This is a family run hotel, and the reception was very friendly, but considering the price (£100 per night)I thought the bedroom and bathroom were very small. The breakfast was very poor and I will not be recommending the hotel to friends.

Considering price a more substantial breakfast and room size would have been expected. Fantastic location. Good for a night or two but no more.In need of a refurb. This is really a B&B or really just a B considering the breakfast.

This was a 1 star location.
It is very basic. It is safe. This is truly for the budget conscious only.
Greatest disappointment was the smell in the bathroom; which led one to question the cleanliness of it. The smell contributed to a poor night sleep & our decision to bail out of this location after the first night. The penalty to do so was excessive, however the right decision in order not to spoil our overall vacation.

I traveled to Rome with my new husband on our honeymoon. It was our first day in Rome after nearly 24 hours of air travel from FLorida. Hotel Margaret staff were very welcoming with a family atmosphere. The room was efficient, comfortable and clean; exactly what we needed.

Great location, 15mins walk from Termini and about 10mins to the Metro. More convenient is Bus 62 which stops right next to the hotel and it takes you through the centre of the city and the Vatican City.
Run by a charming and friendly old couple, the hotel is on 4th floor of an old building. Rooms aren't too spacious but clean and sufficient. Value for $$. Nice restaurant right opposite the hotel too.

Good point: price is good comparing to other hotel. In central ,convenient
To be improved: have to leave your room by 10 am rather than 12. There is a bug in the bed. toilet in the room is smelly.
maybe good for budget traveler. will go for a better one next time.

A nice and little clean hotel. Breakfast was very poor (typically italia, only a corn and two dry biscuits, little bit of butter and marmelade, coffee, milk). Room was good with tv (only italian). The bed was ok, very quiet. The windows didn't close good, so there was a breath of fresh and cold air in the night. The heating didn't work well.
The personal (he) was very friendly, speaks english, let us know about thieves and risks of rome, shows us places to eat cheap, gives tips for nice places to visit in rome. She wasn't that friendly, speaks only a few words english and was tired every morning while served the breakfast.
We do breakfast ourselves after two mornings and that was really good :)
All in all a nice hotel room to stay, not to expansive and with clean toilets and shower. Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels.

If you do not mind walking a little bit, it is the best situated Hotel. It is 5-10 minutes from Termini and 5-10 minutes from the touristic places. Rome is the ideal place to go everywhere walking.
The owner are really nice people. The rooms situated on the floor above of the reception are new and really beautiful.

The room was very very small, no space to actually open the suitcase (only if you were to put it on the bad)...each time you entered the hotel, you had to wait for somebody to open a door, which I still don't get why it was there! The "Restaurant" was interesting too...the matrimonial bed, were actually 2 beds put together, which all the time were separated because of the rolls underneath...the bathroom was so small that you could not slip in it...it was impossible to fall there...this is actually a good thing!! The only good thing about it is that it is central, and the bus connection is quite good...still I find it too expensive for the things that offer to the cleints...however, we went to visit Roma, and the city is superbe, is breathtaking...

The room was clean but hard to find the location, about 15mins walk to train station. The mainly complain is they mentioned the price is INCLUDED breakfast BUT finally, they ask for another 5 euro for the breakfast when we were hurry for leaving.

Very nice two star hotel. Super friendly staff. Only daughter speaks fluent English. Couldn't understand from the owner on why with all the Credit Card stickers all over the check in/out area, they only wanted cash?!! Read other reviews for the small lift, five flights up, etc. None of these 'problems' are problems unless you're a "5 star Hilton" type of person. For a great 'European' hotel this is it.

were offered a smaller room with attached bathroom, while we had only booked one without. the room was tiny though, with about a foot around each side of the bed. seeing as we had quite a bit of luggage it made it interesting. Included breakfast is always a hit if you can make it up in time as well.

The family who runs this hotel are very friendly and helpful and the son and father speaks English. Breakfast was the typical Italian breakfast: Croissant and espresso.
The room was small but adequate and clean and had a TV with MTV and the Italian channels. We had booked a room without private bathroom, but got our own private bathroom when we got there for the same price. It was allways cleaned very nicely when we got back from our morning adventures.
Five minute walk from Piazza Republica (Tube Station) or ten minutes from the Main Station Termini.

There were no rubbish bins in the rooms which was incovenient. Maybe because we arrived on a Friday we copped the weekend cleaning team because the rubbish accumulated in bags in our room until Monday, when it disappeared and suddenly we had fresh towels. The booking in procedure was labour intensive, people need to be told by the man in the lobby to leave their luggage there and go up to the 4th floor to find out where their room is as quite often it is in a different building. We wasted a great deal of time carting our luggage around.

The Margaret hosts were very friendly and helpful and had some excellent restaraunt recommendations. The hotel location was great and convenient and our requested 'quiet room' was for external, the very close quarters to neighbors internally was not so quiet,on occasion. We have no other Rome hotel experience to compare but we imagine they are all relatively small sized rooms in this price range.

The staff was very friendly and made excellent restaurant and gelateria recommendations. Make sure you request a room off the main street if you are staying during a time of year where you will want the window open, since the street noise is quite loud. The only reason I would not return to the hotel is that I cannot afford it unless traveling with others so that I can share the cost.

staff very kindly, location good (in the centre of Rome, near piazza barberini. Nearly all the attractives of the city are at a walking distance) but unfortunately very close to a noisy street. Poor breakfast (only bread, marmelade, butter and croissant, without a buffet). Anyway low prices, good for few nights.

This hotel was about the only chose we had looking for a quadroom. This room had 4 beds, but we had to share a restroom with two other large rooms. (That was not disclosed)
It is in a great location... but not the best for how much we paid.

This was the filthiest room I have ever had and I would never go back there. The fellow at the front desk was friendly and helpful but he too needed a bath. I beleive this hotel should be inspected by the health authority. We left at 4:00 am as we could not stand the stench. Brutal!!

The hotel is an ideal choice for staying in Rome on a budget. The room was a bit small but given the price I thought it was a good value. I was upgraded to a private shower/bath (reserved shared) at no additional charge. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with any type of recommendation requests. Within walking distance to all the major sites and near the subway station to the Vatican (I actually walked back in about 45 minutes). I would definately consider staying again on my next visit to Rome!

The man who runs the place is brilliant. He marked on a map all the things to see in Rome and is clearly really proud of his city.
Only let down was a pretty basic breakfast but if you plan to spend most of the time out and about i'd definitely recommend this for a few days.

The family who own the hotel are extremely helpful and friendly. They also gave us an en suite which we hadn't requested and didn't charge extra for it.
Unfortunately there were one or two issues with the hotel. The first was that the room was so small, between one and two feet between each side of the bed (and the end of the bed) and the walls. The other issue was cleanliness, as the sheets weren't changed at all during our stay, and the en suite wasn't cleaned while we were there.
Whilst we would recommend the hotel for a short stay, we think that something more is required for a longer trip.

It was my 3rd time in Rome. Considering the dirt and the noise of the city, the vulgarity of their people, and the price we have paid, this is an EXCELLENT hotel. It's small, quiet, and familiar. It is at foot distance of train and bus station (Roma Termini). There is a good restaurant nearby: ask to the welcoming owner. Rooms are small but comfortable, bathrooms are clean.
If I ever return to Rome I would stay there. Not for young groups looking for fun, in my opinion.

It was about what I expected for the price. The rooms were small but yet big enough we could move around without having to step over luggage. The elevator is very old and extremely small, but it worked well. We were on vacation and spending a few days in Rome before we got on a cruise ship. The continental breakfast was good and we did not have to wait long for service. I really liked the coffee.

The hotel was basic but clean and pleasant. Location is in walking distance from Termini train station and a selection of restaurants. The room was fairly noisy from the road below (ours was above the side street). There was no problem to pay by credit card (mastercard). Breakfast was 2 biscotti, sweet croissant and a coffee (fairly typical for Italy). Overall the hotel was good for our purposes.
