Hotel Le Mas des Carassins - Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

My wife and I enjoyed a "sublime" week at Le Mas des Carassins from May 9-16, 2008! The gardens and pool area of this "country inn" are beautifully tranquil, with views of the Alpilles range to the south. The location just a kilometer south of St. Remy makes walking into town, or south to Les Antiques and Glanum easy. Easy ingress, egress and parking make it a perfect "base camp" for auto tours of Provence. We enjoyed dinner at the Mas 4 of our 8 nights there, and the food and wine were perfect...we should have dined there every night! I hope we will have an opportunity to visit again!

What a nice hotel, with a charming room and garden. The town itself is OK, (something u could miss easily). I recommend this hotel for a romantic/charming experience along your stay in Provence, however, hold to your wallet, because they are not exactly honest. Unfortunately, the hotel management/staff tried to charge me 124 euros for my room, I had to show my e-mail with the original 99 euros for the attendant to change the price, otherwise it wouldn't happen. Also I purchased a half bottle of wine for 7 euros, they charged me 17 (this I had to pay). The dinner itself is really bad, great enviroment, poor food. They served me 1 (one!) slice of low quality prosciuto with a mini pizza, really forgetable beef, and a dessert you could buy packed in any supermarket for 28 euros (bad call to eat there).

A truly delightful experience. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Owners/staff went out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommend.

Excellent hotel with magnificent dinner provided at reasonable rates. Rooms vary; the cheaper ones are a bit small, but are still in very good condition. Lovely garden. Very friendly hosts. The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from the centre of town. During the day, this is no problem, and the natural beauty makes its location with the small distance. However, one is less likely to walk into town at night, especially if the weather is cool.

We were less confident in booking Le Mas and we were disappointed in the room, but the dinner made up for it. Le Mas earns it's 4 stars from it's cuisine, not the property. I would rate it a 3 star hotel.

The hotel & Room are very confortable, also the staff of the hotel is good.. I advice this very nice and quiet place to all..

This is a really nice little hotel, the only thing is that it is not ideal for winter - tiled floors are very cold and we expected about 20 deg C but in fact it was 3 deg. Typically French and understated

Hotel was somewhat hard to find - map was not very clear. Only happended to spot sign on main road directing down a side street. Location was very good for a short walk into main part of town.

The room was a bit cramped, but absolutely adorable and impeccably clean. The air conditioning worked best of all the places we stayed in Provence. Parking was good. Breakfast was the best of the Continental types we experienced. The view from the room of the garden courtyard was very nice. It was a bit of a walk into the center of town. We would definitely stay there again.
