The staff were extremely kind and helpful.Althought the hotel seemed like a hostel, it was nice and was one of our best stays in europe.

I was disappointed with this place. It was advertised as a hotel but was actually a youth hostel type place with rooms like student accommodation. It was advertised as a double room but in fact had 2 single beds with differing heights! Surely that makes it a twin room. Tv advertised but no TV in room - apparently if you wanted a TV you had to ask. No receptionist available when we arrived - she was having dinner - had to wait in crowded reception area. The 'hotel' was very noisy with what seemed like doors slamming & lights going on all night. There was a conference for music teachers going on. It was not a good place for tourists in transit as we were.The saving grace was the breakfast which was excellent and the location - very close to the beautiful River Salzach. For what it was I thought it was expensive and will not be returning there. I would not recommend this place for anyone who wants a good, undisturbed nights sleep.

This is obviously a University/school off peak. Hotel is approximately 30 mins walk into town or 15 mins on the bus. Was fine for us, clean, breakfast was good, use of free internet was great. Would have been nice to have been able to get drinks/ice etc of the night. Salzburg was beautiful, had a great stay. Make sure you go the Salzburg tourist card for access to all the sights.

The public areas were very open, spacious and comfortable. There is free use of the internet in the lobby. I was very surprised to see such a spacious room. Breakfast choices were better here than at other hostels. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A 20-25 minute walk from the RR station or 5 -10 minutes by bus. The Kolpinghaus Hostel is not that near to the "old city" , but I enjoyed the walk, especially, along the river bank. If I didn't want to walk I could have rented a bike or taken a bus. I definitely recommend Kolpinghaus.

It is something like a student house that becomes hotel in summer. It is not so close to the center but you can reach it in 15 min by bus anyway. Rooms are simple but clean and confotable. If you are looking for a "normal" accomodation this would be ok for you. Good breakfast. Good parking.

The hotel is a little far from the trasportation facilities and if you go out at night you will definetively have to walk back to the hotel. I had the thought that this is an hotel more like a "student kind". Very nice employees and a good relation between price and the service provided.

We had very bad experience with "Kolpinghaus Salzburg" and one of the worst experience we ever encountered. 1. There are no clear directions how to reach the hotel and it took change of buses finally to reach this place. The bus no. is 6 but from train station, 6 goes in two different directions and they should have mentioned the correct bus to take. 2. It is far from bus stand and tough to reach with all the luggage. 3. Our main complaint is Check-in. We reached around 2:40 PM of our Check-in and they mentioned that the room is not ready and have to wait for half an hour. We waited till 3:30 PM before we got our room. Our day is affectively wasted. 4. There is no TV in the room, which was supposed to be there. When we asked they provided for next day. One night we missed TV. Though this may not be important in normal circumstances, as our day is wasted we thought to relax at room and realising that TV is not there affectively spoiled our moods 5. We got two single beds. What we are looking for is one double bed (Queen sized). Though I am not sure what is quoted in the description of the room, with all the other bunglings this also became sore point 6. No new soaps are provided after one day, as part of room service 7. We asked information about Famous places of Salzburg (we know the places. What we are looking for is Bus number and where to get off to reach our destination etc.,). Staff is not aware of even famous tourist places locations or information. This is surprising Breakfast is ok. We didnt try dinner as we heard horror stories from other respondents on web forums. To sum our experience, we are disappointed and one of our worst stay in Europe and we are comparing this experience with our travel 3 times to Europe in different countries / cities. Dont ever go to this hotel. Run away from it, like it is a disaster. The price is high and service is lousy. Why someone pay high $$$s and get lousy service in inaccessible locat

Le 2ème jour ayant visité le Hohensalzburg, nous avons perdu la clé de la chambre de l'Hôtel. Nous sommes retournés au KolpingHaus pour le signaler et nous avons été amèrement surpris par l'exagération de la sanction (40 €)! En plus le 3ème soir à notre arrivée dans la chambre à 22 heures, nous avons constaté que le lit supplémentaire avait été enlevé ! Nous étions trois personnes ! Ayant fait appel à la Réception, ceux-ci ont remédié à la situation. Malheureusement sans dédommagement...

Very nice staff and very soldi and clean rooms in a modern building. good breakfast with helpful employees. no TV in the room. internet access in the lobby was broken.

The website does not do justice to the fact that the hotel is located in such a beautiful location. The web presence should be improved with better quality photos. Services available to the customers during their stay should be advertised better - Internet access seemed very restricted. Breakfast was excellent !

je ne considere pas que c'est un hotel... ce sont des chambres etudiant .... l'odeur est flagrante dans les couloirs, les chambres ont vraiment le strict minimum.. cependant l'accueil est correct et l'hotel assez facile a localiser

The room was wonderful and the facilities were very accessible to the town. The food offered for the evening meal was absolutely horrific. It was some of the worst food I have ever encountered, and I was in the military and lived in a dorm in college! Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. They had bicycles rentals very cheap, which was a really great addition to the services available. The staff working at the front desk were very helpful and kind. My only complaint is the food. Breakfast wasn't too bad, but that dinner was horrible. Thanks, Cheers!

It is a nice hotel, quite far from the city centre, but you can rent a bike. The staff is welcoming, and there is as well someone who speak italian. it was a nice permanence.

We only stayed the one night which was probably enough. The hotel was clean and friendly but lacked any kind of atmosphere, pretty dull. There is nothing to do surrounding the hotel so o.k if your just passing through.

Room cleaning too late when we already be there, too dirty inside give us bad image,but after cleaned are fine.
