Excellent hotel in the vicinity of Vatican. Five minutes walk to St Peter's square. They provided us with the types of rooms required and the parking lot we asked for. One of the rooms had a balcony with a great view of St. Peter. Very professional staff, multilingual, helpful with maps, taxis and all. Nothing negative to say really, we enjoyed our stay at Rome and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel staff is not friendly and did not provided any help, and when they did the information was completely wrong which resulted in problems to my family to travel back to Brazil. This was our third time in Rome and I would never go back to this hotel. The pictures of the room do not represent the room that we got and the location of the hotel is far from the major atrractions. There are many other better hotels in Rome for the same price.

Great location near St. Peter's. Breakfast was plentiful. Service was great. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning did not work so it was very HOT, not only in our room, but also the whole hotel. A note on the elevator said a serviceman had been called.

Un hôtel idéal pour passer quelques jours à Rome. Juste derrière le Vatican, on est à 5 minutes à pied de la place St Pierre. Les chambres ainsi que le service sont d'un bon rapport qualité/prix et le personnel est très serviable.

With a little effort this could be a really good hotel. The reception desk was overstaffed and they could do with employing more maintenance staff since certain aspects of the room decor were in need of minor refurbishement and even where this had been carried out it had been done badly. For example paint repairs to wall bore little relation to original colour. I do not expect to arrive at a hotel and find the TV remote not working, a standard lamp not working. A grab handle in the shower loose. The restuarant was expensive the food very good but the dining room lacked any ambiance whatsoever. With more attention to this minor annoyances the hotel could be very good.

If you are looking for a decent priced four stars hotel in Vatican you want to check Starhotel Michelangelo. The room prices seem to be reasonable regarding the location - in the immediate vicinity of St Peter's Cathedral. We had a room in the first floor, unfortunately windows facing to the street. As one could expect the traffic noise was irritating so you better select upper floors and/ or rooms that have windows to the inner yard. The interior of the room we stayed in was pretty worn, clean though. Bathroom was clean and shiny but it could have been bit spacier. Minibar and a safety locker was included. A/C ok. The welcoming was not too warm even if it was reasonably polite. Otherwise the service was flawless and good and the porter service very polite and friendly. The breakfast served was really nice and had at minimum everything you would expect to see in a normal continental table. And it was tasty. I would absolutely rate it above the average 4 star European or American level, and this makes a real difference as we remeber this hotel is in Rome. Additionally, as the location was just a few hundred meters from the St Peter's, the overall price per quality rate makes this a very competitive alternative indeed.

Good Hotel, excellent proximity to Vatican and other sites, good bed, clean bathroom. No safe in the room, walls should be cleaned (painted), standard room was quite small, though good for couple nights.

We were on an 18 day cruise to the Mediterranean that ended in Rome. We extended our vacation by 3 days and stayed in Rome at the Michelangelo. Our stay at the Michelangelo was a perfect end of our wonderful trip. The hotel was in a perfect spot to access the Vatican and most other points of interest in Rome. We will be back and we look forward to staying at the Michelangelo again.

For a 4-star hotel at the price, I was surprised that they could not even provide an iron! The desk told me to refer to the laundry service and add 20%. Ridiculous! Only stay there if you are dying to be near the Vatican!

A neat tidy and classy place. Staff are easy to get along with. Slightly away from the centre of Rome need to cross the travere to get there. Otherwise would recommend. Close to train stations and buses

The hotel was as expected by previous positive reviews listed under venere.com. Taxi from Termini about 12 Euro. Bed and balcony excellent. Hotel nicely situated within walking distance of Vatican and bus stop. Hotel personnel very helpful. Will recommend to friends.

This hotel was a good value for the location. It is located right in the Vatican only a 5 minute walk to St. Peter's square. It is in a non-congested area and is fairly quiet compared to other areas in Rome. We had a balcony in our room facing the street and the Basilica was visible from the balcony. The only complaint would be that a few of the walls were quite dirty and marked up, but overall we thought the room was clean otherwise. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The room was spacious enough for 2. The breakfast was probably close to the best we had in all of italy. The train station was only 1 block away for 1 euro all the way to Rome Termini station, which was much cheaper than a taxi!

we visited this hotel for our honeymoon, and were greatly disappointed. our room stunk of cigarettes and perfume, staff informed, we were told nothing could be done, room was not as nice as on pictures shown, walls very dirty and dinged up. hotel staff not very attentive. nightly price was changed at checkout. sort of far from anyother sites besides vatican. disliked so much we checked out early.

My stay in Rome was fabulous. I was initially booked into the PETRA hotel with you websight, but when I arrived I found the hotel in a very bad location and the room was 2 star at best. Very disappointed. It was nothing like the wed page and very badly situated. The staff there did help me use the internet to try and book another hotel, which was the Michelangelo star hotel. This was fantastic. Unfortunately the terms and conditions did not allow me to any money back, so I lost £301 sterling, which obviously upset me. I put this down to bad (or clever) advertising from the webpage it was on.

This is a very nice hotel at a decent price considering its proximity to the Vatican, which is within a 10-minute walk. The hotel is also very close to two bus stops that are within a 5-minute walk for quick, easy access. The hotel has several different tours that pick up directly in front of the hotel making sightseeing very convenient. The staff was friendly and eager to please. They treated us so well that we felt as if we were staying in a much more expensive hotel.

Very nice, clean room within a 5 minute walk of the Vatican. Lots of nearby snack bars with decent take out food and gelato. A very nice breakfast buffet. We had a nice balcony with a view of St. Peter's Basilica. Compared to other hotels we stayed at in Italy, this one was a good value for the quality and the location. Lots of Americans staying at the hotel, including some big tour groups.

Well placed for Vatican. Helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet and good service. A bit of a walk to nearest metro. However would not let this put you off. Several buses stop nearby. If taking taxi back to airport it is worth asking hotel staff to agree fixed price with driver on your behalf.

We only stayed in this hotel for one night, the last of our holiday. We arrived in Rome after a long car journey and were pleasantly surprised by our lovely clean rooms and extremely comfortable beds. The location was perfect for seeing The Vatican. We had limited exposure to the hotel, but I would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Rome.

I had a hard time rating this hotel for the following reasons. Bell person, bartender, very helpful and friendly. Front desk always acted like they were busy doing something else rather than waiting on us. We were here with another couple and they felt the same as us. It seemed as though we were putting them out to help us. The room was fine. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast nice. Wasn't crazy about the location, took taxi cabs too much. This was our first trip to Rome and probably wouldn't come back to this hotel.

Great location for only the Vatican City, but pretty far off from other main attractions. There s a bus stop nearby if you don't mind waiting or use the bus. A supermarket is about 15 minutes walk and there is a local gracery store just beside the hotel for beverage and fruits.

Nice hotel with very good breakfast. Restaurant is very expensive and food is only okay. Not a lot of other restraurants real close. Location is excellent for the Vatican, but a bit removed from the rest of the sites. We walked everywhere and had no problem, but if you're not up to walking you can take the bus which stops nearby. All hotel personnel were very friendly and spoke good English. Room was nice but bathroom was a bit cramped.

Located less than 5 minutes walk from St Peters, Vatican Museum and Cistine Chapel etc and a simple 10 minute 1 Euro bus ride from Imperial Rome, Pantheon, Piazza Navarro etc. Hotel was good quality and good value at the B&B rate paid in advance, but additional food and drinks taken in the hotel were expensive. Assistance and advice provided by the front desk was excellent. Apart from St Peter's Square the immediate location around the hotel was not attractive for strolling.

we chose your hotel because of the location and the fact that you have a restaurant.I asked to reserve a table for a party of 10 of us for dinner on our first night at your hotel. The waiter on duty was extremely rude and said it was not possible. There were only 5 other tables occupied at the time so clearly the restaurant was not busy. We offered to put tables together ourselves only to be told that this was not possible. Two mornings later at breakfast 2 of our friends were still eating their breakfast when my husband and I sat near to them to have a conversation. We were told by the maitre de that the the dining room was not the place to chat but we should go to the lobby is this how you treat your guests? We complained to the reception about not being able to have dinner together in the restaurant because of the arrogant way in which we were treated. they apologised and said it should not have happened. It had been our intention for all 10 of us to eat in the hotel every evening. Instead we found a nice little restaurant nereby where we were made extremely welcome and we ate there every evening. The hotel and staff apart from the restaurant we found to be excellant. There is clearly a problem amongst the resataurant staff from the maitre de downwards. We would return to your hotel if the restaurant policy is altered. I would appreciate a response to my comments.

This was the first time we stayed at this 4-Star hotel. This 4-Star hotel would not be a 1-Star hotel in Las Vegas. The first room they gave us had a large rip in the carpet that was very obvious and hadn't been repaired. We called and demanded another room, which they took care of immediately. Breakfast was included and was very good; dinner on the other hand was extremely overpriced and poorly prepared. The hotel was close to St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican which was good. Two of the tours offered by this hotel picked us up at the hotel, and left us off after the tour SIX BLOCKS AWAY!!!! I definitely would not stay at this hotel again

This hotel had a great location for visiting the Vatican. There was a produce store a few doors down, a gelato parlor around the corner and several places to eat within two blocks. The rooms were very small but quite quaint. The breakfast was great and the dining room very sunny and friendly. It was easy to navigate to all the scenic spots by public bus, and an accommodating shuttle transported us to our cruise destination and back. I'd recommend this one.

Hotel is ideally located for visitors to the Vatican/St.Peters Square less than 5 minutes walking distance away. There were power cuts when we arrived meaning that lifts and the electricity within the room were "off". Power was restored later in the day without toom much "serious" disruption. Reception staff were excellent knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast food, which was included in the room price, was fresh, plentiful and of good quality. Bar prices were expensive but perhaps what I would expect from a 4 star. Room needed redecoration/update. Overall more a 3 star than 4 star. Small Pizzeria "The Goose" 5 mins walk away provided better value for food/drinks in the evening good simple meals with a cosy, friendly atmosphere .

Maybe because the period of time we were there was very busy, the desk staff were quite curt and at times rude, especially one man who worked evenings. The room was nice and clean, but small. I know this is not unusual for rooms in Europe. I would definately stay there again due to the proximity to the Vatican and just ignore the rudeness of certain individuals. Too many fatty type foods at breakfast and the eggs were always cold. We enjoyed the waiter that sings and hums while working.

If you want an American hotel with an Italian flair, this is it. We were very pleased with this hotel. It is a short 5 minute walk from St. Peter's Square. The staff was wonderful. They arranged for an extra bed for our baby at no extra cost. They even set up a car to take us to/from the airport. The breakfast was delicious and the wait staff was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We only had a very short time to see and do everything in Rome. The hotel helped make this possible - the hotel was in an excellent location for sightseeing. We were very impressed with everything about the hotel - staff, breakfast, rooms. We had a wonderful coulpe of days in Rome and the hotel helped make our stay comfortable. I would certainly reccomend this hotel.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel and would recommend this place to family and friends. The staff was very friendly and made our visit a pleasure. We were meeting our oldest daughter at the hotel who was already in Italy, when a hotel employee(Joseppe)took it upon himself to arrange for proper and safe transportation of my daughter from her location to the hotel!!!Outstanding customer service from a dedicated employee! We Thank You so much for having great employees.

I stayed at the Michelangelo on the 18th October with my Mum and Sister. We had a triple room which was plenty big enough for 3 adults. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the whole day. You could not stay in a better place if the primary purpose of your visit to Rome is to go to the Vatican.

This is a superb venue for a trip to Rome. Very close to the Vatican and within relatively easy walking distance of most of the main sites. Also found taxi's to be very reasonable when required. Hotel interior was very fresh, room service was superb. All in all a good value for money hotel in a pricey city. We asked for a room to the back of the hotel, so no trouble from road noise.

The hotel was clean, the dining adequate, although we used it only for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and took care of all our requests. I thought the rooms were small, but maybe all rooms are small in Europe. The surroundings of the hotel were not the cleanest, but the same as all Rome. All in all, the accomadations were what we expected.
