaurant nearby that had excellent Austrian food. The hotel is a short distance from town, but we had a car and parking access was convenient in town. Very casual and relaxed place to stay with good breakfast. We would definitely stay here again it was much like a B & B in the states, quality place for the price.

Ottimo. Tranquille e spaziose le stanze, ben arredate e pulite. Ottima l'accoglienza.

The hotel is new and the rooms are large and well equipped. The hotel is not near the center of the city or the train station so you have to take a bus. The bus driver had never heard of it. From the picture I expected a nice surrounding, but it is in a part of the city that does not have anything for tourists. The breakfast was good, but the busy street noise hurts the atmosphere as it does in the rooms.

This was our first visit to Salzburg and the city was amazing! What made it even better was our stay at Zur Post--it was wonderful!! The pictures Venere provides, do not do it justice. The people were friendly and helpful (Daniela especially!) and breakfast in the morning was great--the atmosphere in the breakfast room is so peaceful and relaxing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Salzburg; For the price, the rooms were very large and I've stayed in rooms throughout Europe smaller than the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful with tours. If you plan to spend most of your time in Old Town it is about a 25 minute walk, which is pretty long if it's cold. Near the hotel are markets and cafes which were very convenient. I would definately recommend Zur Post and would stay there again.

Georg and family provided excellent and courteous service in a pleasant, convenient and economic small hotel. The breakfast was great and the location was perfect, just a 15 minute walk to the Zentrum without the hassle of being located right in the Zentrum. In four days, my wife and I were able to see and do everything we had hoped to in Salzburg by walking or driving no more than a few minutes. Definitely a great small hotel!
