Stayed with 2 friends for 3 nights. Lovely hotel with welcoming staff and in great location for sightseeing. Good selection of food for breakfast.

We stayed at this Dei Borgognoni for 4 nights and were overwhelmed by the fact that the information and photos were corresponding to reality! Location superb, a spacious bedroom and hall with sofa-bed and nice breakfast + service-minded staff! We were 3 people and had a triple room, at the top floor with a nice little terrace. The only negative thing was that the beds were hard, so we had difficulties in sleeping: it felt like sleeping directly on the floor!

We stayed for 8 days at the Borgognoni. Our 3 teenagers shared a triple room, which was actually 2 rooms, plus a bathroom and a tiny little terrace. My wife and I shared a double room. Both rooms were clean and although not huge, were spacious enough for our comfort. We loved the hot breakfast every morning and the fact that it was included in the price. We were also thrilled to find out that right next door to the hotel was a grocery store! With 3 teenagers, it was great! They were able to go and buy snacks and drinks whenever they wanted and it was much less expensive! The location couldn't have been better, the service was good and best of all - our air-conditioning was great! The weather was so hot and it was nice to come home to a wonderfully cool room. There were lots of other Americans staying there and everyone seemed to be pleased with the hotel. I'd recommend it!

Great location so central but for the price we were charged for a superior room what can I say we had what I would call an attic room with a small sitting room a terrace that only one person could fit on I do think its naughty of the hotel to charge €30 per day for parking considering the price of the room, but then so close to spanish steps I guess we cant expect anything less. The hotel itself was very nice good choice of food for breakfast, the staff were very helpful and I would stay there again.

Location was great, on a side street (therefore quiet) just off main roads. 5 min walk to both Trevi ftn and Spanish Steps. We stayed in a triple room, which (for Rome) was quite spacious: a king size bed and a single bed, with a 3/4 length wall offering a degree of privacy. Bathroom was fine. Breakfast room, service and quality was excellent.

The location was great! We walked to Trivi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Borghese Gardens, shopping, restaurants and even walked back from the Forum. The employees were wonderful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed both the quality of this hotel and the location . People were very helpful espcially as we arrived very late on the Friday evening . The hot breakfast was a real pleasure as most hotels in Rome only seemed to offer a continental breakfast. The location enabled us to walk to all of the main attractions and provided easy access to some really good local restaurants. The limo taxi to the airport rounded off a most enjoyable two days in the Eternal City.

The location could not have been better. It is a small hotel but very classy. One bonus is an excellent grocery store next door to the hotel that we didnt discover until the 2nd day. Walking to most of the major monuments was easy. Access to the subway system for the remainder was relatively close. If we stayed away from the major tourist areas (Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps), we found many wonderful areas to eat and shop that were out of the mainstream. Overall, it was a great location for discovering Rome and the hotel was small but perfect for our visit.

The hotel is excellently situated, close to both the Trevi fountain (about 4 minutes' walk) and the Spanish steps (about 7 mins). I requested a room with terrace, which we got, but forgot to specify non-smoking - remember to do that as the site does not automatically ask. The staff were pleasant and helpful, there were plenty of places to eat (try Othello's for a brilliant atmosphere and good reasonably priced food) and the hotel breakfasts are huge with excellent choice. It was well worth getting a taxi back to the airport which the hotel arranged for us without charging a fee as some hotels do. The staff had lively debates with us about all sorts of things including football - if you get the chance to go to a local derby (Roma v Lazio) go - don't listen to stories of violence - we went, felt entirely safe and the atmosphere was brilliant (though the game left a lot to be desired!). The only downsides were that our jacuzzi didn't work and couldn't be fixed, and the hotel doesn't have a roof terrace - but that's a small price to pay for good service and quality. We loved this hotel and would definitely return.

This hotel is in the ideal location for most of the popular sights, shops and restaurants. As such the price you pay reflects this. If the hotel accommdation is slightly lacking, its location, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff compensates for it.

Perfectly located, competent staff, all the basics done well; But staff unfriendly, the whole place decorated in a 70s timewarp style, rooms too small for the price and lack of style. Can't say didn't get what paid for in terms of facilities and quality of service; fuss free and location was one of main criteria anwyay. But wouldn't go back.

The photographs are misleading, the reference to "superior rooms" was totally misleading and the orice for same was far too high. By standards of other hotels there was nothing superior about the room at all and I feel I should be refunded the difference between the ordinary room price and the superior price, about €200. The room was of standard quality, I travel a lot and am well used to hotel accommodation, this room was not "superior" in any way. We made this point to the front desk on arrival but the issue was not addressed save that we were shown three rooms all of the same standard.

The location of the hotel was really good, quiet and just away from a main road ,it was in an interesting area of Rome with lots of restaurant choice and easy strolls to the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Piazza Navona etc. The front of house staff were efficient and courteous but couldn't be described as over friendly, however, all the serving staff were very helpful. We asked to stay an extra night and were charged over 40% more per room than the first night for the same rooms, whilst we could understand that there would likely be some increase over the price booked through venere.com it did seem excessive. What was more disappointing was that we had to leave just after seven in the morning to make a train connection and they wouldn't offer us anything more than a cup of coffee on the premises for our breakfast, not even a croissant in a bag, even though we had been paying such a heavy price for the extra night's bed and breakfast. It is a polite, clean, quiet, convenient hotel......... just make sure you book your whole stay through venere.com and don't have to leave too early in a morning.

Our first trip to Europe and boy did we plan ahead!!! After an exhausting hotel search on multiple search engines, we kept coming back to the hotel Dei Borgognoni and we are glad we picked it! I would have to say, everything was excellent--LOCATION was PERFECT, friendly service, cleanliness, the room was moderately luxurious with the fabric, the room was sound proof (almost completely), and the breakfast wasn't bad at all (and it was free!). AND, when we emailed the hotel about airport pick up--they set it up and there was a driver waiting for us--of course we had to pay but it wasn't that bad! When we wanted recommendations, the hotel concierge always made great suggestions and gave excellent directions. The ONLY negative comment I would make is that the pictures shown on the website embellishes the rooms a tad bit--not that the rooms weren't nice because they were! In other words, we first booked the standard double (online), and I emailed that we would like to have a room with a patio. They emailed back saying that a room with a patio, as shown online, was for superior rooms only, so I cancelled and rebooked the superior. Upon arrival, our rooms were assigned--we traveled with other couples (AND they were nice enough to allow early check in!) and I noted our room was maybe SLIGTHLY larger than our friend's room, whom had a standard ($70 cheaper/night) and we didn't have the patio. Another couple, also had the superior, and they did have a very small balcony BUT their room was much smaller than ours. Upon checking with the desk, I was told that if we wanted a room with a patio, we would need to pay a lot more for a room, and that wasn't what I booked online. So, EXCELLENT hotel, PERFECT location within walking distance to EVEN the Vatican--VERY central BUT, book a standard and request to have a room that faces the garden--the rooms don't vary much and it's not worth the increased price BUT the hotel was worth the great price we received (off season) at about 175

The hotel is in an excellent location. There was a problem with the reservation. This corrected expeditiously and as well as the circumstances would allow, not optimally but very satisfactorily. Some of the public areas are a bit tired and require updating. The staff were very, very helpful. They could not have been more accomodating. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much, we received very good value and we would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was fantastic with particularly friendly and attentive service. We had been travelling in Southern Italy without air conditioning so the cool bedroom was pure bliss. There is no restaurant facility apart from breakfast but in such an enchanting city as Rome it's much more fun to hunt out restaurants. The location of the hotel is perfect - easy walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and pretty much everything else (a definite bonus when it's nearly 40 degrees!). We'd definitely stay here again if we were ever to revisit Rome. We were also impressed with venere.com - I've had bad experience in the past booking hotels through websites but the service was very good & the hotel knew we were coming!!

The hotel met my expectations and the room was certainly worth the price. The bathroom was fabulous and the staff was able to help me out with all my questions and requests for help. I did order room service for one evening meal which was dissapointing quality. I cannot say whether the food in the dining room was any better; usually there is a great difference. The hotel is in an excellent location and within walking distance of just about any major tourist attraction in Rome, given your stamina. The Spanish Steps are just a few blocks away, as is the Trevi Fountain. That entire part of town has been there for many centuries, and it is good to walk up and down the Roman streets and mingle with the locals.

Hotel is elegant. Staff is friendly, professional, and helpful. Only front desk staff could be a little warmer. Doormen very nice and supportive (we had a wheelchair with us). Location is excellent for those who want it quiet but in the middle of historical Rome. Room well decorated but quite expensive for size. A little hot just below the roof. Not sure if we paid more than we should have compared to better floors below, including some with private terrace. Took two recommendations from front desk for dinner, one was worth it (Teramici), the other not really (Trattoria del Tritone).
