The pension is located outside of the Salzburg city---about 30 minutes by bus but it was worth the trip. You may want to write down the time table at the bus stop. I ate at Sallerhof restaurant once and was excellent. I enjoyed my stay at the pension. I also did "Sound of Music" tour, which was fun. I highly recommend this pension.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay in this place. Staff was very accomodating with each of our requests. It is 20-30 minutes from old town but public transportation was readily available and directions for using our auto.

Excellent hotel in good area and not expensive. Bus ride to city centre very convenient. Room extremely comfortable and clean and staff very friendly. An ideal location in a quiet area but also handy to shops and restaurants. Recommended for all ages and would definitely stay there again.

As an American, it is difficult to get used to the prices in Austria as the Euro exchange rate makes them even more expensive than they are to a European. So I viewed the price as very high, but I enjoyed the stay and the breakfast was outstanding.

Beds were extremely comfortable, pension was welcoming and felt like home. Great location with beautiful scenery just outside your window. Pension offers tour bookings around Salzburg area, bus information, etc. Very helpful and kind. Wonderful breakfast.

Spent four nights at the Sallerhof. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful and provided a wealth of information on the attractions and the local amenities.
Well worth a visit!

The hotel was very clean and quiet with an excellent location very close to the old city part of Salzburg. We got the Salzburg card that was the best value we found during our month long stay in Europe. The room was quite spacious with a good balcony overlooking the mountain. Friendly and helpful staff but it would be nice to have a restaurant recommended otherwise it's by sheer luck that you find a good one. Would recommend this place to others. The internet was not working during our visit which was unfortunate.

This is a very nice bed and breakfast type property. The only thing that could have been mentioned was that there was building work going on to extend the hotel when we stayed. However, apparently this is to be done by July this year. The location is great- just outside salzburg and very easy to get to if you are driving. Room was comfortable although view from room not great as this property is in the middle of a village. The owners were lovely people and very helpfull with advising sightseeing tours.
Overall highly recommended for a short break or stopover or a longer hoiday.

My husband and I had a long weekend away, leaving the children behind. We had a lovely time. The Pension-Hotel Sallerhof was only 20 to 25 minutes away from Salzburg by bus, and the bus route was so easy to follow. On our first night we enjoyed a lovely meal in the village of Grodig bei Salzburg. Everyone in the Pension-Hotel Sallerhof was very friendly and informative, and willing to help any way they could. The views are spectacular. Would definitely stay again and would even take the children next time.

I highly recommend the Sallerhof. THe hotel is in a quiet location, and is only about 10 minutes drive from the old town district of Salzburg. The rooms are very nice, and the breakfast was excellent. This is almost more of a bed & breakfast than a hotel, which made the stay there even more enjoyable. The owners are extremely helpful with directions and tour information.

The owner was very helpful and provided ecellent sightseeing information and brochures (in English)when we checked-in. The hotel is beautifully situated in a little village just outside Saltzburg, with good restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good and served in an attractive breakfast room. Public transport is available into Saltzburg, but a little infrequent if you have limited time. We used our car, for which there was ample parking on-site. I would certainly stay here again.

We asked to stay an extra night and the hotel was very accommodating. Breakfast was excellent, well served and lots of choices and variety. Restaurants in area were very good and within easy walking distance. Access to bus and old town made traveling to inner city enjoyable. We used the Park & Ride (no charge) which was about 4 km from the hotel, and did not have to change busses. The sign for the hotel was behind another building and we along with another couple tried to get in at the wrong drive. A sign on the road access indicating the exact hotel location and entrance would have been helpful.

Excellent location. Very close to dowtown Salzburg. Rooms are beautiful. Only thing missing is a phone. We were however able to use the main phone in the office without any problems. Staff very helpful and friendly in planning excursions. Enjoyed our stay at Sallerhof and would definitely stay again. Breakfast included. Very very good!
