| Situated just 900 meters away from the Roma Termini railway station and from the airport shuttle terminal, the hotel lies near the most beautiful park of Rome, Villa Borghese, just a 10 minute walk away. A 15 minute walk will take you to the Dolce Vita setting on Via Veneto, which dates back to the '60s and is still one of the most elegant and exclusive streets.
The hotel is very well serviced by public transportation, which allows convenient access to all of the main museums and monuments in the city's historic center. |

We found an excellent price for this hotel on venere.com. Perhaps it wouldn't have been worth the full price shown on their web site. They are rated as a 4-star, but I would say it was more like a 3-star. Some renovations were going on in the hallways while we were there, and there was scaffolding on the front. However, none of this bothered us.
The breakfast was good, and there was wifi and a free internet point. The personnel were helpful.
This hotel seems far from the center of the city, but the number 90 express bus stops right in front. It runs every five minutes and gets you to Termini station in five minutes (2 stops). There are some reasonably good restaurants in the vicinity. The neighborhood is not quaint, but fairly pleasant, with a wide tree-shaded avenue, although with rather heavy traffic.
I don't understand the comments about dirty carpets. Our room had marble floors.
We didn't need either heat nor air conditioning when we were there, so I can't comment on that.
If you can get a reduced price, this is a great hotel. If not, it may not be worth the full price.

Let me start by saying that Hotel Turner is advertised as a 4-star hotel, but it does not come close. The decor that is proudly described on line is not exactly accurate. They forget to mention that their beautiful fabric covered walls are dusty and that their bathrooms are infested with ants. The staff is curt and not very helpful. We called to inform the front desk that the air conditioning in our room was not working and he said he'd have someone come right over. They sent up a bell boy who fiddled with the thermostat and said conflicting things during a 3 min evaluation 'its not on, i'll turn it on' when i told him i had it on for the past 4 hours he said 'oh but it doesn't work like that, the ac for all the rooms are shared' then 'its working now, i can hear it' and 'the staff who can fix it is out, i'll have them look at it tomorrow morning'. We were there for 3 nights and even though we reported the ac issue the first evening it was never addressed and we weren't even moved. So we had to keep the window open and it faced on to a very busy street, so we hardly got any sleep because of the noise. Since the hotel's front still has scaffolding up, we also got a good amount of dust. We spent over 2 weeks in Italy and stayed at Turner our last three days. Even though we didn't get sick on our entire trip, both my husband and I caught awful colds because of the dust and lack of temperature control. The hotel's breakfast was also not close to 4 stars, neither were their common areas. The website advertises that breakfast is included in the price. However, you only get 1 cup of coffee per person and can only eat the biscuits or cake for free. If you want more coffee, or would like cereal or toast & prosciutto or toast & cheese or eggs, etc., you have to pay and here I would say that only the price is indicative of a 4-star hotel, i.e. its expensive. I sincerely hope that it gets downgraded to 3 stars or less so that it can meet the expectations it sets.

We booked online a few days prior to checking in and the room we received was great! The hotel was very clean, the staff was very knowledgeable and we felt very safe staying at Hotel Turner. Taxi from the Termini train station is under 10 euros.

The hotel was basic. There was no hot water in the showers due to a problem they were having so for the whole stay we had cold showers. The facilities in the room were old. Bed was cofortable. Breakfast was not worth having as they only did cold food.
Location was good.. central to all attractions and bus stop was outside the hotel.

Excelent Hotel and decoration. The only problem is the size of the bathing box.Is almost impossible to take a decent bath in so tiny space. The second problem is that when you book two periods like I did the first of 6 days was less expensive than the second of one day and there were no way to have the same price.

We love the Turner. This property is a very boutique-chic hotel. Small and intimate and, for an American, very European. The staff takes their responsibilities very seriously and provide excellent, caring, enthusiastic service. If you are looking for a bargain in a nice area, close to transportation, museums, and a great place to get lost and really discover Rome, this is the place.

The hotel looked very nice, but all the extras in the bathrooms ie power shower and jacuzzi didn't work.
We could not open our windows as there was scaffolding directly against them.
The workman started at about 7.00am every morning making it impossible to sleep in.
We asked to be moved even to a lesser spec room without any success.
There was no bar and the restaurant didn't serve any food other than the buffet breakfast.

The hotel was a disappointment in our travel plans. The room that we were in for the first night had an interesting odor. On the second night, we came back to our rooms to discover that none of the lights worked. We notified the front desk and the night manager proceeded to yell at us before switching us to another room. Overall this hotel was not anywhere near worth the price charged and I would never voluntarily stay here again.

Location was excellent with quite a variety of restaurants within walking distance. Continental breakfast was very nice and in nice location. Staff was very helpful. Rooms had been recently renovated and were very nice, thick paned windows to block out the street noise.

When we originally arrived, we were given 2 rooms on the lower level that had exhaust blowing into them. We requested that the rooms be changed immediately. The staff immediately changed our rooms to something healthier. The single room is very small but the double is generous (even by American standards). The Hotel had numerous amenities such as an in room safe. The location is excellent, there are about 5-6 buses stations on the corner which makes transportation very easy and convenient. The hotel is also about 10-15 minutes by bus to the main train station. At the main station, you can catch any bus to anywhere in Rome. The police station is right across the street which makes for a safe area. The hotel is conveniently located to the major sights by bus (all within a half hour bus ride). The Villa Borghese is a 20 minute walk. There is a drug store next to the Hotel and numerous small restaruants. The breakfast was fine and once the windows were closed, there was no street noise. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Italy.

We enjoyed our stay very much but believe the breakfast could have been more imaginative. The cheese and cold meats on offer daily were bland compared with the superb choice available in Rome itself. After a few days we found breakfast boring. Could do better.
The tourist info in the hotel was sparse and the hotel info system on the tv didn't seem to be working.
Overall the hotel was very good and we enjoyed our stay.

The double room was very small compare to the picture. The single room we saw was very very very small.
Onthe other hand, the service was good, the house was renovated - a lot of gold - like 1900, they have a original TURNER in the readingroom.

We liked the hotel very much. It was a bit noisy as our room overlooked the road but with the windows closed and air conditioning on it was a lot quieter. The location was very good and the local restuarants were better (in our opinion) than those in the city centre. I have recommended the Turner to my brother who will visit Rome early next year.
