This is a small but very nice hotel close to Trevi Fountain and other accommodations including the metro. The price was reasonable and the rooms were more than adequate. When in Rome, hotels are only really necessary for sleeping, and this one was great for that.

Excellent location; nice staff: gave good hints on buses, attractions and restaurants. There was a problem with the sheets in my daughter's bed which appeared not to have been changed form previous guests, we could get a new set at reception.

We chose this hotel because of its central location within the old part of Rome as we have small childen who wouldn't be capable of walking long distances. It was our first experience of Rome, and as a result of Hotel Regno's location a wonderful one! In two days we managed to see all the sights in 2km radius (at times with the help of a bus). Both my wife and I also managed to (seperately) jog from the fontana to the Vatican and back in the early morning, which was magical. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, especially those working in the breakfast room.

We stayed for 4 nights in May 2008. The location is fabulous, only a few minutes walk to the Trevi fountain, Pantheon etc. Colloseum and Forum also walkable. Plenty of restaurants in surrounding area. The room we had was spacious, on the top floor and had a balcony. The only minor negative is that breakfast was a bit limited / boring. Would definately stay here again

Overall, our family of four really liked this hotel. The location was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the price was reasonable compared to comparable hotels. On the less positive side, we had a quadruple room reservation, but we got one room with four beds, and it was fairly cramped. The breakfast room was also very crowded in the morning, and the elevator was not working on one occasion. I would return to this hotel, however, on another trip to Rome.

Single room, small and not very clean. Could hear the snores of my neighbours and their TV as if they were just by my side. Breakfast was worth nothing: the only proper thing was the cofee, all the rest was of poor quality. People was nice. The best thing was, no doubt, the location. Definetly the price - 100 eur/night - was not very high but I think the overall quality I recieved made me think I was paying too much for what I got.

I have travelled to Rome many times but it was my Daughter's first trip. The hotel was great, in a perfect location with really friendly staff. Everything was perfect and I would stay at Hotel Regno again.

Basically an excellent hotel and excellent service. A small problem on the first day was that I was given a room that clearly had been used by smokers before, although the entire hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. The staff reacted quickly and moved me into a fresh room. Their help and service also worked very efficiently when I was on my way to the station and they called the taxi driver because I had left a bag in the hotel. The surroundings of the hotel are not too noisy but it is possible to hear your neighbours when they are speaking loudly.

Probably one of the best hotels we have enjoyed in Europe. Price to value was wonderful. We were on the top floor, in a quad room since we had two children (ages 7 and 9). The room had a spectacular balcony from which we could enjoy the sights and sounds of Roma. Perfect location! Within 300 yards we could walk to Trevi fountain, The Pantheon, the "Wedding Cake", Trajan's columm, Trajan's market. No better location in the city. We will stay here anytime we go to Rome.

Awesome location. Staff completely competent and willing to assist in any way. Room was much larger than expected for european standards. Perfectly clean. Beds a little hard and third bed in room was not comfortable. But location and price were excellent! Room had balcony overlooking via del corso. wonderful view of busy streets - could see all the way to piazza venezia and piazza del popolo. Great shopping, restaurants, pizza, patiseries...We completely enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return. Breakfast was very good too!

An excellent location, excellent reception and restaurant staff. A pleasure to stay there. We will definitely return. Two disappointments: our rooms, on the 5th floor, were near an airconditioning or other type of plant, so although the weather was perfect and we had a balcony with a fabulous view, we found we couldn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked. The breakfast was OK, but not brilliant, and the breakfast room staff, unlike all the rest of the staff at the hotel, were a little surly.

This hotel is in the best spot in Rome- no hotel can offer you a better location! You are in the middle of everything, walking distance (even with small children) to the Spanish Steps, the Forum and the Coloseum. The room is very clean, although be prepared that the front desk cannot offer you change (we wanted to tip the porter but only had large bills) or help if the air conditioning doesn't work. Expect noise if you open the window because of the street below (but closing the windows really helps - unless the air conditioning isn't working and then you either sweat and close the windows or are fine but have noise from the street below). Best location ever, so I'd come back in a heartbeat! (You even have a balcony which was great!)

I was in Rome for 3 days and had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Regno. The staff were very friendly and accomodating from the minute i arrived until i left. The service overall was excellent. The entire stay at the hotel went without a glich. I would highly recommend this hotel and also the services of venere who managed to get me an excellent price for this hotel.

We booked this hotel expecting 4 star service but received 2 star service at a 4 star price. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because they advertised child care service. Once we got there, there was no child care service and the receptionists were unwilling to help us procure this service from within the city. We could hear everything in the room next to us, including a crying toddler. When we arrived for breakfast, we were the only people in the room to be asked what room we were staying in - as if we looked like we didn't belong there. Descrimination! The only good thing about the hotel was the location - right next to a shoe store and cafe and on the shopping strip within walking distance to most everything. But it wasn't worth the money when we could have gone 2 blocks down and stayed somewhere equally nice for half the price. I do not recommend this hotel to families.

The hotel was centrally located and a ten minute walk to most of the main sights. The staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast good and the bathroom was great! The staff were very welcoming to my teen daughter who checked in ahead of us. Highly recommended.

I specified some particular request when making the booking on the web, and was amazed to see this printed on the checkin slip at reception, and even more surprised that it had been done with no problem. I would recommend this as a good hotel, providing you don't want to spend a lot of time in the room - there is enough room to sleep, get dressed (carefully) and that is it. The bathroom is big enough, but only just. Balcony is great, not completely private, but was a great bonus nonetheless. Hotel is absolutely ideal for anyone wanting to have a base for walking round all sights in central Rome, and pleasant and helpful staff. I would definitely go again.Would not recommend our room for older people as there are too many stairs to be negotiated. Would not recommend the hotel for anyone with children, because I don't want noisy children spoiling anybody else's enjoyment here!!

My two friends and I did not know what to expect when arriving at our hotels in Italy. We booked all three hotels (in 3 different cities) all through venere.com. We were quite pleased with all our hotels. However Hotel Regno definitely beat out the other two. The service was great, the rooms were so clean, the bathrooms were spotless and our rooms were very spacious! We could not believe how big our rooms were compared to the other two hotels we stayed in. Our room had two seperate rooms- one as a sitting room with couch that turned into a twin bed and one with the king size bed. It also had two flatscreen tvs with English channels and a walkout wrap around balcony. Plus, you cannot beat the location-- so close to Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, and all the Piazza's. I would reccommend this hotel to everyone!! If I return (well I should say when) to Rome I will definitely plan on staying at Hotel Regno!

Having been warned by other reviews that the rooms could be very small and noisy (those facing the Via Corso, a major and very busy street), I called 3 times in advance to make sure we had a large, quiet double room on a high floor. We did. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great to have a computer/TV connection in the room. Their restaurant had problems. They consistently gave me pineaple juice when I asked for grapefruit. They served cold, premade pizza (dinner) and cold croissants (breakfast). But this was minor. The location is terrific. Overall a very pleasant hotel for the price. We would go back.

Very central location and easy to find after a day out in Rome. Helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast room is too small as others have mentioned, but we simply judged when the busy times were and avoided those periods ! The aircon. can be left on when you leave the room so it is nice and cool upon your return.

Although very pleased with the hotel overall,I thought the price of 230 Euros per night was too high. This apart ,the hotel was quiet, clean and ideally situated for all the major sightseeing attractions - within walking distance. No hesitation in staying again at the Regno.

The hotel room is completely quiet even if the hotel is in the very center of Rome. To my great surprise the room was much better than the one in the picture, newly redecorated, not large but very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was small but clean and accessorized. I appreciated the warm welcome and the kindness of the staff : they provided me the informations I needed and a very good service. I will surely be their faithful costumer every time I'll come back to Rome.

We had a quiet room on the top floor which was immaculate. The hotel is located in the best position in Rome to take advantage of the sights to be seen. A short walk to spanish steps, trevi fountain, pantheon, Piaza Navona, Colloseum etc, we even walked to the vatican. The only down side was if you arrived for breakfast with about half an hour to go until it ends you will find lots of items are not available and not replenished, so arrive early.

Our family of 2 adults and 3 children had a great stay here. The location was very central, so sightseeing was easy to do. Many bus routes nearby too. The room we had was large enough for 5, and had a big bathroom. Air conditioning was great, and meant that the windows could be kept shut when quiet was needed. Wonderful breakfasts. More towels immediately available when requested. A good value stay for a family (most alternative hotels cannot offer a room for 5, so you have there the expense of 2 rooms).

Everything in Rome is expensive, so for the price, the Hotel Regno was fine. It is a small, tall, thin building with one slow elevator and lots of stairs. Most people use the stairs. The elevator is used to transport luggage. The room was spacious, and fairly clean, I say fairly because everything is old and some of the furniture is stained, still is is charming and very fitting in the "Roman sense". The location is perfect. Only a block away from the Trevi fountain, the piazza de Venicia, the Pantheon, and the Spannish steps. Of course, shopping is everywhere. There was one thing that annoyed me about the Regno. We only stayed one night, and on that night we returned from an evening out at around midnight. We were traveling with our children and had "trundle couch" in the room for them to sleep on. (a couch with a twin mattress underneath that pulls out). After searching the room, I realized there were no linen for these two beds. My two kids were tired and cranky by this time, so I went down to the desk to get linens. The night shift was not happy to see me. They could not understand why I had not discovered this problem until now, and did not want to help. They basically said it was too late to get linens. I made it clear I was not going to leave until I got sheets. After much go around, they called their supervisor. They told me to go to my room and they would "let me know" if sheets would be available. Now I'm mad, because I want to go to bed. So, I stayed at the desk until I was told sheets would be brought up promptly. Apparently, the supervisor told the night shift where to get sheets. I took a while for the sheet delivery, because you know, everyone there is on Roman time. Then, at half past midnight, I had to "make beds." When I think back on the event, It doesn't seem that bad, but at the time I was "really ticked." After that episode, the staff did not seem as friendly. I guess the word got around. Still, even after this event, I would stay ag

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Regno. The location was superb, the breakfast was delicious and varied, and the room was quite large. The toilet made a running noise continuously, but that could be covered up by closing the bathroom door. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Rome.

We had difficulty with the refrigerated air conditioning of our room on the first evening of our stay and some assertiveness on our part was required to effect a correction of the problem. Thereafter, we had air conditioning but not, we regretted, of a standard that we have grown elsewhere to expect. Other than that, we found our stay to be most comfortable. Moreover, the very central location in Rome of this hotel cannot be surpassed for its convenience.

Well placed hotel, the people are very kind, except one of the front desk clerk. But the air conditioner was a disaster, outside was 100 degrees and the air conditioner only work between 2 an 5 in the morning. The room was hot like hell. The hair blower did not heat, and the toillet was flushing water 24 hour a day. The breakfast was good, but the best part is the locattion. It expensive for not having comoditties like air conditioner working properly. The rest is fine what so ever.

In the plus column, the location can't be beat and the staff are truly helpful and pleasant. For being on such a busy steet we were pleasantly surprised at how much noise was blocked out with the windows closed. That said, we were very warm with our windows closed since the airconditioning in our room did not work. While Italy was undergoing a heat wave, we couldn't write off the lousy a/c to an overwhelmed system as other rooms and common areas were considerably cooler. Also, we booked a quadruple room which ended up being a small double room with four small beds. The bathroom was tiny and smelled of mildew. The furnishings were worn and dirty. We loved the city and the location so much that we were able to have a great time despite the hotel's other shortcomings. Still, I'd try a different property next time....
