Great location and for an overnight stay quite good.
The room and bathroom rather small and tired but otherwise acceptable.
The price somewhat high for an off-season period.

The staff were lovely, though didnt speak too much English, they appreciated my attempts at Italian. It is right on the sea front and an easy walk from the station. The room is small but adequate and we felt comfortable. The matress was fantastic!

People befor me described it pretty well, it helped me a lot, to decide. I just need to rectify one thing: the McDonalds air conditioner can't be heard in the rooms if the windows are closed. They isolate pretty well the outside noises.

The hotel is on a busy street and we had a front room. The noise from the street traffic and the beach was horrible and continued into the night.
The owners of the hotel were delightful and recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner- set up an early morning pickupwith a cab.
With a quieter room we would have been 100% satisfied.

It was the most pleasant part of our trip and we hope to return. The rooms are spacious and clean, and it is directly across the street from the beach. Roma-Lido is a nice little town from 1925, and is a one-Euro ride from the Colosseum - not to mention it's ten degrees cooler and less expensive than Rome.

A really nice place to stay when you are in Lido - right opposite the beach. Very friendly staff. We had a GREAT room with a large terrace and terrific sea view but there are not many rooms like that.
Breakfast is very basic, not really worth having it in the hotel. There are many nice places nearby to have a coffee and tramezzini.
Apart from the breakfast nothing to complain about and the Hotel is really well located in Lido.

OK for Italy but pitiful compared to new Zealand! Visitors who do not wish to stay in the city.
The hotel is easy accessible to Rome by public transport. We would have liked better access to the beach and some facilities there.

Overall the hotel was fine because all we wanted was to be close to the airport for an early morning flight. The room was small and so was the bathroom, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The reception area and our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The hotel is on a busy street and is next to a beer hall and the crowd partied until 3:30 in the morning - we did not get much sleep! We did find a nice little resturant around the corner were we had some grilled fish that was good. Ostia was interesting but one day was enough.

WE REALLY HAVE FUN WHILE WE STAIED AT THIS HOTEL, EVEN THOUGH THE ROOM THAT WE HAD WAS A LITTLE BIT SMALL, IT WAS OKAY BECAUSE WE HAD A BIG BALCONY WITH OCEAN VIEW AND CENTER ENTERTAINMENT RIGHT AT FRONT. THE STAFF SR. ROBERTO, WAS REALLY, REALLY NICE AND VERY HELPFUL IN EVERYTHING!!! HIS SYSTERS SRA. JOVANA AND LA SRA. FRANCA WERE REALLY NICE AND HELPFUL AS WELL. WE REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE! TRAIN STATION AND BUSES TO THE CITY CENTER, WERE REALLY COVENIENT, DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT. ALSO THE AIRPORT WAS ABOUT 10 MINUTES FROM THE HOTEL AND THE BEACH WAS JUST ACROSS THE STREET. BESIDE THE MCDONALD LOCATED RIGHT BESIDE AND/OR BELOW THE HOTEL, THERE WERE OTHER NICE RESTAURANTS AND BUSINESSES CLOSE BY. OVER ALL, IT WAS WHAT WE WHERE LOOKING FOR IN TERMS OF LOCATION, CONVENIENCE AND ENVIRONMENT. THE CITY CENTER WAS 38 MINUTES AWAY BY TRAIN, WHICH WAS NOT A PROBLEM BECAUSE WE ONLY WHENT TO SEE THE MAIN MONUMENTS AND THE COLLOSEUM WAKING OR BY BUS AND BOAT RIDES. NEXT TIME I GO TO ROME, LA SCALLETA IS MY CHOICE.

We stayd in April 2006. A little hotel above mc'donalds with sea view (sandy beach). Because off traffic noise we had to use earpads. Breakfast have been served on the italien way - in foils. To Rome it takes 40 min. by train, to the airport 15 min. by bus.

No regrets. Recommended for good location, room had sea view, restaurants and bars very close by, 20 min. drive from airport Fiumicino.
Would not spend my holidays there but good enough for an overnight stay.

This place is probably rented by hours. If you are OK with the thick smoke (non smoking roule is gnored even by some hotel staff), noise and sounds of other people making out at night behind the wall and yesterday cakes for breakfast and almost nothing else (the same set of cakes was on the table during our 2 day stay) then rent it. We would spend our 72 Euros somewere else next time. Poorest place we stayed in Italy and far from town.

The hotel need to do something about the sounds (fans) from the nearby McDonalds restaurang, which made it difficult to sleep in a room towards the back garden. Otherwise very nice and warm welcome. The breakfast would be improved if completed with some fresh bread, cheese and yoghurt.

Nice small and simple hotel. If you're looking for a stay out of the city of rome (40 mins. by train), this hotel is a good choice.
Staff very friendly. If you're lucky enough to get 1 of the rooms with the big balconies, there's not much more to wish for.

We did not eat breakfast there. There is a coffee shop around the corner. The first night we were there we had a balcony overlooking the water. Our last night stay there we were at the back of the hotel and could see the water only by leaning out of the window. The views, however, of the beach are wonderful. The room was clean but nothing special. There are several nice restaurants in the neighborhood. Very easy access by car to the airport.

This is not a luxerious hotel, but nobody can expect that with such moderate room prices.
The location is excellent, the rooms are clean and most of all : This house has an absolut pleasant athmosphare because of the great friendlyness of the hotel staff ! Also the information about Rome and this area given by the hotel (map and a small book) are very helpful. If we ever will come back to Rome, we surely will choice this hotel again !

If you wanna turn back the time with 50 years is a good choice if not go somewhere else. The rooms had a nasty smell, the shower...well...if you wanna know how the shower was in your grandparents time...go there.
p.s. but, you know...they have air condition...from the museum.

The location of the hotel was fantastic - our room had a balcony with a great view of the water. Some of the staff did not speak English, so it was an adventure trying to confirm we had a taxi coming very early in the morning (it all worked out). The ride to the airport was a little over 30 Euro, but it was 4:00 in the morning, so it was worth it.

The location is great, with the beach right across the street with our balcony facing out on it. The room was small but comfortable. As we had limited grasp of Italy, we were somewhat concerned about the staff's limited English, but they were very helpful and willing to work with our limitations of each others languages. All in all, a very nice stay.

The hotel was a nice little hotel near the pier. For comparative prices in the area, i think it was a deal if one is not looking for too much, but I'm personally used to finding much cheaper hotels in Florida. The managment was friendly (had to bust out the english-italian dictionarry a few times) A bit noisy, but i had great weather so everything was cool.
The map on the site is very poor, and I had a hard time finding the place, so be careful.

The small hotel is across the street from the beach and a fifteen minute walk from the train station. A few blocks to the bus stop for Ostia Antica. The employees do not speak English well. Taxi fare from this hotel to airport was a whopping 30 E before 7 AM! They were generous with a plastic wrapped breakfast when we left before breakfast was served.

We wanted a hotel for 1 night close to the airport, so didn't need any other hotel facilites. This hotel provided the simple requirement of rooms/beds for 1 night. Although situated nex to a McDonalds takeaway, there seemed to be little if any noise generated by them. A taxi was arranged by the hotel and arrived in good time. The surrounding area is pleasant, and is a distance from rome centre.

The beach view was marred by truck traffic and garbage bins, the area was rundown, and the dingy hotel entrance was hard to find. The reception area was untidy, serving mainly as a bedsitting room for the hotel attendant. Our room was small, dark, noisy, and dusty. And our breakfast of plastic-wrapped croissants and hard bread was presided over by a family of persistant flies. A disappointing end to an otherwise lovely stay in italy.

Cramped rooms that could use updating, but location was convenient to the airport and it was a nice seaside setting. Breakfast was below par for similar small Italian hotels and having a McDonalds restaurant on the ground level attracted more night time noise and crowds than would otherwise have been desirable. Staff were friendly and helpful, but being able to speak Italian helped considerably.

Lovely and convenient location beside the sea and the interesting stores and restaurants of Ostia. Hotel hallways interesting (with historic pictures of area) and room tastefully decorated, particularly draperies and bedding. The bathroom was attractive too, modern and immaculate. The bonus was a wide balcony with table and chairs and view of the Mediterranean Sea. Only a 5-minute walk to the train station followed by 1/2 hour ride to Rome. Highly recommended for those wishing to visit Rome a day before leaving from the nearby airport (just a 15-minute drive from the hotel). Minor complaint that evening reception staff spoke no English at all but, by referring to our Italian dictionary, we managed to convey our needs re a morning wake-up call.

Great little hotel right on the boardwalk of Ostia. The owner ? was incredibly nice - giving us his parking spot in front of the hotel - picking great places for dinner - ideas for spending the day in the area, etc. SImple, clean rooms - some with balconies overlooking the ocean - this hotel is an incredibly good value. Thanks !

Located next to the beach road we found this place very noisy especially at night when trying to sleep. Locationally it was excellent, being next to the (expensive) beaches and less than 10 mins from the station for Rome. Amazing old town of Ostia Antica nearby makes this a very good area to stay, however a hotel away from the traffic (with a balcony, although Scaletta did have a few, we didnt realise and didnt have one) would have been better. The fact my gf and I broke up after the holiday doesnt detract from loving this location.
