Excellent place to stay, the restaurant is very good, shame it is closed on Sundays. Pleasant staff, helpful and competent.

A good location. Able to walk with luggage from the train station and also within walking distance of all the attractions. Hotel has a pleasant beer garden and a good sauna area. The room was as expected for a single bed room, but the bathroom more spacious than expected.

Nice Hotel, very commod and near to the centre. (just 4 stops or 15 min. walk) The staff is friendly and polite and the breakfast is reach and tasty. The room was clean and quiet even if we were in front of the main street.

The staff were excellent, we came in much earlier than expected and thought we might drop our luggage off until check-in but the rooms were available we we were able to prepare for the full day of activities. The food was great as well as the service. The only thing to be aware of is it is a european hotel, Americans should expect smaller rooms than in the US. This is where I'll stay when we come back to Salzburg.

The holiday was to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. The hotel was everything we had hoped for, and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The Hotel is in a good location with easy access to both the new and old towns of Salzburg. The bus network is accessible very close by, and there is a small shopping mall near to the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay! The front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect for us - in easy walking distance of both the train station and the city center. Both the room and the restaurant had very pleasing atmospheres. The included breakfast had a nice variety of delicious foods, and we also had dinner at the restaurant which was good food at a reasonable price. Thank-you! We would definitely return.

I was in Salzburg many times and it was my first accomodation in this hotel/ It was choosen due to the closest location to the Central Rail Station. I very like this hotel, it is nice equiped, has large restaurant and wide range of breakfast meal. The room was big and nice decorated. There are special services for relaxation, spa procedures and massage. The bus stop to Salzburg downtown is 1 min to walk. Unfortunately Internet WiFi access is relatively expencive.

Very convenient to train station and easy to catch bus into old town. Room for 3 was bit small but otherwise was clean and adequate. Lots of tours available from hotel front desk. Breakfast had hot and cold items and was filling.

Meals were excellent. Breakfast buffet was loaded with fresh fruit..yummy scrambled eggs too. Saunas were great, but odd hours (1-9PM). Friday night is beer & pretzel night in bar with live music...wonderful! Fan in room makes noises, but doesn't seem to move air; had to open window over busy street for ventilation- a bit noisy. Overall, an excellent hotel.

family of 2, children aged 9 and 11. Loved this hotel, location excellent, 5 minute walk from Mirabelle gardens also very close to bus stop which was easy and convenient. Breakfast wonderful and dinner or just a drink in the beer garden an added bonus.

The breakfast staff were efficient but a little aloof. The evening staff at dinner were on the whole pleasant but failed to bring desserts and extra drinks without several requests. The service was a little slow and the menu was rather limited, especially the desserts. However the rooms were lovely, the area was okay during the day but seedy in the evening.

Very nice. Wonderful breakfast! Close to train station, but a bit far from main area. Can walk, but suggest taxi. Very large, clean rooms. Free internet and ice machine!! Staff very helpful. We would stay here again, but would consider closer into town.

This is a lovely hotel and although it is on a busy street the room was quiet. It was easy to find and the parking was good. It is a pleasant 15 minute walk through the Mirabell Gardens and along the river to the old town. Breakfast was good. It was good to have air conditioning and free internet access. My only criticism is that we had a triple room and the third bed was a bed settee which was not so comfortable. At the price I'd expect a bed.

The staff was amazing! The booked our Sound of Music tour for us in advance. The girl at the deak spoke great English and was ver patient answering all of our questions. The bar/restaurant was great for food and ambience! We even got to take our steins of beer up to the Solarium and sit in the sun.

This was an excellent hotel and I would definitely stay here again. The only issue I had that prevented this from being an overall exceptional experience was some maintenance they were doing relatively early one morning which awoke my family and me. However, I view that as an anomaly/outlier. Other than that, it was a great experience ranging from the nice, clean and spacious room (we were on the top floor in a newly renovated room that slept four) a wonderfully helpful staff (making reservations, providing information, etc.) and a great morning breakfast (one of the best of all the hotels (13 I believe) we stayed at throughout our five week trip throughout Europe). The hotel is very close to the train station and bus routes. Based on my experience, I highly recommend this hotel.

Front desk afternoon/evening staff was unfriendly, though sometimes helpful. There was a problem with our reservation, so they tried to put us in an un-airconditioned hotel farther away from the center -- when the whole reason we wanted to stay there was the air conditioning.

THE HOTEL IS NEAR THE TRAIN STATION AND 20 MINUTES WALKING TO THE OLD CITY. THEY RENT BIKES AND THERE'S A SMALL BIERGARTEN NEXT TO.THE WEATHER WAS SO HOT AND THERE'S NO AIR CONDITIONER IN THE ROOMS.THE STAFF WAS SO HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY.

This hotel is very well located: walking-distant from the railway station (5 min) and Mirabel Gardens (10 min). The room is spacious with a big bathroom as well. The spa is unbelievable: many saunas, baths and steam-rooms. Excelent! I would come back and recommend this property for sure!

Good hotel, nice walk to old town, the only thing that spoilt it for us was the smell of stale cigars in bedrooms and all public areas, which was a pity because the staff were helpful, the breakfast was good, never tried the evening meal because of the smell of smoke. Good restauants with non smoking ares close by.

We stayed 2 nights in a family room. The first night, the A/C was broken but it was fixed the next day. A bit noisy the first night with the windows open. Very good breakfast and nice outdoor restaurant for dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

Given the convenient location of this hotel for access to the old town of Salzburg just across the river, the pricing was great, superb car parking area and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Wireless Internet access was an added benefit and I'd happily recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Salzburg - superb.

Quite happy with overall quality & cleanliness of hotel. However this hotel was a Best Western when I booked it and I feel that I should have been informed that this had changed ownership. Best Western are a reliable and internationally trusted company and this change would have most probrably altered my decision to stay there. I realise that we stayed over the New Year Period, but it would have been nice to know that there were going to be no restaurant or bar open until 6th January. This was particularily annoying as the restaurant and bar facilities displayed on the website looked very appealing and did not mention any closures.

The bedroom was very clean, well equipped and quiet. The bathroom benefitted from a separate toilet and the shower was huge - we shared of course to save water! In fact we could have spent more time in the shower but we only had one night. We arrived too late to eat at the hotel but the receptionist recommended a Gasthof a block down the road which served until 2am. We had an excellent meal which was extremely reasonable. We would definitely go back to this hotel. It was situated across the river from the main streets but very near to the railway station - which is one of the reasons we booked it as we took the train to Vienna for the rest of our holiday.

I stayed for two nights, and was glad I booked this hotel. The facilities were spotless, the room was enormous - not the norm for a single traveller, and I was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and a good variety, with reception open 24 hours for late revellers! For anyone flying in to the airport - get a #2 bus, and alight at Kiesel. The hotel is 2 mins round the corner. The bus stop across the road from where you alight is ideal for going back. If you want a hotel in a scenic part of town - which wasn't important to me - this wouldn't be the hotel for you. But it is only 10 mins walk to the Mirabel Gardens, and 20 mins from the heart of the old town - and it's excellent value for money.

The hotel room faced a very busy street with traffic that was running almost all night. If you left the windows closed it helped reduce the noise quite a bit. Easy access to buses and trains. Walkable to old town and the river.

We requested one room for four adults and were quoted $144 per night, which we thought was great and took it. When we arrived at the hotel, they informed us that this price was for 2 adults and 2 children, and we ended up having to stay in 2 rooms for $110 each. So what we read on Venere and what happened at the hotel was quite different. They said it was in the fine print, but we never saw it. So we were dissappointed to have to pay so much extra. We decided to find another hotel for our second night. Besides that, the hotel was very nice and breakfast was great!

We stayed in a triple room, facing the street. However, there was no traffic noise thanks to excellent sound insulation. The room was quite spacious, bright, sparkling clean and very pleasant. It was a very nice room to return to after walking about Salzburg. For folks who don't mind a short (10 minute walk), this hotel offers a very fine option. It is also within very easy walking distance from the rail station. The hotel restaurant was a bit short-staffed on the day we stayed (Austria's national day), perhaps there is better staffing ordinarily. However, the food was surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant and we enjoyed our meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

We had a very good dinner in the restaurant as well as the continental breakfast. The size of the hotel facility was good, making it cozy and quaint. It was very convenient as we were travelling by train, 5 minutes to the station and also a comfortable walk to Old Town. Compared to higher prices closer to the Old Town, I would recommend this hotel.
