Be careful; check that the restaurant and bar are actually open for your stay. I arrived at 8.30 pm on a Wednesday evening and neither was open - which I was told was common for weekdays in Winter! Also from the standard of the somewhat dowdy rooms and corridors this is NOT a three star hotel; more a one star establishment.

The reception and Restaurant staff exellant although the bar itself was often left unoccupied for periods of time.Hotel itself was very good although we found the room small and because of this, the hanging space in the bathroom was not very convenient.

probably the worst three star hotel we have ever stayed in en France. The carpets were filthy, the bed and bathroom had someones hair in it , the basin was chipped and the welcome was frosty. The chef greeted us with a complaint at reception saying he had too much work to do. We did not eat or drink in the hotel based on the cleanliness or lack thereof of the the room.

The overall quality was excellent especially the food, which was well presented, well cooked and really good to eat. An outstanding hotel for a short stay.

Basic accomodation, more like a 2 star than a 3 star. I came down to breakfast 10 minutes before closing time to find that they had closed early as they thought everyone had been down. No alternative offered. I may have missed this information but I though the price quoted included local taxes. These added 15% to the price I had expected.

Hotel was well located and had a lovely restarant but rooms were very small, plain and rather dated. Good value for money but would not go back here to stay, only to eat.

There was a very 'musty' smell in the room when we arrived, but this did disappear after the first night. The room was quite cramped and the light fitting was much too low - very dangerous for people who are 6 feet tall (as I am). We had to put a chair under the light fitting to make sure that we didn't hit our heads on it. The staff were friendly and the hotel is well located within the town. I was disappointed that breakfast was extra - in my opinion, this made the hotel quite expensive for the level of service offered. As most visitors will require breakfast, I would prefer to see all prices quoted inclusive of breakfast - having to pay extra on the room price effectively increases the cost by 17 euros per night. We enjoyed our stay overall but the room did disapoint a little for the price.

Good basic facilities at a very competetive price. Restaurant and breakfast very good. Shower/ toilet area rather small. Overall well pleased.

Le Bretagne is well situated and close to the main square in St Omer with an abundance of pubs, cafes and restaurants. The architecture is outstanding. It was lovely to get away from Calais! Unfortunately we were a little disappointed with the 'superior room' with a shower spraying more on the floor and carpet than in the bath, no tea/coffee facilities in room and an ever open front door on what turned out to be a freezing week end - you didn't hang about in reception for long. The breakfast was boring with I can't believe packaged cheese from a country full of fine cheeses! Pity the car park was full of English cars - it would have been more interesting to meet other Europeans!

Excellent Restaurant and food. Room was supposed to be 'superior' but was quite small AND NOISY.. backed onto a heavily use thoroughfare..
