The Villa Mauresque is breathtakingly beautiful. The location is lovely. Just slightly out of the hustle and bustle of San Raphael and Frejus wich are both booming with fun bars and beaches. It is serene and very well manicured. All of that said, they seem to be trying to make it something it is not. Or at least not what is portrayed when you read about it online. The owners are a husband and wife, it was conveyed to us that they recently acquired the Villa Mauresque. The wife is lovely. Upon our check in which was well after 3 the room was not ready. They offered us a lovely glass of white wine "on the house" to subdue our wait. In the mean time a young lady from the U.S.A who was working there for the summer showed us around the grounds. What you must know and what is not explained is that there are 2 villa's on the grounds. The picture you see of the view is Villa Giardin, the other villa is Villa Palais. Both are lovely but do not expect a sea view if you are staying in Villa Palais it is set back too far and the beautiful foliage obstructs the view. The gardens are amazingly beautiful and each Villa has it's own pool so you needn't worry about crowding. However, you do not have the use of both areas they "highly reccommend" you use the facilities of the Villa you have been assigned. After seeing the grounds and learning the rules of the separate Villa's we were told our room was ready. We were really anticiapating something fabulous. Not so. 175 euro per night here buys you the bare minimum. The room was small with a bed, dresser and a sofa. The bathroom was even smaller. The bathrooms saving grace was the shower which had 6 spouts down the sides and then the top so it was very relaxing. The walls in the rooms were white the bedding was white and the curtains were white. No TV (although you can ask for one at reception...huh?) No phone. (So you can call reception any time, however, hopefully you carry a cell phone to do so.)It felt more like a hospital room tha

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
On the A8 motorway, exit at Saint-Raphaël-Fréjus (onto the D37 road) and follow the signs to Saint-Raphaël-Fréjus Centre, then to Saint-Raphaël, Centre Ville, Bord de Mer. The road will fork, take right to Saint-Raphaël-Port Santa Lucia. At the next fork, take right again and follow the signs to the Casino. You will go past a port, carry on along the coastal road and you will get to another port, the Port Santa Lucia.
At the roundabout, go straight. The Villa Mauresque is about 2.5 Km from this port. The road will slope up and down, and on your right you will see a blue CERS sign. The villa is 500 metres on the right, a cream coloured crenellated building.

By airplane
From Nice (60 km), Marseilles (90 km) and Toulon (60 km) airports, join the A8 motorway, exit at Saint-Raphaël-Fréjus (onto the D37 road), and follow the instructions as above.
